If you can find a good seller with good "love notes" i would recommend buying from those folks only. The biggest issue i have with this app is the 5.95 shipping for EVERYTHING no matter the price or weight. Also the20% that is taken for each sale so if you sell something you have to mark up the price then people want to low ball you on everything. From my own experience it seems like everyone thinks that $10 is a good offer on just about anything no matter what you listed the items for. For me the most frustrating thing is when buyers do not rate you or even go into the app once the item is delivered and simply click 1 button to say the item was received so then payment is not released for 4 days! This has happened on the last 6 sales that I had. How lazy can people really be?! Especially in a world where everyone has their phone in their hand 24/7? The app is ok but the people who use it are extremely rude!
I am a first time Posher shopper. I ordered a pair of shoes from one vendor and a pair of boots from another vendor. Both were listed my size and both were misrepresented. I received the shoes and they were labeled half size smaller and 2 days later received the boots which were labeled a half size larger. I am still not believing it. I filed a complaint and the issue was resolved. I was sent a free shipping label to return the shoes. I am now going through the same process with the boots. Customer service is lengthy bit it worked. No complaints there. Said all that to say all reviewers are not competitors nor "lazy cows. It's possible they have had a bad experience like myself.
So many fake bags! I have purchased 2 LV on here and was told they were authentic. Well they arent. Poshmark has too many scammers and Im the dummy that was duped. Lol. They take weeks to refund and approve your "case" never respond to emails. I cant wait to resolve this so I can delete this awful app! Btw when it first was up an running it was awesome, sold alot on here. But BUYER BEWARE when you spend alot of money and you are duped, it takes a long time to resolve and get your money back.
So over it.
I have been buying and selling on Poshmark for a year now. I have not had a bad experience like some of the other reviewers, but I always ask a lot of questions (measurements, any flaws, etc.) before purchasing. Motivated, honest sellers will answer your questions in a timely manner. If you do not get communication, that is a red flag to avoid that person! Check out the seller's profile, read their comments and comments left by others. Remember, merchandise is often used, so you cannot rely on what you think your size is, you have to ask questions and compare to measurements of your current clothing or buy brands that you know will fit you. If you do this and the merchandise is not as described, Posh will assist you (you have a designated period of time to contact them). Posh looks at the listing description and your communication with the seller. If you didn't ask for clarification before purchasing, Posh cannot tell your were mislead and will respond by telling you that sizes vary; because after all, they really do! Motivated sellers ship within 3 days, unless otherwise noted. If they do not ship within 7 days, you can cancel, and it is very simple to do so (I did that once). No problem, that seller didn't need my business! Overall, Posh is a retail site, don't get caught up in the drama some provide with the comments. If someone is unfair or rude, block them! Your should be there to look for great deals on merchandise (you'll find many), not to chat anyway :)
Absolutely horrible customer service. My item did not fit and I wanted to return it and Poshmark would not accept my return as I guess I didn't ask the seller enough questions about the fit, which is ridiculous! Since when do you contact sellers and/or department stores and ask about fit and measurements before you order to ensure that u are able to return item? In the real world we are able to return items if they do not fit correctly. I have e-mailed Poshmark numerous times and keep getting the same e-mail back stating that "the item was as described, so return request denied." I didn't say it wasn't as described, I said it didn't fit! There is a number to call, but all you get is a recording and they will not return phone calls. This is the absolute WORST place to do business with and I would NOT recommend it to anyone!
You will love Posh if you just take a minute to look for the seller love notes. If the seller has many love notes and sales you will have a great experience. Where else can you bargain with a seller and have fun searching for unique items? EBay can be risky too if you don't research your individual seller. I will not buy eBay. But I love posh!
I bought an item yesterday and received the confirmation order. However since this was my first time I was stupid and failed to realize that the seller has not updated their profile since August of 2016! I made this purchase January of 2017. She also never responds to comments on her profile. Even better, this stupid website gives sellers 7 days to ship their order! What a joke! At least with eBay you have to ship within 2 days. So now, I will most likely never receive the item and nothing will happen to the seller because she obviously doesn't even use her account. What a waste.
Think of POSmark as high school all over again. A bunch of snobs reporting people thinking they know every policy about this horrible site. I encountered a scam from Nigeria today and they blame the victim, not the scammer! I would strongly discourage everyone from joining this site. They also take 20% of your profit, unlike eBay, which takes only 10%.
Poshmark is a great way to get rid of stuff that you have that doesnt fit you anymore or gifts that you have waited too long to return, etc. The key is to give excellent customer service, be honest about what you are selling, always always ship in a day or two and provide good pics. I've been doing it for about 4 years and have always had great expeirences and made quite a bit of money. Trading is shady... it can be good and it can be very bad... trade at your own risk. It is up to you to trust the person you are trading with and the best way is to trade inside of poshmark meaning reduce your price to as little as possible and buy at the same time as the person you are trading with so as to both pay the same and be able to utilize Shipping through poshmark to ensure your items ship at basically the same time with tracking. You get more chances of your stuff being sold when you add as many friends as friends as possible and share as much as possible also sharing your friend's closets. Soooo that's it in a nutshell... just play fair and be nice and you will win with Poshmark! I'm a Posher for life!
Let the buyer beware as Poshmsrk offers virtually zip customer service even if the seller "misbehaves".
Item advertised as size Large - received item with tag of Small - would not allow return or refund - Poshmark indicated sizes vary and item not mis-represented - REALLY
Seller, Dena Spadafora at ******* Liberty Trail, North
Liberty IN *******-9349. Is a lying cheating thief and Poshmark did nothing to rectify the situation - CUSTOMERS BEWARE, if you get CRAP that is not as advertised Poshmark will NOT help you and you will get SCREWED!
I've been on posh for 3+ years. I've seen the good and the bad. I've sold over $15K there and have purchased from reputable sellers. Out of all the online sites like Tradesy and Posh, I find posh to be safer for items over $500 as they are authenticated and as a seller, I feel safe sending to headquarters so a bait and switch is not pulled. Just wish they would get rid of all the fakes they allow sellers to list. I hate fakes and everything they stand for.
BEFORE buying ask the condition. If the seller does not respond with a positive, don't buy. Many selling a bunch of old garbage.
Poshmark is a great idea, but they fail to execute it very well. First, their shipping options are nonexistent. I've had my eye on several items that seemed well priced, but when you take the $5.95 shipping fee into consideration, the idea of going through with the purchase seems ridiculous-- especially when the item in mind is a small object (e.g., earrings) that should not cost much to ship. Second, customer service is only available via email, thus, response time is long. If you need fast attention, you're out of luck. I had changed my shipping address then purchased an item, but the new address was not reflected in the label (another ding). When I requested that the label be reissued, it took two days for action, at which point the item had already shipped. Then once I did hear from someone, they had fixed the wrong address (the sender's) with my old address-- so now both the "to" and "from" addresses were the same address and also both my old address. Another day went by to be able to correct the new error... Needless to say, my item arrived in an untimely fashion.
I purchased Clark wallabees off of a seller and a day later "changed her mind" about selling the shoes! Very bad business! Not happy!
I ordered something from this website and made it clear that I needed it by a certain day and it never made it. That 1-3 day shipping option is a complete scam.
I ordered a shirt from this site and received it without difficulty. I also received an email stating that I ordered another item. I had not placed that order. I immediately sent an email stating that I did not order this item and wanted to make sure it was not shipped. They waited 2 days to return my email and it had already been shipped. You have only 3 hrs from the time you place your order to cancel it and you cannot return any items. Since I DID NOT place the order I did not cancel it within 3 hrs and could not get in touch with anyone who could help. I have sent multiple emails requesting assistance without success. Since the item I DID NOT order was more than $100, I am arguing to get my money back. The item was not my size or anything I would dare wear in public so I am positive I DID NOT order this dress. The customer service is pathetic. I would never recommend this site to anyone!
Im pretty thrown back by some of the reviews on here. Every app has its downfall but this one has way more good things than bad. I find the customer service and seller protection outstanding. You can contact support at anytime and they ALWAYS respond. It can take a few days but then you get a friendly response and they take care of both the seller and buying. They really try to make both parties happy. Im have been upset by this at times in circumstances where i knew i was right and unfortunately, my customer was not. However poshmark is fair and with the 20% fee we pay on every item, they def SHOULD be. In-fact in the rare occasion that someone files a claim for an item that I shipped, poshmark has always found a happy middle, refunding the customer or allowing them to ship the item back to me. I make about $1000-$1200 a month selling on poshmark... have become quite the fashionista and brand expert and have increased my marketing knowledge even more enabling me to also be successful on sites such as instagram. Do I WISH they did not take so much money off... especially from the high prices items, SURE but the good still outweighs the bad by ten folds!
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
