PlayerAuctions runs a marketplace for buying and selling characters, virtual goods and virtual currency from massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs).
PlayerAuctions has a rating of 4.4 stars from 3,092 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with PlayerAuctions most frequently mention good deal, fast delivery and top notch. PlayerAuctions ranks 1st among Virtual Goods sites.
Terrible service I give over my details to the apparent most trusted on the site only to have to separate payments taken out once it takes me to a page asking me to enter an amount again which did not make sense to me.
I have had no customer service and will not recommend this site to anyone until this is solved honestly. Way to complicated process to and for some reason two purchases were opened when I clearly was trying to buy one purchase
They will ask you for 100 pictures of yourself and your credit card and bank statement. Don't worry though, after sending it they will email you back 4 hours later saying they need more. Use G2G, it's more secure and 1000x faster. Playerauctions is a joke, I would give 0 stars if I could.
Hi there,
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience with this order. I checked and they needed more validation for the order. We need to go through this in order to establish the ownership of the payment account being used. In case you wish to try again, please look into Coinbase as that method skips this process entirely.
Best regards,
Richard
Rather the seller or those on the end of customer service, i've had to deal with both a couple times and I barely used the site.
Just awful, and they want pictures of you and your cards and all this sketchy stuff too. My last time using them was sending photos for a few hrs for verification only for them to send an email back to resend another one atleast 5 times, even with instructions followed. So, I had to wait to get my money back by cancelling when they could of just done their job. They didn't and they won't care about you if things go south.
Hello DW,
We're very sorry, we could process the order yet because the selfie we received is very blurry and does not comply with our requirements. We need them to be in high resolution and in clear view, both the face portrait and the ID details, to ensure we're receiving authentic validation documents that prove who you are. We coincide this with checking your payment account to ensure the authorized user is the one actually using the payment on our site, thus complying with our anti-fraud policies.
We actually care and this is why we put this security process first before our earnings. We hope you understand but we have a strict ethical obligation to prevent card theft and fraud.
Best regards,
Richard
Honestly I am not one to give companies bad reviews but this was truly a horrible experience. They asked for my banking details and photos of it, My debit card, My drivers License and even photos of myself. In addition to this after I paid for the game and sent in all this documentation I was suspended and was not able to use the cite and will not get what I ordered. Lastly I found out that I was never given a refund and was told to wait a week before I get my money back. The customer service was unsympathetic and did not treat me like a human being. Using the same copy and pasted super long and vague paragraph that was no help.
Hello Jack,
We explained this in your ticket already that unfortunately, we found out that you're not of legal age and as such, cannot make binding contracts with us when it comes to the site's terms and policies. Another reason is we ask for government-issued IDs where the names need to match the names on credit cards. We declined your payment and we urge you to contact your payment provider about the refund. Payment providers or banks usually hold on to the charge made, assuming that the order is still happening. This gets canceled after a while and you are automatically refunded, but contacting them early usually expedites the process.
Best regards,
Richard
Replies from support are far in between. I've been waiting for them to release my funds for days now after requesting them to cancel a withdrawal.
Hello Jose,
I was able to see the order hold and I've now released your funds. I am very sorry for the delay with this. I will be writing you on your ticket as well to inform you about this.
Best regards,
Richard
I was suspended for fraudulent behavior when after I told the seller my account was not maxed as described he took the account back from me and then I filed in a dispute with player auctions and they said he was the winner of the dispute, following that my account was suspended for "fraud" which ill be following up legally because I believe many users are in the same shoes.
Hi Simon,
You were suspended on the site because you were found making a lot of fraudulent claims about your refund. Your past refunds are unaffected but your latest one is on hold due to this.
Best regards,
Richard
I got suspended for sharing personal contact information which i didn't know it was forbidden. When I send them a ticket and wanted to get my account reinstated, their reply was "our decision is final and binding." I always completed my transactions via PlayerAuctions. I saw hundreds of people got their accounts back even if it's their second offense and upwards. Or the people using more than 1 accounts in PA. Most people got their accounts back without even paying a fine.
But when it comes to my situation, they didnt even offer me to pay a fine, and i was definitely not informed about this situation.
I mean this is my first offense and i did all my transactions via PA. I have almost $4000 in my PA balance. And have more than 15 active offers which PA has access to their passwords and all the other informations.
I was willing to pay a fine if thats whats gonna take but they suddenly said its their final decision in their first reply. I've been wanting help from them but they just sent auto messages.
I put lots of hard working and effort to my account. I always helped my customers and I had %100 positive feedback.
I want my account reinstated please help me in this situation. I won't violate any of the rules from now on i wasn't paying attention. Please help me
Hello Erkal,
Sharing personal contact information was only one of your offenses, I'm afraid. The real reason for your suspension is due to the compromised accounts you sold and we received numerous reports from your buyers. As such, the suspension is permanent and your account cannot be reinstated.
Best regards,
Richard
The website is a joke, no reason to explain my situation because it is not like there is anyone care to help.
Hello xixxox,
Your current membership was declined because you already have a suspended account with us, and it was suspended due to security reasons. There is also no order on your account; we did not collect any payment nor information.
Please note that membership on the site is not a right, it is a benefit given and PlayerAuctions has the prerogative with this.
I read your ticket and I saw there that you wanted your current number with us to be cleared. I have done that so you can use your number again, but I make no guarantees since newly signed-up accounts are always reviewed by our agents.
Best wishes and regards,
Richard
I hate writing reviews but felt like i needed to warn people. I paid for a account to find out they wanted all of my personal information. (this should be a headliner when buying something like "we need this info etc, BEFORE you remove the money.") By personal i mean a pic of your ID, a pic of you in that ID, a pic of your credit card, and last a pic of your bank statement. (I'm not buying a car, but a digital account for a game) this much information can be used to prove they are you... BUT they say to trust them, but in turn wont trust you by answering a simple question. This started throwing red flags when two people was reviewing my account. (how do i know that one person let alone two are gonna handle my information safely, and not for what they want? You provide no info on these people or if they are even vetted properly before they touch my info. For all i know they volunteer to do this. Not saying they all are bad, but it only takes one to ruin your life with that type of info.) i have pics of my account but after i took some pics i deleted my account so who knows if i will ever get a refund(i will if i have to get my bank involved). Just my opinion before you remove the money from an account finish your verification first, or your just doing the one thing you say your trying to avoid (fraud, because your still taking the money before you verify). I had all of the info but decided it was too much of a risk so i refused to send it. Don't just take my word for this i mean read other reviews with the same thing (seems they pop up a lot) Will update after i receive a refund.
Hi Lin,
First off, please don't worry, your refund will be processed automatically and in full.
Secondly, for the payment, we sincerely apologize if you did not like how our agents are asking you for it but we need those to authenticate your identity as the real owner of the payment account being used. As a company that receives and processes payments, we put this process as an ethical obligation to ensure any payment accounts being used on the site are correctly used by their legit owners and to avoid theft or fraud.
If you're not comfortable sending those to us, rest assured that we always process a full and automatic refund, but this takes 2-5 business days. Kindly note that we do not actually receive your money. The refunding process just reverses the hold placed on your money and is cleared back by your payment provider. We offer Coinbase as an alternative if you wish to pay without having to send us documents.
Best regards,
Richard
Lost a dispute, been with the company since 2017 with over 75 successful transaction.
Lost a dispute despite the fact I provided many evidence, and provided much detailed info of the account.
When I lost the dispute, the seller change the account information now I lost both the dispute and the account.
So, either I get this resolve or this will be the last time I will ever sell on PlayerAuctions. I cannot believe I lost both the account and the dispute.
(This is the same response to your other post; it's not automated, I just copy pasted it because it's the same subject/concern)
Hi James,
I am very sorry but after raising this up with the team, I found out we can no longer reverse the decision.
The buyer won the dispute because he was able to point out that the account offer was misleading. Two guns were mentioned as included, but in reality it has to still be acquired from the gunsmith, thereby technically making them not really part of the offer. To players new to the game, this is misleading.
I understand you have your own take on this, but we need offer descriptions to be wholly accurate because the majority of buyers do not have 100% knowledge about the games on offer — and this is fine. We do not require full game knowledge from the buyers, but we do not offer descriptions to be accurate.
Finally, the buyer was able to prove during the last part of the dispute that he/she no longer has access to the account. My advice is for you to recover the account back, secure back the details, then perhaps be able to resell it elsewhere.
I'm afraid the decision is final. Rest assured, your account is not affected and you may still continue to do trades.
Regards,
Richard
I bought a Yugioh Duel Links account in less than 2 hours from purchase to playing. Tried before the service playerup.com and it was an awful experience (null middleman contact, cancel order without notice, dont recognize id card from other countries than US, lost days waiting). Will use playerauctions again in the future.
Thank you so much for the kind comments about our services, Marcelo. We're absolutely grateful for this! Hope you have lots of fun with your Yu Gi Oh account. :)
Warning, Player Auctions advertises 20min delivery on their website. This is comes after you complete their incredibly questionable authentication process.
Once you have made payment, you recieve an email asking for pictures of your drivers licence, a selfie of you with your licence, your credit card and your bank statement. I just spent the last 2 hours back and forth with them after they kept requesting clearer pictures or "uncropped" screen caps.
Thankfully the process to cancel my order was easy enough. Hopefully the amount is not debited from my account.
Take your business elsewhere. Save the headache and possible personal information fraud.
Hello Brandon,
I'm sorry for the trouble you had with this order. We require documents in the manner expressed by our agents because this allows us to verify them that they aren't photo manipulated, which can happen with any identity validation done over the internet. You will get a full and automatic refund for this.
In case you wish to try again, you may use Coinbase as an alternative payment method that doesn't require this verification process.
Rest assured, no information fraud is involved at all; we treat all documents professionally and ethically. They are never shared elsewhere and they are automatically deleted from our ticket server after some time — no exceptions.
Best regards,
Richard
They stole me 80€, after a month of emails and giving them all proof they need from my bank, they were responding less and less and now I know that I will never see this money again... I buyed their "security" fees but they didn't helped me... support is made of bots that send the things again and again... avoid this if you don't want to get problems... (sorry for bad english)
I list my account for sale on playerauctions.
A buyer take my offer on 2021-03-31, and then raise a dispute on 2021-04-01.
They said something incorrect with the username or password.
I replied on the same day with video evidence that show all the supplied account information was correct.
After my reply, there's no reply back from buyer.
I contact the playerauctions customer service, they said it should take 3 days of waiting for other party to answer or the system will automatically mark the dispute as solved.
Then I've waited for 8 days, nothing happened. I email them again to ask, but even the customer service didn't reply anymore to my e-mail from this point.
Beware when using this website. They said they will fully support their user, but for the truth it is not.
Everyone knows that if you buy gold online, there is a huge possibility your account will get hacked or you will get scammed. Using PlayerAuctions as a third party middle-man takes away the risk. They take your money, hold it in limbo until your order is confirmed delivered by both parties. Then the funds are released to the seller (minus a small commission). If there is a dispute, you can raise it with PlayerAuctions and they will investigate and the burden of proof is on the seller to verify a disputed delivery. If they can not, or if the delivery was to the wrong person, they will refund your money to you and nothing lost except the time it took for them to investigate. This really is the closest thing you can get to an actual storefront for this type of service. I have been using them for many, many, many years now. For multiple games. Never once was I investigated by the game itself for anything. It's all legit with super low risk.
Thank you for the fantastic and kind review, Jeremy! We're delighted to read this and I'm glad to hear that you're having a grand time trading on the site. We hope you continue to enjoy your deals and we wish you all the best, Jeremy. :D Thanks again!
A site which offers several payment methods but which blocks them when the bank accepts then asks you for a scan of your identity card your bank card a selfie of you and your card a bank statement... And what else your card secret visa code? What will they do with your personal data next?
This is really an exhausting experience... I have been trying for over 4 hours every possible way to buy from this website but there is no possible way to do it...
I literally tried everything. Neteller/Skrill don't give access to purchase from other websites (only if u have a visa card).
Gpay/Apple pay payments always reverted so I cannot do s**t.
Paymentwall is not allowed in my country and last but not least coinbase. They do not support my merchant because I use a revolut card...
PlayerAuctions support team, I would LOVE to spend and experience your purchase but could you give me some normal way to do it ffs? (I am sorry that I am being rude right now, but you will get me after spending straight 4 hours to actually BUY FROM YOU).
Hi there, Kagami,
Just to double-check, the username is KagamiAzura, right? Not AzuraKagami as provided in the reference?
As for the issue, I am extremely sorry for this hassle and your message is alright, you are not being rude. I checked the payment details and I can see why your payments were declined. Due to strict anti-fraud compliances in keeping customer information accurate and relevant with the payment account, we need the information between the PlayerAuctions account and payment account to exactly match. This includes real name and address/country. If you are using VPN or proxy, please disable that too as it will come into conflict with the declared address.
Once you sort out the difference with that, I am positive this can go through. Please also note that you may still be asked for verification documents; this is not irregular and you are not flagged if this happens, this is just the normal way we get to know our customers so we can establish their identities on our site as valid/legit users of the payment account attached to their PA account.
Sorry again for the hassle and I hope this information helps.
Sincerely,
Richard
Update: 4/2/2021
It's been 6 days now and still no progress. Changed phone number twice now and still can't receive any PIN Code.
All of these phone numbers can receive PIN, verification codes, and OTPs from my personal banks, app payments, etc but NOT from PA? Come on!
As I've said, support responds only ONCE A DAY. So the stress level keeps getting higher.
Just like what others are experiencing, Player Auctions has this PIN Code issues.
Let's see how long will they hold my earnings.
This is not good for a 9 year seller and customer!
------------------------------------------------------------
Can't withdraw my earnings.
Support not resolving issues. They answer once a day.
Imagine how you will feel as a seller:
Sold a $599 account with no problems - very smooth transaction with the buyer. So PlayerAuctions took Secure Order Processing Fee. But when it's my turn to withdraw my funds, I can't because they no longer support Payoneer. I said ok, let me change the disbursement method.
So I tried changing the disbursement method, however, I can't because I can't receive any PIN code from them to my phone to change the disbursement method.
So, I requested to change my current phone number so I can try requesting a PIN code
Until now, there's NO response.
It's been 24 hours now. I still got NO response from support.
Is there a chance I can withdraw my earnings?
FOUR HOURS wasted. They took $350 and it said it would be done "in minutes" on their site. They wanted selfies, selfies with the card, selfies with the license, a screenshot of the bank transaction, and a screenshot of the order, pictures of the license and card back and front ALL of which I sent AS ATTACHMENTS. They kept saying "don't send in email send as attachment" so I sent it by phone, by other email providers, and by an email client instead of webmail. They just kept saying to send it as a file WHICH I DID dozens of times. I asked them a dozen times to clarify how they wanted the pictures and they kept sending the canned initial email back over and over. Four hours later I have given up and I would bet money on it they don't send a refund. Look at the responses in this thread, all they do is say "you didn't meet the requirements". Lies. I am 46 years old and this was THE WORST experience I've ever had as a customer. The seller and I had to go to g2g.com to get it done. AVOID PA AT ALL COSTS. I believe they are just collecting identity information to sell and I believe they have stolen my money.
Hello Jason,
I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding during the verification. Our agents wanted to receive your selfie as a full picture/image document; I noticed that you sent us a screenshot of the picture while it's inside your Google Photos page/account. We need these documents as full camera pictures (with the exception of the receipt, which should be instead a screenshot from your PC/browser). I sincerely apologize for this and I can understand where your disappointment is coming from.
I'd also like to make 2 assurances: (1) you will automatically and fully receive a refund in 2-5 business days, and (2) we are not collecting nor misusing your information; they are only used for verification and they are never used outside of PlayerAuctions. They are treated professionally and confidentially.
Sincerely,
Richard
Hope not this happening on the future. Thank you for solve solution. I'll keep trading with your websites if u guys keep communicating with me. Cheers
Thank you very much for the kind review update, Daniel. I really appreciate it. Rest assured that we'll do our best to complete your next requests in a more timely manner. :)
Answer: You don't want to buy from them.
Answer: Just don't use their service. Trust me, you will save a lot of your nerves and time if you don't.
Answer: How to get started. Click the URL bar and type anything other than your terrible website. Unless you want to be scammed to lose time and money, in which case go ahead and continue using playerauctions.com.
Answer: You got scammed! So did I. PlayerAuctions is nothing but a SCAM!
Answer: Maybe this will help: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playerauctions Regardless they have terrible Customer Service. Their english is not proficient to be doing business in the US and their work ethic is just terrible. It's a shame that they show the stereotypical greed of chinese who just does it for money and doesn't care what gets in the way and cuts too many corners to be acceptable to be called "The world’s safest player to player trading marketplace for WOW Gold, Runescape Gold, Guild Wars 2 Gold, ArcheAge Gold, CS: GO items and much more."
Answer: Don't do business with this company, they stole my money after my account was recovered merely a month later -- I'll be reporting them to the BBB after tonight.
Answer: Hello Mikael. Could you please try accessing the site again on a different browser? It might have just been a temporary website server issue, and this might be sorted out already. If you continue to have problems with this, please take a screenshot of where there seems to be an issue, then send it along with your username to support@playerauctions.com.
Answer: Absolutely. As a buyer, your payment is secure with us and will not be released to the seller until you click confirm on our website, once you have decided that the item/gold/account that you bought is good and complete. If you find any problems with the sale, you may dispute it and if the sale you received is not as described, you will be issued a refund. As a seller, your payment will be released once buyer is satisfied with the sale, and this guarantees that you will receive payment as opposed to transacting blindly on the internet with someone you don't know. In the case of disputes, if you've proven that you were able to deliver the sale successfully and as described, you will get the payment. Please note that we enact the User Assumption of Risk as stated in the front page of our website, in that we cannot guarantee that all trades will be free from risks. However, by carefully securing your order and being wary of scamming attempts, together with our team's efforts to secure an order, this can be thoroughly mitigated. I can elaborate more if you'd like, just post another question, Sabrina.
Answer: They will make sure you don't get refunded. Be sure of that. There sites a massive scammed just Google them...
Answer: Hello Elaby. Fabricating fake feedback is not "unintentional". The same goes with creating multiple accounts and faking the registration country/location. Disbursements are held for the security of the buyers if the seller is found to have committed several offenses.
Hello Jake,
Both orders you provided weren't purchased or paid for. The order was just placed and payment is a different step and process. We never received any funds for either.
Regards,
Richard
