Horrible for selling, buying is ok as long as you have realistic expectations because 99% of products are used. A lot of sellers are being scammed by the buyers on this site.
They let buyers steal and then never reply to messages. I sent leggings buyer opened a return with a pic of something I didn't send sadly this person sent an empty envelope and poshmark dont give a $#*! b
I love Poshmark. I don't understand the negative reviews to be honest. As a buyer, you need to ask questions about an item if you're interested. I've really only had one negative experience and that's because I did not ask the seller any questions. Use your brain, and you'll make informative decisions about your purchases. I've been selling, and purchasing on Poshmark for 6 years, and I don't have a single negative thing to say about it.
I went online to buy a used Burberry jacket and found this site, with what seemed like great deals. But DO NOT BE FOOLED. I spent almost $400 and received a jacket that smelly and clearly had been sitting g in someone's closet for a very long time. It should have been labeled as " vintage" this would have indicated that it could ( AND DID) smell. It also would have tipped me off to the fact that it would not be sized the same way as the modern Burberry. Given the smelliness ( which probably was permanent given that the buyer said it had been dry cleaned) and size issue, I asked for a refund. That was denied after several communications to Poshmark and despite that the Seller agreed to the return. And when I appealed the decision I was met with silence by a Poshmark. Not even the courtesy of a reply
Buyer beware. From reading the return policy, it might look like a full refund will be easy to obtain. DO NOT BE FOOLED. I'm $400 poorer to prove it.
There are soo many fake items on here! And trying to return anything you buy is a nightmare! Do not waist your money and time! Poshmark is only looking out for their profit and could care less about the fact that the items are fake or that the clothing you bought doesn't fit! So basically if you buy it your stuck with it, and the a** hole that sold it to you along with Poshmark reap all the benefits! Most of the people on Poshmark that sell basic or even high end clothing just go around stealing bags of clothes from the goodwill drop off's! Then just post it right up on Poshmark!
EVERYONE PLEASE BEWARE::::: Horrible and misrepresented protection from Poshmark concierge service. I bought a $1350 LV bag and it arrived, after authentication, smelling terribly of mildew! I opened a return within 24 hours of delivery and they still will not honor my return! They are a horrible scam platform that everyone should be aware of before they turn over big money for used bags (or any merchandise). It's also very hard to find a platform to review Poshmark. There are no telephone numbers to speak to an actual human being. This has been an awful experience not to mention very expensive.
For a seller- site is ehh
For a buyer- TERRIBLE! No returns, no assistance, nothing.
Awful service and wouldn't buy on again! To sell, would be better if the fees they take were lower. No room to make money..
Everything you sell over $500 has to go to their headquarters for authentication, and they've been holding a Moncler jacket that I sold, and shipped the very next morning, for 4 days! And they won't respond to emails. I keep getting the auto responses "due to COVID blah blah blah." Well, I still sent my jacket out the VERY NEXT MORNING after it sold and didn't use the lame COVID excuse.
If you're going to remain open for business and still charge your FULL FEE, you better offer FULL SERVICE.
I'm sick of these bullsh*t companies.
I'm complaining to the BBB and the Attorney General of California now. They think they can just hold your merchandise and money, indefinitely.
They're the worst. All of these companies are getting so bad. Nowhere to turn anymore except for your local consignment shops. Those are the only ones you can trust. Seriously.
I received my order fast, free shipping. I needed one thing that I did not find it in the city I live in. Poshmark had it. I ordered the merchandise and I got it quickly at a good price. The packing was so nice with a thank you card coming with my order.
Horrible customer service on an item I never received. Took my money, withheld from the seller and won't return it. Now I have to file a claim with my credit card company. Terrible experience - never again.
I've had nothing but great experiences on here! You can use this code electraheart26 and save $10 off your first purchase and free shipping! Just type in the code when you sign up!
I purchased a jean jacket on Poshmark, but even though I ordered my usual size, it was too tight. When I tried to return it, the return was denied. The moral to this story is shop Amazon. You can trust them to stand behind their stuff.
If a seller can't give you the brand name of an item it is generally cheap Chinese stuff. Sellers can buy these items from Poshmark wholesale site or Chinese sites. No brand names, in my case a sweater with no tags whatsoever. I received a sweater probably purchased for $1.99 and resold at $50. It went in the trash. Sometimes they're listed as "boutique" items. No brand name means literally junk no matter how good the picture looks.
I really wish someone had warned me of how dangerous Poshmark is, it's an open online forum that allows scammers to prey on those who innocently want to buy and sell consignment. There is no way to contact Poshmark, you can email them but good luck getting a response, basically your emails get $#*! into oblivion along with your money and property and they don't care because either way they're getting their cut right? Complete and total bull$#*! please don't be a victim to this company, there are so many scammers circling like sharks just waiting to take your money and your things!
I am new to Poshmark and I got scammed *******@hollister_bby
She wanted to do a trade and I being new got taken advantage of. I sent her the items and then she didn't send me anything.
As a seller lately I have had largely scammers returning items they damaged and when it was USPS fault the Posh Review Brigade blames me that it was undisclosed damage. THEN I was just shadow-banned for no apparent reason. YES! Shadow-banned. My site is there and says I have over 900 listings but none of them can be seen by anyone including me since last Thursday and none of my 3 emails to Support concerning this issue have been answered and it has been five days. What a joke it has become. Sold some things in past month but a lot of rude lowballers trying to buy my gold below spot. It was good for a bit during May and June but now it has gone downhill FAST!
I recently bought a garment listed as Small that would not even fit a skinny 8-year old (I'm a size XS/S.) I sent the requested photos and asked for either a refund or an exchange. Poshmark refused both. The company obviously places little value on customer satisfaction. I will not be buying from them again.
I've been on Poshmark for ~8mos and have made 9 purchases: 4/10 were 'meh' to mediocre, 4/10 were satisfactory, and 1/10 was from probably the coolest seller that I've dealt with!
The reason though for the 1/5 rating is because for the past few weeks, I've been pelted with SPAMS from not only the e-mail account that I registered with Poshmark, but ALSO my primary account that I mistakenly used last month to log in to Poshmark! I'm now getting identical SPAMS on both e-mails almost simultaneously! I've had that primary account for OVER HALF MY LIFE without getting SPAMMED on it, and the ONLY link between this and the e-mail I use with Poshmark, is POSHMARK! This conclusively tells me that Poshmark stores every e-mail address, even non-related to login, and it tells me that either their IT dept. is incompetent or they sell member e-mail addresses!
I've now disabled my primary e-mail address, created a new one, and spent a few hours e-mailing all my family and friends my new primary address!
POSHMARK IS A JOKE! > :(
Poshmark is some sort of cult app
There are sellers on there trying to be the best posh seller ever for rewards like becoming a host or to keep sharing and liking items. They always want sellers on the app like obsessed. From what I heard before COVID they were having special invitations parties to meet in NYC and other places for top sellers only to put you in a pyramid scheme to buy a sell there wholesale inventory at retail price. They take so much of your money in fees and shipping it's hard to sell small items or lower price items like mac lipstick. Because the shipping price and lipstick price combined you might as well buy local at mac store.
A few months ago I ordered dance shoes that were pictured and marketed as "NEW." I received order and the shoes were used! I followed the return policy but they did not hold the seller accountable for fraud. My next order for something different was tracked as delivered but NEVER showed up at my home. POSHMARK is a scam!
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
