Pros:
Great filtering system
Many sellers ship fast
Bundle deals are good
Best app to sale items, I have sold items faster using this app (but read cons below)
Cons:
The Poshmark fee as a seller is high, they keep a lot of money from the item you're selling especially if it's a lower value item (ex. You only get to keep $1 out of a $4 item).
The shipping price is the same no matter if the item is small, it's always $6.
Not a good app to use when buying low value items.
Poshmark customer service is horrible when it comes to getting questions answered. I tried to contact them about an issue that the post office was giving me about their pre-paid shipping label. They never answered me, they just canceled the order. I lost the sale and that customer.
Poshmark charged my account for an item that I did not purchase. The item was supposedly purchased late at night, and since there is only a three 3 hour window to cancel a purchase... if you are asleep... there is no way to get out of the sale. Word of warning, do not leave your account information for Poshmark to automatically debit... they will do it... and they will do it without consent. They will not refund money... they will allow the bank to cover disputed charges. It is fraudulent related business behavior..
Posh love? What a joke I made an offer on an item and the buyer left me a nasty note then blocked me from her site. What a $#*!! Decline the offer like a big girl! Everyone has the right to bid whatever they want! How rude! Don't have time for the nasty sellers. Done buying from that site! Plus all sales final so I have items that don't fit or don't look as nice as the pic and your stuck with it. Don't waste your time or money! Also, lots of scamming!
This is the first time I sold on Poshmark and I am soooo disappointed. Not only did I sell my almost new items for a low price and got taken a huge portion by Poshmark fees but I actually never received payment from them! I requested $1800+ to be transferred to my bank account and it's been weeks, almost a month and I haven't received a dime. When I reached out to Poshmark they said the funds were transferred to my account. I sent another email to them confirming my bank account number and I never heard back from them. I've been trying to contact them but I am being ghosted and no one will answer my calls and their old outdated answering machine is full. This is such a $#*!ty company, worst customer service, and they really don't care about the users of the platform. They should get shut down from all the complaints they have. They are fraudsters!
Only 3 days to ask for a refund. Then you have to submit photos and they may or may not give you a refund. If the seller deliberately sells an item with issues but does not disclose them in photos or description, too bad. I've had issues 2 times with photos provided that showed the problems with the items. I will never purchase from Trashmark, I mean Poshmark again! I wish they would make the sellers more accountable.
Bought vintage Corning ware off a posh mark seller, it was very well wrapped.
Canada post absolutely shattered the dish and when I requested a refund posh mark wanted pictures I didn't have of the box ( thrown in garbage that was already collected) refused refund.
Not posh mark sellers fault at all. The site/app posh mark is at fault.
Purchase brand new grey Uggs Aug 28 for $90. Pick up PO Box on Sept 5th. Uggs had been worn. I emailed Postmark immediately with attached pictures. I have been emailing Postmark every since. Had communication with seller do not except money. I want it returned to me. Postmark email me to Sept 15th saying it was to late. The money is with seller, so no refund.
When I first started using Poshmark I liked it a lot. Their website and app is user-friendly and they incorporate the social media aspect that we are familiar with to the buying & selling experience. HOWEVER, Poshmark charges a fee of 20% of your sale. This fee doesn't allow you to make any type of money and then you have to increase your prices so that you don't loose money on your inventory. I highly recommend Ebay instead of Poshmark they have a fee of 9% and a max of $50 on all sales. Poshmark's fee makes it useless to sellers. I rated one start because I think it is important to not support businesses that extract too much money from the e-commerce market. It starts to look quite "scammy" when businesses charge fees that no longer support a profit margin for sellers. Which then results in hiked up prices for buyers or losses on inventory for sellers.
I've been purchasing from posh for about six month with only two issues one a dress that was a knockoff and was damaged and another was a pair of shoes that were listed the wrong size. Posh cs is non existent so they refused to help me with either one so I opened a dispute with my credit card and posh suspended my account. So if you don't let their sellers rip you off, they will suspend you. Heads up!
I've been a member of Poshmark since 2004 and have thoroughly enjoyed it and have purchased several designer bags from Gucci, Louis Vuitton to Burberry. I have always been happy with all my purchases and have always felt safe and confident in knowing my purchases are 100% authentic. I also love the "posh ediquette" that each member has for one another. I have never had any negative experiences in my 12 years of buying. I hope to start selling soon!
Several times they blocked my closet and account without any justified reason, no apologies after my proofed refutation, and my account is still blocked. It looks like nobody cares.
Besides that: many fraudulent emails which are annoying.
The only way to avoid this is to cancel my account in this company.
Terrible app, no protection so liars win - they purchase an expensive item and then lie and claim they revived something else and send false photos - total bs - this app is built for scammers (probably by scammers)
I asked a question to a seller. The seller then offered a lower price and lower shipping. I accepted the lower price. I would not gave purchased the item otherwise. I was charged the original price and regular shipping. I notified Poshmark immediately. I didn't hear back from them after several emails. I emailed a different department and finally heard back from someone. They said there was nothing they could do, which is obviously not true. I went back and forth several times and they refused to fix it for me. They do not allow you to talk to the seller direct. Very disappointed in Poshmark and their non existent customer service.
I bought a designer purse from a seller named Samantha Vieira, from Connecticut, I thought I was getting a good deal. I knew it was used, but she said it was still in good condition. Cost me 57.00 with shipping. I got it today, it's complete garbage. Stained all to hell, the strap she said came with it is not here (not that it matters, I'll never carry this) it's literally garbage. I messaged posh, and immediately Samantha begins posting, telling me off. I means that they sent her a copy of my complaint before they even responded to me. Very had business. Not professional at all, childish really. No. I wouldn't give Poshmark, or Samantha, even one star.
Tried it for the first time. They claimed what I ordered was shipped and never arrived. Received a bogus USPS link. I'd stay away. I got scammed for $200. Told them I would blast them on social media for being crooks.
I've been a posher since April of last year. They charge 20% commission! And 5.95 shipping for the buyer. I sold a lulu lemon jacket for $35 and the buyer had to pay $41 (with shipping) and I only earned $28. How is this fair? You have to waste your paper and ink to print out the shipping label and gas to drop off the mail box and poshmark literally get 20% commission plus the $5.95 shipping. I honestly don't think usps charges poshmark $5.95 for shipping. They might be stealing from us poshers.
When I started buying and selling on Poshmark the shipping was reasonable, $4.95. It went up a dollar last year. They just announced that it's going up again to $6.49! That is so rediculous. I understand that you get 1-3 day shipping but I think at this point we should have a choice of shipping method. This is going to affect everyone's sells because shipping is now more than some of the items. Makes me sad but I think I'm done buying with Poshmark.
I ordered a pair of J Brand High Waisted Maria jeans on Poshmark. Not only was the tag completely different, but the size was off by about two sizes (probably because they washed the item incorrectly or something because it seemed like it shrunk). I tried to return the jeans and Poshmark customer service sided with the seller.
Now I have a useless pair of jeans that are way too small in the legs. I will not be selling them on Poshmark.
If you enjoy non-active sellers, unresponsive sellers, no communication, poor customer service, and sellers who have no intention of shipping, Poshmark is for you. About 50% of your purchases will never ship (plus, you have to wait for a ridiculous amount of time to request a cancellation/refund). Mercari sellers are responsive, & in my experience they ship the next day. Poshmark seriously needs to get it together. They should not allow non active seller pages, and in my opinion, they should REQUIRE communication. OH & "expedited shipping", your only option, costs $7.11... so 1-3 days after your seller finally decides to ship your package (they are allowed to diddle $#*! around for 7-10 days without communicating with you), you get expedited shipping. It's basically the SmartPost of the internet.
I am done with Poshmark. In the last year about half of my purchases were either shipped 7 days or later or not at all. Sellers do not respond when asked if they plan to ship. And Poshmark holds on to your money for at least 7 days before you can ask for a refund. Sellers hardly ever post measurements and the majority dont bother to respond when asked. It's like they don't give a damn to really sell anything. I feel badly for the honest sellers on there, but life is too short to put up with this BS. My last purchases were on Jan 19. It is Jan 28 and I am still waiting for them to ship and because it's a weekend, I can't even ask for a refund until Jan 30. I ordered something of ebay the same day that arrived on the 22nd and two more purchases on Wednesday that arrived on Saturday. Since Poshmark refuses to do anything about these horrible sellers, there's really no reward for respecting buyers. Ebay it is.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
