Bought a GTA account, my money came out of my account, I sent the confirmation, ID, bank card, and selfie in verification, despite them saying I wouldn't have to do that if I payed with Skrill, which I did.
But I sent everything anyway, and they kept saying oh can you send this image better, or can you reposition your hand in this picture?
Everything is clear to see and now despite sending photos of everything and some more than once, they haven't responded to my last 3 emails.
Seems like they take your money and then find excuses to not have to forward this onto the seller.
Will be submitting a proper complaint, and will update this review if it gets sorted soon.
Proceed with caution.
Step 1: jump thru hoops to buy
Step 2: get verified to buy
Step 3: buy
Step 4: wait for payment verification
Step 5: never get it and cancel
I stared at my phone for 30 mins before placing my order knowing this was a stupid mistake based on the negative reviews lately. Give or take 3 hours later here I am. Should have listened
Go to g2g. 10 mins or less and your taken care of. I actually feel sorry for the sellers here
Hi Stefan,
You probably misunderstood what happened or might have missed our agent's reply:
-----
Thank you for sending your documents.
We have reviewed the documents you attached and noticed that some of it did not meet our requirements. Thus, we need you to send another photo of the following:
1. A clear photo of you or “Selfie” while holding your government-issued identification document, as proof of ownership. Your face must not be blocked and should be clearly identifiable and please make sure that the details on the ID are readable in the photo.
If you have any additional questions, please reply to this email.
-----
This was sent; we needed a revised copy of your selfie. The rest of your documents were actually good to go and we just needed that.
Best regards,
Richard
So i'm posting this hoping i can get the WHY you need all this personal info to verify a purchase when no one else needs any of this info. In fact brick and mortar store make you run your own card not for convience but so that their employees no longer have to verify your identity. Because the company then no longer liable. And any personal info on your server you are liable for. If you get hacked and all that info ends up sold. Your company guess LIABLE. So please some tell me the "security Reasons" why you think it's your companies job to verify Identity. PAYPAL and GPay and other such company literally provide the service of this so that your customers don't have to send their personal info to you over the internet. And AND it take the LIABLITY out of your hands of having all of the person info go through your systems. SO please EXPLAIN THE $#*!ING WHY!
Hi Zane,
Our verification process is in place to verify your identity with us and your authorization of the payment account being used. This prevents instances of fraud and theft. If you Google "KYC" (know your customer), it should give you an idea of how we operate and do things.
Your documents and information during the verification process are treated confidentially and professionally; they are never shared outside of PlayerAuctions and they are only ever used for verification. Further, once your ticket with us closes, after a few days your documents are deleted. We never keep them for very long. Moreover, our servers use data encryption.
The comparison with brick and mortar stores, actually even with other online shops, has no bearing on the matter, I'm afraid. We process hundreds of payments on a weekly basis and we have an ethical and lawful obligation to prevent fraud, and we can do this by knowing more about their customers and if they really own the payment account being used. Pictures of IDs, selfies, payment receipts, etc. are all to determine the buyer's ownership.
We never force anyone to send these information and buyers are free to cancel the order if they do not like this. PlayerAuctions also does not collect payment; the charge you see on your payment account is in reserved status so the amount of money involved can't be used on other purchases as a double charge. Your bank/provider only actually sends the full payment to PlayerAuctions when the transaction is approved, and only after 2-5 business days.
Hope this answers your doubts and inquiries.
Best,
Richard
I bought golds for GuildWars2 and after my payment was received, they suspended my account for no reasons... I reached support but they weren't of any help and now they aren't responding at all. I'd like to receive what i paid for and for my account to NOT be suspended for no reasons like that after i paid for a service. Thank you for your time!
Hello Alexandre,
There is a reason — we found urgent security issues with your payment. I'm sorry but we cannot reinstate your account due to this.
We declined your payment and you will be refunded back in 2-5 business days.
Best regards,
Richard
I buy all my games stuff from player auctions. The sellers usually get you the items in 20 minutes or less. The sellers stuff is always accurate. Great site.
The layout of their website is very nice and easy to navigate. Easy to contact them should there be any issues and great team behind the business. Fast delivery by the seller. Did require me to send some proof of ID however support cleared my payment within 10 minutes of me providing the documents!
Just bought stuff today. The site looks real and hopefully, I'll receive my order soon. Would totally recommend trying it out!
Hello I tried to order over 100$ in wow gold on this site and I literally got charged 3 times for that one purchase that was my first issue
2nd issue was the fact that I had to send in a picture of my I'd, visa and recipe for the purchase I tried and tried but the recipients email address kept flagging it as spam so I couldn't...
3rd issue was trying to get ahold of someone to help me there supposed support literally sucks I had 3 different people message me and not one actually tried to stick around and help and you can only contact them via email and that's even if you get a reply back!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE! There's a lot better then this site out there
Currently attempting to get my money back as I canceled my order and said F**K them!
Hello Colin,
I was able to check and there are indeed 3 charges. I'm sorry if this confused you, but we never charge more than once. In fact, all charges made are buyer/user-initiated. You may have incurred 2 additional charges if you accidentally clicked "Pay now" more than once. This is the case with most purchases online. If not that, you may have closed the page prematurely and re-opened it, or the refresh button may have been pressed during the process.
Rest assured that these charges are already being reversed and you will be automatically refunded.
I saw your ticket and our team was replying there. We respect your decision to cancel the order and we're sorry you didn't like the verification process.
Regards,
Richard
I have had an account with PlayerAuctions since 2014. Previous purchases on the site were easy/enjoyable experiences. Recently, I have tried to make purchases where the site suddenly requires a purchase verification process of sending in multiple images with sensitive personal information as proof of identity and funds. I can understand this from a security standpoint; however, they request this information AFTER taking the funds from the bank account.
Additionally, after providing the information, they still haven't "verified" the payment. The site says the verification takes minutes after providing the requested images. This is straight out false. This process is taking far too long.
When I contacted their "customer support" through the proper channels, I received NO response. It's as if they don't actually have any customer service at all. This site was great in the past. It has seriously gone down hill and is no longer worth the hassle of using. I recommend anyone looking into this site to avoid it and use a different website for their related purchases.
Hi Tyger,
I totally understand your sentiments and upon checking the ticket, I accept that the delay was with us. Rest assured that I will make a report to the team's head about this. I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience and long wait you had to endure for this order.
I talked to the team and I was informed we received an influx of requests and orders over the weekend; I know this should not be an excuse, and of course I do not mean it to be that way, but we will definitely use this feedback to iron out the delays and issues over the week. I am sorry again.
In case you wish to try purchasing again, please check if you can use Coinbase as an alternative payment; Coinbase does not require verification.
Best regards,
Richard
I understand the need for security and verification, however what I do not understand is why your reps are so pedantic while trying to "verify". It should not take dozens of photos, time spent by YOUR customers to sharpen images up, or touch them up in a photo editor, news flash for you all, about 99% of the time the ID photos are not clear, this is how they are taken and presented to the individual at the DMV, meaning your customers have zero control over this, you all need to realize that they are not going to be crystal clear. You all are asking for photos of the id, bank card information, payment information, card information as well this should be more then sufficient to confirm identity, hell if you get pulled over by law enforcement they don't even ask for this much. I work for a credit card company, and we don't even ask for this much information if an id is accepted by the government it should be enough for a pc gaming company. You all need some serious lessons in customer service and common sense. I would give this zero stars if the site allowed it, and I am a customer of over ten years.
Hi Jacob,
Thank you for carefully explaining your experience with the payment verification. I am extremely sorry, it was not our intention to be pedantic and appear uncaring in facilitating the process. We have the requirements in place to prevent fraud and instances of photo manipulation. As a company that processes payments, we've had many dealings with users who photo-edit their image submissions. It has led our process to become critical of these submissions so we require them in the best possible way we can check for possible photo manipulation. I understand we take more precautions than other companies and this is only because we want the payment to be free from fraud.
In case you'd like to try again, I recommend using Coinbase. As it's a stored wallet payment, verification is no longer required and your payment will go through automatically.
I am sincerely sorry again for the inconvenience, Jacob.
Best regards,
Richard
DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE! You will never get anything! 20 mns delivery? Never! 9 hrs and still nothing!
Hi Erika,
We sent you a verification request and you were notified of this through your PlayerAuctions registered email but you didn't reply to it — you probably missed the email.
You will now be automatically refunded on this. If you do not wish to go through this process, you may use Coinbase which skips the verification part.
Regards,
Richard
Warning to everybody. This is a scam - bogus payment verification process resulting in bank charges and delayed refund if any. Worst thing I experienced on the internet. I wonder why these people haven't been prosecuted :(
Hello Iordan,
You canceled your payment for the orders and refunds are not instant, they are processed in 2-5 business days.
I'm afraid this is a gross misunderstanding of how payments work. When you make payments like these, your bank/payment provider puts a hold on that amount of money so it becomes reserved and it cannot be used on other purchases. PlayerAuctions doesn't actually receive your money and when the payment is authorized, that's when it gets processed to us, also in 2-5 business days.
Your payments have been voided and I would have to ask you to please wait 2-5 business days (weekdays are the only days counted).
So no, we're not and should not be prosecuted for something proper and legal. I'm afraid your scam comment is defamatory and I hope this explains things.
You're going to receive the refund soon which proves the scam accusation is unwarranted and false.
Regards,
Richard
Buyer/seller beware. Was selling my account on their site. Buyer disputed the account after receiving it. Then Player Auctions refunded buyer and my account was lost. They buyer changed the information and now has gotten away with the scam. Don't use this site if you want to sell your account. Only if you want to get a free one. Absolutely terrible experience.
Hello John,
Your buyer was refunded on this order because he was able to prove that you scammed him. You probably won't admit that, but that was the result of our findings based on evidence. The account was lost because you could not recover it; recovery should be possible if you have the recovery information for it, and you should have the recovery information if you are the first owner. This means you aren't, and the account shouldn't be sold on the site in the first place. If something happens to the account, buyers can raise a dispute and sellers should assist them by recovering the account. I'm afraid this is all we have to say.
Best regards,
Richard
I used the site frequently in 2017, and never had a problem. I always got what I paid for. But now it seems they've decided it's more profitable to just take your money and never deliver your gold.
After making a purchase using my debit card a notification popped up from the site saying "payment failed, and some made up crap about my account not having enough money and to try again or use a new card", which is hilarious because I was watching my bank account and they charged me moments after submitting my order. So I figured what the hell, if it happened once it could have been a mistake; but if it happens TWICE, then it's intentional.
So I went through the process again and what do you know; same thing. Payment failed. Yet my bank account was CHARGED AGAIN.
Luckily I have everything recorded and have bank statements and screenshots that prove everything. So after I call my bank when they open up I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and explore any legal action I can take against this company.
I'm not sure what happened to this site in these last few years, but if you're looking to buy game currency I would highly recommend you go somewhere else.
Customer support has failed to reply apart from an automated message, if this gets fixed I'll update my review; but as of now I am VERY DISSATISFIED with this service.
Acc filtering needs improvement, but otherwise the UI is nice and navigation is easy. The checkout process is also a breeze. Only complaint I have is no option for PayPal, but GPay isn't too bad.
Thank you for the kind rating and for the valuable inputs, Matthew. We always let our tech/website team know about feedback, so thanks again. :)
This site is legit as $#*!. This is exactly what MMO trading needed.
They take it seriously and don't $#*! around.
Thank you very much for the kind review, Zachary. :)
Playerauctions help team and inferior payment systems always seems to fail and leave a rift in your bank for the best part of week.
Then waiting on the other end is when you finally make a buy and it runs into issues. I got a refund for the account. But that is minimal in comparison to to my other investments into the account. They banned the seller. He seemed to want to cooperate but PA stopped any chance of that happening.
Looking forward to the "sincere apology and knowing how frustrating this can be" Richard. Save yourself the hassle and time and go somewhere else so you do not share my experiences.
Hello Josh,
I checked the image you attached and was able to check order 7132065 on our end. Can you verify if this is the correct order ID? Because as per checking, there are no disputes and no tickets received for this from our end. The order completed just fine on our tracker.
If you'd like to check on an order, please confirm the order ID and/or write it in an updated review so I can check for you what went wrong.
Regards,
Richard
I purchased a measly $14 on this site and I did not receive my items. I contacted support about this situation and they basically have not done a dam thing! Then it takes forever for them to even contact you. The seller on the site has basically been playing games with me and I can prove it! This is a scam sight stay the $#*! away unless you like giving your hard earned money away!
Hello Bryan,
Our staff has already frozen your seller's disbursement so they can mediate on the order and help you with this. This was done 3 days ago and your ticket number is: 737373.
Regards,
Richard
I purchased an account and all seemed fine up until a few weeks ago. When I made the purchase, I purchased their insurance in case something went wrong. Well, the account was reclaimed by the seller and when I filed the claim, playerauctions sided with the scammer. Even with plenty of evidence showing that it was no longer accessible to me, they still sided with the scammer. Not only was the account a scam, their insurance is also a scam. They will do whatever they can to side with the seller so they don't have to pay out. Do not use this site! It is a SCAM!
Hi Robert,
I'm sorry for any inconvenience you experienced, but please note, the insurance is not an instant cash out and to keep things fair between the buyer and seller, any claims should come with compelling evidence as explained by our disclaimer: https://i.imgur.com/cfkvypL.png
Our support line is always open if you need help or have more to show for the case: support@playerauctions.zendesk.com
Best regards,
Richard
I have been doing business with these guys for almost two years now. Spent a few hundred dollars, pretty close to a thousand. Now they are asking me to send in copies/pictures of my photo ID, My Credit Card, screen shots from my bank account. Hell NO. Been buying stuff from you for two years using the exact same credit card and address. If you have a problem now, I will just find another site. Sorry, not giving you all of that info. The funny thing is, they IMMEDIATELY put a hold on the cash for your credit card. Then take 7-10 business days to release it. ROFL Not only did they put a hold on it, but they put a hold on it THREE TIMES.
Hi John,
I'm sorry again if you didn't like the process but we need this to validate the identity of our users and their ownership of the payment being used. We have to do this at different stages as a random security check. We thank you for your years of patronage but we strictly have to put our security first because we have an adamant stance against fraud and theft, and this is how we can ensure it. Rest assured that your declined payment will be fully and automatically refunded.
If you wish to try again, please consider using Coinbase as your payment which skips this verification entirely.
Sincerely,
Richard
Answer: You don't want to buy from them.
Answer: Just don't use their service. Trust me, you will save a lot of your nerves and time if you don't.
Answer: How to get started. Click the URL bar and type anything other than your terrible website. Unless you want to be scammed to lose time and money, in which case go ahead and continue using playerauctions.com.
Answer: You got scammed! So did I. PlayerAuctions is nothing but a SCAM!
Answer: Maybe this will help: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playerauctions Regardless they have terrible Customer Service. Their english is not proficient to be doing business in the US and their work ethic is just terrible. It's a shame that they show the stereotypical greed of chinese who just does it for money and doesn't care what gets in the way and cuts too many corners to be acceptable to be called "The world’s safest player to player trading marketplace for WOW Gold, Runescape Gold, Guild Wars 2 Gold, ArcheAge Gold, CS: GO items and much more."
Answer: Don't do business with this company, they stole my money after my account was recovered merely a month later -- I'll be reporting them to the BBB after tonight.
Answer: Hello Mikael. Could you please try accessing the site again on a different browser? It might have just been a temporary website server issue, and this might be sorted out already. If you continue to have problems with this, please take a screenshot of where there seems to be an issue, then send it along with your username to support@playerauctions.com.
Answer: Absolutely. As a buyer, your payment is secure with us and will not be released to the seller until you click confirm on our website, once you have decided that the item/gold/account that you bought is good and complete. If you find any problems with the sale, you may dispute it and if the sale you received is not as described, you will be issued a refund. As a seller, your payment will be released once buyer is satisfied with the sale, and this guarantees that you will receive payment as opposed to transacting blindly on the internet with someone you don't know. In the case of disputes, if you've proven that you were able to deliver the sale successfully and as described, you will get the payment. Please note that we enact the User Assumption of Risk as stated in the front page of our website, in that we cannot guarantee that all trades will be free from risks. However, by carefully securing your order and being wary of scamming attempts, together with our team's efforts to secure an order, this can be thoroughly mitigated. I can elaborate more if you'd like, just post another question, Sabrina.
Answer: They will make sure you don't get refunded. Be sure of that. There sites a massive scammed just Google them...
Answer: Hello Elaby. Fabricating fake feedback is not "unintentional". The same goes with creating multiple accounts and faking the registration country/location. Disbursements are held for the security of the buyers if the seller is found to have committed several offenses.
Hi Danny,
I'm very sorry for the concern this has caused you. We require these documents because we aim to establish the identity of the buyer and his/her ownership of the payment account being used. Due to the anonymity the internet provides, we have to be strict in making sure payments are free from fraud and the usage of cards is authorized.
Thank you for patiently complying with this. The order is now fully processed.
Best regards,
Richard
