One of two sites that I have used that was actually good (other one was Mingle2day). I've met some lovely women here.
Beware of fakers and scammers from overseas and be suspicious when young and beatiful women approach you.
I get on there and call out the fakes, and they block me, because a woman with a single picture who is centerfold quality in looks and says she wants a relationship, blah blah blah, and all but says she is a virgin. I call them out, and say, this is a fake profile, they block you and pof terminates your account. But with 1000 or more men to a woman, they need the fakes ones to seem legitimate. Even the woman are complaining about the scams, and my profile spelled this out as well.
POF only allows you 3 messages per day unless you want to pay $12 per month.
That's all you need to know. It's complete garbage compared to pretty much anything.

The site is owned by IAC, who own Match, Tinder and OKcupid. They use this site to gather your data and information. That is why it is free to join. The site is NOT moderated because they need that data to survive. That means the site is FULL fakes and scammers. Web traffic and usage is falling so will they will allow everyone to join to make the site look like it is more popular than it is. Also everyday PoF itself adds hundreds of fake profiles, mostly female profiles, to try and attract more new users. If you join they WILL sell your information. You will be targeted by scammers.
How do I know? I work for IAC.
The women are REALLY angry on pof
It's full of oddballs and misfits who for some reason think they are great
You have short women saying they will only date tall men and unattractive women wanting good looking men. Lots of them are overweight and have glasses and chubby faces
They don't seem to understand the older you get the less choosy you can be
I saw one woman who didn't drive and didn't work but said you needed to work and have a car to contact her
Absolutely embarrassing the state of the females on this website. How does it get 3 stars?
When you finally get thru all the fake profiles and there are loads and loads, you will find all the females moaning they dont want one night stands + are sick of getting rude pics they just want to find a decent bloke, so you message them asking how they are and they either block you, ignore you or tell you your message isnt long enough
As the review below points out we aint talking hot models here but seems to me thats what they are wanting from any men that contact them
They will be on here for years pouting with their attitude they have of only replying to stunning hot guys so leave them to it, They should be grateful anyone messages them nevetmind get picky who they reply to.
Leave the dogs on there to catch fleas
Be careful please on this man Patrick Gallot from Haguenau, near Strasbourg. He says he is a widower with 2 children and wants to look forward for a true relationship. After a few days of knowledge he shows excessive interest and expressed himself with too sentimental words. Before the meeting he writes saying of being in Africa (in my case), with an urgent need of money because he needs to eat and pay in cash the hostel where he is located. Obviously he is a SCAMMER!
Ive been on and off POF for a couple years one man is always on there where I come back. CHRIS MINSKY phone number *******627. He will contact you asking for naked pictures then disappear. He contacted my sister two of our friend and me. LOL guess he didn't see the family resemblance between my sis and I. Anyway did the same thing to ALL of us I was on POF in Edmonton Alberta Canada. Watch out he's a pervert in the first degree!
ITS FREE and LIGHTLY SUPERVISED SO>>>>It is like any other dating or night out. You have to be careful and get to know people a little before diving in. I had great luck with finding prospective real dates. And met quite a few. People are not always what they project and that's just reality on the computer. I was real reserved overall, gave little personal info, and had little expectations until it got real in person. I am getting married to the last girl I met on this site after dating for over two years.
Trustpilot have allowed pof to spam their site with fake nonsensical reviews all giving 5*
Pof is rammed full of bots all advertising a scam site
When you finally find real women you'll soon wish you hadn't. Very disappointing standard to say the least. The funniest thing is they all want a male model with whom they have a connection with. Don't they realize a male model wouldn't need to be on here? None of them want normal they all demand absolute perfection. With what they're offering in return they have no chance
They ban you without warning or notice or anything! For the dumbest little things, and it's PERMANENT! No appeal nothing, ever, contact POF staff. Nothing, that's a rather $#*!ed way to treat members, and most obviously LOSE members to your competitors, what site sends members to their competition? Only stupid arrogant ones, remember myspace? The mighty will fall so take a good look at your stupid rules before you regret it, dumbasses.
I have had several members in the Los Angeles area say "Let's Meet"
I research their profile with a name search. When I send a message saying"Hey POF says you would like to actually meet me."
POF blocks my message because "this member is searching for other members with certain qualities. Try messaging some of your matches."
Now THIS Woman has told POF to tell Me that she Wants to Meet ME.
Not the guys POF has matched with her. But ME. But hey POF says No Way can U send her a Message. Because you don't fit what she is here looking for.!?! And they ask you for money.!?!
They get men to text women who say they are legal age. Then they get them to sext with them, once they've done that then their "father" contacts the man and tells him that he wants $1000 or $1500 to resolve the issue or they are going to send your info to the FBI and tell you that the "daughter" is only 15. Usually a 3rd person, and usually by the name of "mr davis" is involved. Supposedly an attorney or a member of ICAC. They threaten to contact family members. And authorities if you don't pay up.Do not be fooled by these people. If an underage girl were to have sent you a photo like that its on HER as far as committing wrong doing. Especially since she told you she was legal age. As far as a father taking $1000 instead of reporting a supposed sexual predator to the authorities... what father would do that? If you understood her to be legal age and this happens, then send all pertinent information to the authorities.
Yeah that site is a joke. Be careful of Tigersharkpat. I know him and he is a liar. He is full of drama. The horse he is on belongs to one of his x's and the picture of him standing was taking with one of his x's. She was the best women he will ever get. Hes a fool to let her get a way. I am one of his friends and i cant stand back anymore and let him treat ladies bad.He really made his profile look good but ladies just trust me its all lies. He will say that he a good guy and his x's are the ones that are crazy but trust me he can not be trust. He lies and breaks the law all the time. So stay away from him. I dont want to give this a rating but it wont let click on submit until I rate it so im only clicking on 1 just to submit.
It is now Feb 2022. I have been on and off POF since 2015. Mostly off as I work full time (professional career field). I have seen numerous women, (60%) with the same pictures today as in 2015. Wow, that's eight (8) years! Plus how long have those pictures been on since I first saw them. That concerns me regarding "reaching out" to them. Apparently they do not care about their profile as they show no concern about updating it. And yes, they show "on line" so it's not like they have left the site years ago. I have met several women on POF. I am not looking for marriage and NO, I am not a serial dater. I have never been scammed nor had a woman ask for money. The majority of women I have met (85%) look like their pictures. I have read some frightening, negative reviews and believe each one is true. I consider myself lucky thus far and do my "homework" before meeting. Best of luck in all your online dating endeavors.
I've used POF on and off for several years. Paid service, and free service. The free service used to be really good. Paying for it opened up a few more features, but didn't make it a much better value to be a paid subscriber. In the past months I have noticed features being removed from the free subscription. Obviously, to be made available on the paid subscription. This is lame and greedy. How about leaving the great free subscription alone, and restoring the renoved features, and improving upon your paid subscription service? If I'm going to have to pay for a good dating site, I recommend Match.com.
Would love to know how many messages these females get
They talk about how there must be a spark but theyre totally missing the point
If you are a 4-10 in the looks department as all of them seem to be you cant really talk about demanding a spark can you? If you are a 10-10 then you can say this. But the females on here arent anywhere close. Thats the problem, i have no issue with average or plain looking females but dont come on POF and start talking how you must find a man you have a spark with and have a daft OTT checklist of what a partner must have - when you are average looking or carrying extra weight.
Its basically average looking females demanding ridiculously good looking men. Not gonna happen is it? Am i the only one who can see why they are all bitter man haters? The word deluded springs to mind
All of the dating sites I've looked at are cynical businesses profiting from often sad and lonely people. That's the baseline.
Plenty of Fish at least allows unsubscribed members to make limited contact with potential matches and, uniquely, allows these to reply.
Others oblige you to pay to send a personalised message - and pay again to receive a reply!
If your political views aren't far leftist liberal your profile will be deleted even if you are a paid member. Even if you've only had your full paid membership for a day you will be deleted. This site is extremely sexist against men. It's mostly run by women who are staunch liberals.
If you're a guy I wouldn't waste your time. From what I can tell the women get bombarded with hundreds of messages from desperate men every day and I'm going to be totally honest they aren't that great in the first place
So what happens is a woman who is at best average gets 100s of messages and thinks she's better than she really is and starts acting like a diva. In reality the men are to blame for being so needy and messaging women that aren't that hot in the 1st place
I wouldn't bother signing up unless you're a woman then you'll get loads of men desperate for your attention
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes it is if it's anything like my phone having the app sometimes shows that you're online all the time
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
