I was able to talk freely with other single women. However, over time this website has refused communications unless I purchase an ongoing subscription. At one time the host's of this website's intentions were whole and positive. Now it has become a scheme as all the others.
I had high hopes for this site because I actually met someone who I managed to have a long term relationship with. But that was 6 years ago. Now the site is flooded with men who seem to use other people's photos to attract people.
There is an onslaught of men from outside of the US who cannot speak proper English, hide their true identities by limiting conversation to text, and actually ask for a handout.
There are numerous giveaways.
Don't waste your time. I don't know if the site properly screens people but behind the good looks and initial charm is something far more sinister.
Pathetic women on there
50% are fake
The other 50% are so far up their own ar$e I don't know why they don't date themselves they think they are that wonderful
They all looking for a dream man who must tick every one of the boxes they list on the bio. Not very realistic
90% of them seem to have have some form of degree education which is extremely dubious to me
Got to be better women offline I'm sure of. If not the species will die out. The ones on pof are truly terrible. They want the moon a stick and offer nothing in return
I live in Bergen County NJ, was on pof several years ago, met nice ladies. And free subscription. Can't see why anyone would ever need to pay. Had as many meet & greets as I could handle; calling & meeting was never an issue.
I've been on 4 months. For past 2 months, the site has been worthless. Endless fake profiles, and endless profiles with same photos I recall seeing over 5 years ago. Suspicious that many profiles with attractive photos of women are pof operatives, in other words, fake profiles designed to lure you. However. I've never paid for a pof subscription. But my free account is no longer active. I deleted my profile.
I had no complaints originally but I paid for upgraded membership. All indications were that it was a one time yearly fee and the site says they will only charge you if you elect automatic renewal. Well, THEY LIED... Then they give you the line that they do not give refunds. They have also refused to disclose any information on their business, like address, phone number or owner information for my lawyer...
They allow 1 message a day. Be careful they also have fake accounts messaging you and sending likes when it's actually accounts set up by the company to scam you to pay and see it. Pof has become one of the worst sites out of them all. Try others don't waste your time on here
I signed up one night then cancelled the next day. Not only was there any refund they they continue to charge my debit card. At least Jessie James used a gun. If you want to continue to see your money go sign up and get screwed too
I was going to join But after reading the pathetic accounts from folk I cannot afford to waste money!
Its all the same bogus men and women. People who have seemingly been around for ages. So they are not getting my monies after all.
Yes i am lonely and an older lady wanting to find a soul mate!
Why are there not decent sites offering decent rates plus real people?
Its all hinges on your feelings and if you believe. I dot think it happens its a sham..
Guys looking for sexual hookups - most are walking std carriers and assume that a condom will safeguard them against everything.
Those seeking sexual hookups need to stick to Craigslist and stop overloading the site with their quantity.
Tons of old, worn down guys looking for younger women (we don't want you), guys that resemble serial killers, married men/cheaters, swingers and other undesirable characters on there
What is with women on this site. They all covered in tattoos and proud of it. They even put it down as a hobby! Nothing says class like pics of an overweight woman proudly showing off her tattoos for all the world to see
They also seem to love putting photos up of the 4 cats and 3 dogs they own but what that has to do with anything I've no idea. All that does it make me think how bad the house must smell
That's like me putting my car up or my running shoes. Totally pointless. Love me love my dog is what I saw a lot in profiles. Nonsensical babble
They all put they have the most amazing friends an amazing job and just missing the final piece of the puzzle and love to brag how independent they are (which explains why they're single)
Just low class mostly average looking women all looking for a man way out their league.
Still at least they'll have their pets in old age when they're still single demanding Mr Perfect
Here's how it works:
1) You create a profile on the site.
2) The very instant you click the submit button (even if you did not post a photo or any detail) you have emails in your inbox of people "interested" in you. It's typical for these "people" (fake "robots") to be in their 20's while their profiles reflect 50's or so.
3) This automatic system that sends you fake profiles can be nothing BUT an inside job; in other words, the site is programmed to work this way.
The POF site is not founded on integrity whatsoever.
Authorities should really investigate this online scam.
The women on here are up their own $#*! and so far have all either been time wasters or turned out to have a boyfriend. Also the majority of them have serious mental issues which prevent a relationship from ever happening. Guys don't waste your time.
Probably the worst dating website I've ever used. I'm convinced more than half of these profiles are fake. I'm no Channing Tatum, but I'm no slacker either... I've gotten one too many "unread-deleted" responses from profiles that have been on this site FOREVER to not be suspicious. Not to mention the way they set up their recurring payment. Hmmm, when it sounds too good to be true, it normally is... and such is the case with POF.
I will not recommend POF to anyone else. My story is same here. Create an account and few hours later got deleted. No notice of any reason. There is no one you can call to get support. Only email support and no response.
I understand the site has to do their best defend from scam. However, that company need to be fair do male user by give them detailed information on why. Also allow us to defend ourselves.
I really have no idea why my account was deleted. That is really bad business practice.
Actually out of all the free sites, I invariably had the most success there. Awesome for hooking up. Without sounding like a total pig, I think I banged at least five girls within the first two dates on this site. Seriously.
I was on pof a few times and I met some disgusting creatures they were hardly human these women were nasty fat pigs with atrocious personalities one of them wanted me to buy her an engagement ring after about 3 months. And the last time I tried to sign up my account was deleted after I sent one or 2 emails that just said "hello". Dont waste your time you will meet a loser and regret it. Also if you send out 100 emails to 100 different girls dont expect a single one to reply. If they do reply they will chat but never meet you.
These people must be really stupid because they keep the same pattern. Born in another country, parent died, someone moved them to US, got advanced degree while in US, doing very well (one even said that he was paid in gold), have wonderful family, moving to state of the person to whom they're sending the message in 2 months (literally the same number of months) horrible grammar, want your phone number immediately because they're so in love with you, and on and on and on. Of course, they always have a wonderfully handsome picture. I deleted my profile.
I have encountered this site two different ways. I had an on and off boyfriend for years. One day during the time we were "on" I received a call from a girl who claimed she had been dating him for a year and they met on POF. Also that he had hit her in front of kids and threw her out in the rain. Needless to say we are permanently "off" now. Lol Fast forward two years later, I have a new boyfriend, we are relaxing on the couch and his phone is going off like crazy. I take a peek while he's checking it. He's getting messages from lo and behold POF. I guess this should let you know what type of guys are on this website.
Have no customer service - no phone, no email. Account says I am using wrong user name, password (which I'm not) but request for reset gets no response. How can a business based on internet traffic have no way of customers getting tech support. Get what you pay for - don't sign up for the upgrade!
Some of these guys are not willing to meet in a safe public place. One man immediately started asking me for sex, without even knowing my real true first name; & NOT wanting to meet me FIRST in person. Another guy requested that I immediately go to his house>& I have no clue at all what this jerk is truly like in person, & for real or in reality!>to me that is very CREEPY as hell. Another guy posted a pic that was at least 20 to 25 years old minimum. I have been so disappointed by online dating!:-( To me, online dating does seem to be full of "not worth it men" unfortunately for us women.:-(
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes it is if it's anything like my phone having the app sometimes shows that you're online all the time
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
