Poshmark just takes your money and you are stuck with the item whether it is described correctly or not. I have had 2 Sellers take my $$ but never send a product. I have had 2 Sellers send me a piece of garbage product and have to fight to get my money back. I am DONE!
I purchased an item on Poshmark. The item was labeled "Made in China". The quality was sub-standard fabric. I contacted Poshmark to send the item back to the seller. They asked me to contact the seller and negotiate an exchange. The seller called me names and virtually unapproachable. Poshmark did not intervene with this process. Buyer Beware!
This site is full of cheap buyers looking for things they cannot afford. Don't bother trying to sell your high-end items on this site- it's a waste of time and energy. A bunch of Walmart shoppers with Bergdorf taste.
As ridiculous as it sounds, I'm afraid that it's true. Poshmark tried to log-in to my Amazon account. Here are some facts to back up my claims:
1. My Amazon account got log-in attempt notification of the week that I signed up for Poshmark.
2. I keep track of all of my accounts and password. I narrowed my search down when I received that log-in attempt email and found only 2 results. Poshmark and Amazon are the only one with matching email + pw.
3. The pw was new one too! I happen to create a new pw that week and used it on both Amazon and Poshmark, never used anywhere else before. So I'm very positive the log-in attempt was from Poshmark.
Other facts to convince you that I'm right:
- if you've signed up for Poshmark, you already know their follower-following list are fake. They make you follow 1000 strangers without your consent.
- if you enter a zipcode, you can easily find your neighbors. There's non-existing privacy in this app.
So therefore, avoid this app at all cost and be careful with your email and pw. They're definitely using that info illegally without your consent.
What about Poshmark? Depends if your a buyer or seller. You will find some great deals if your a buyer. If your a kid that only needs gas money - be a seller. Lots of great stuff for $5 and free shipping. Kids don't have many needs and aren't seasonsed sellers - good place to learn for them but they are seriously taken advantage of. PM capitalizes on their ignorance and love of social buz. If you are trying to sell. You will be competing with thousands of sellers selling stuff for $3 - $5. Be prepared for PM to hijack your phone contacts!
Googling this company brings up thousands of unhappy customers. My fault for not doing that before buying. Huge red flag is the site keeping their seller ratings private. Nooo, wouldn't want to warn buyers about shady sellers. I feel lucky leaving with a minimal loss. Not holding my breath for any help recovering my money given what I have read. Seller listed shirt as brand new and when I received it there were 2 stains on the front making it unwearable.
So far I have bought 3 pairs of shoes for my sons, 1 for me, pants for me, dress for my granddaughter, and shorts for one son- and I saved a TON of money! Adidas for $13- yes please! Vans (new!) for $30 - yay! My pants $8 - Yesss! You have to really check out the pics, read descriptions, and be smart! So worth it if you want deals! I am a bit frugal when it comes to kids shopping sometimes and this is perfect! Also you get rewarded when your friends join and shop!
They have sellers on their platform that are pushing products that misrepresent the actual product condition. They took my $2500 for a used and aged bag... their pictures did not reflect the condition of the bag. Their seller wins as they have a loose/keep it return policy. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS. BE warned!
I purchased an item listed as white. It was a dirty yellow/ivory. Asked the seller how to resolve/return. No reply. The only thing left was to file a "claim". Then it took 10+ days of me supplying multiple photos to Poshmark to back up the claim and my request to return. The "team" said it was "as described" and denied that it was listed incorrectly. The seller has the advantage and Poshmark wants to make it's percentage, so they decide on the seller's side. Obviously Poshmark's customer service is prejudiced AND colorblind. Beware.
Maybe if you are really computer savvy, you can navigate this website and the ins and outs of Poshmark's complicated shopping rules. Buyer beware! I have had a few simple successful transactions--yay! But in three cases, I have not had a good experience. I just bought a pair of Eileen Fisher shoes advertised in my size. The shoes were too large. I had no way to phone in for help, figure out how to contact the seller through the website, and was ultimately told by Poshmark that it is too bad that the shoe doesn't fit. Not their problem. Their so-call "grievance" department is a joke. I could open a "case" -- and I know how that would go. So bye bye Poshmark. I won't be shopping there any more.
Poshmark doesn't even deserve a one star. I buy pre owned clothing items for children and women in need most of the time. And give it to family networks centers. I bought a pair boots for a boy for $120, that's what he wanted... my good feed for this holidays. And they were disgusting, dirty and wasn't as pictured at all when I received them. Poshmark team kept dragging the return for weeks, asked to provide unnecessary pictures. And then denied the return eventually after wasting my time. They don't have a buyer protection plan and it's not buyer friendly. Poshmark is not a great place to do your shopping, I will not recommend this market place to anyone.
Poshmark is the most expensive selling platform out there. You make a $20 sale, you get $16 oof it. They pocket the rest of YOUR money.
II made an order 10 days ago, and seller never shipped. They said they gave me a refund and it's nowhere to be found. I have sent many, many emails to PM support all I get is tons no reply emails. Now have escalated dispute with paypal. No human contact in 10ndats, none. And no refund. This app is a total rip off to all sellers. They pocket your money sitting at desks shooting the breeze while they pocket our money. And don't issue refunds on a failed and cancelled sale. Very very disgusted with Poshmark. Poorly managed. No help or any support from humans. And they keep YOUR own hard earned money. Sellers are better anywhere but rip off poshmark. $10 sale equals $7 for you. $15 sale, you make $12. Get my point?
I am no longer shopping at Podhmsrk because I am tired of getting mediocre quality merchandise. The pics make the item look good. However, once received it is a different story. And you cannot return the item. I bought shoes in my size and then received they were too small. And I could not return them. That is nonsense. A seller could be deceitful and there is no tecoirse. It is a Gamble and I am done playing the game..
I can't even express how horrible Poshmark is. The customer service is rude, they do not acknowledge complaints or questions, they straight up ignore seller and buyer issues, they make the most minor of situations incredibly difficult, they have not paid me for one of my sold items... I could go on and on. I will be reporting them to the BBB. My experience with them has been offensive and stressful. So unnecessary for something that should be fun. Poshmark is a really bad boyfriend that cheats and ignores communication. I despise them. Do not do business with them!
I gave Poshmark one last chance after several bad experiences but now I am done. Sellers are dishonest and don't disclose damage to items. They act like it's brand new or used only once with no wear and then you get it and it has a big rip or is falling apart. I like to buy purses and many of them from all different buyers were fraying and coming apart at the handles to the point that I would have to have them repaired or they would fall apart in a week. Conveniently, these damages were not visible in the photos. Before buying I asked some sellers to provide more photos or be more specific about the item's condition but they either lied or once again provided photos that hid the damage. By the way, this never happens on EBay. I'm done.
They allow buyers to send goods back and even when you receive an empty box back they will simply send you a standard email. So the buyer has your stuff and you gave nothing. Stay away
I really loved this site when I first started selling a few years ago. Put up with the insanely high fees because of the ease of the shipping labels. But the customer service has gotten worse, and there is almost no recourse against crazy buyer scams.
I recently sold an item of clothing in flawless condition to a buyer who then tore it in order to send back (strict return policy prevents sending items back unless damaged). Poshmark refused to give me the money from the sale, without any reason for siding with the buyer, despite the fact that I had pics pre-sale. I have a friend who had the same thing happen to her twice. Ruined item AND no money for sale. It also takes them way too long to respond to complaints, if they respond at all. Aside from it not being worth the hassle I'm leaving on principle. Seller beware!
Bought a "sweater" that was in no way as described, tags torn out, total trash, the photos were copied from web and NOT actual item. The seller denied my request to return and refund. Poshmark would not respond to my emails or requests. I will never buy anything from Poshmark again they have horrible customer service and not worth the risk when Amazon and Ebay provide excellent customer service. DONT RISK OR WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Bought a footjoy sweater last week. Came in and was obviously shrunk. Wasn't even close to the original size. Sent picture to poshmark and they said sizes may vary and I have to keep the item! It looks like a kids sweater. I'm done with poshmark
I bought a top that was probably from a "Seconds" shop. The sizing was way off, no one would want to be stuck with. The Seller did not care, Poshmark did not care. It is a total gamble to buy on there. Not worth throwing your money away. The top in the photo was supposed to be a small. It would be huge even for a large person. The buyer tried to say it was the style, & she just sold it because she never wore it.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
