I ordered a truck bed rack online from Parts Avatar. There was a picture of the rack and a full description of the rack. No possible way from the picture, title and product description that it was anything but a truck bed rack. I purchased it and it was shipped and received (5 days later than stated). They sent me an accessory bar instead of the truck bed rack. After multiple emails back and forth they stood firm that they sent what I ordered based on a product number, despite my order clearly indicating a universal fitting truck bed rack. They said I could return the item for a refund but I would have to pay the freight which was as much as the item itself. What a joke.
Parts Avatar is the worst business I've EVER dealt with. I ordered an exhaust manifold from them for my truck. When it arrived it was obviously NOT compatible with my truck. I returned it new and unused for a refund which I'm entitled to do under their satisfaction guarantee policy. Never heard from them. Tried calling them. No one answers. Tried emailing them. No one replies. Tried their online chat twice and each time had to wait in queue for more than 20 minutes. When I got to # 1 in queue and asked a question about the return and a refund I was both times disconnected at their end. Finally I tried something that I'd read online about what another customer did. I bombarded them with emails. I finally got their ridiculous generic response - 'we'll get back to you within 24 hours' No one did. I bombarded them again with emails and finally got a response. Their response was that they had received the return one day after the return cut-off date. That was a deliberate lie. I provided them with CanadaPost tracking data that showed it had been delivered 6 DAYS before they claimed it had. Then another generic response. I finally gave them an ultimatum to refund the full amount or I'd initiate a PayPal claim. Didn't get a response so I started the claim. After PayPal contacted them they indicated to PayPal that they would refund me the full amount but I'd first have to return the item! I provided PayPal with the CanadaPost proof of delivery and the copies of 2 emails from P. A. where they admitted the part had already been returned. PayPal did the right thing and ruled in my favour, provided a full refund and closed the case. The amount in question here is over $600. Parts Avatar is not a legitimate business. Don't be fooled by their somewhat slick website. Read the other reviews and do yourself a favour and don't give them any of your business. If you're looking for a legitimate auto parts dealer with good prices and cheap shipping to Canada go to RockAuto.
I have ordered parts in the past from many sources and I choose depending on availability and price. This is the worst experience ever. My issue is clear cut and should take a few minutes to refund.
I ordered oil filter, copper washers and spark plugs that were supposed to be in stock. Only 2 of 8 spark plugs were delivered. Packing lists confirmed only 2 shipped. One packing list was from the actual company supplying the spark plugs. So I called them, VAST AUTO in Quebec, and agent told me they were out of stock and none on back order so probably will not be restocked. So I bought the 6 spark plugs that I needed locally.
I found a phone number online and called but could only leave a message with no call back 4 days later. So I went with he online chat option. "Danny" said the full order shipped so he made me send pics of the packing lists showing the missing spark plugs. Then he said someone would contact me.
After no word for 4 days, I went back to the online chat and asked for my refund. Again I was told that it was going to be processed but no timeline given. I asked for a phone number to speak with a human in Canada immediately. He told me the phone wasn't working because of COVID. The same lie given to other customers who reviewed on this site.
I think this is a fly by night company with virtually no infrastructure. I suspect they are mostly an order filling site who just resells and that's why they can't tell other customers where their orders are. At any given moment. They obviously don't have an adequate customer service department. I'm convinced that the online chat is manned by an offshore boiler room call centre. I got an email from "Danny" at 4 am so I'm assuming India. The lack of telephone contact is very sketchy. I suspect most positive reviews are bots or paid for reviews.
I have escalated my refund request to PAYPAL. It should resolve but I wish I found the real reviews at SITEJABBER and saved myself all the time and headache.
For the love of god don't order from these people. Next to impossible to get a hold to horrible mail system you'll be waiting forever and your parts will come wrong and you'll never get to return them
They do not have a phone number on their site. I had to google their company to find a phone number. I asked the CHAT person NICK for a phone number - he would not furnish one and said they are having technical difficulties and it is not working. Seriously? I called the google number and got through only to leave a message.
Once an order is placed you cannot cancel it. I cancelled it by email in less than 24 hours from placing the order.

No support. Got some credit back after well over a months of difficult communications but NOW they took a restocking charge!. Bad packaging. Two Damaged items. Tried to work out a replacement but their phone lines are never working. Their online chat is a third party that cuts you off when they find out you are having support issues. Should have read reviews on Google Maps. They sent a PCV valve that looked like it came out of someone's engine or at least shows pliers marks. Door restraining device had torn gasket. Wiper blades were for the back window and too short when their web site hid that info on the bottom of the web page. Ordered OEM but got some knock off manufacture I have never heard of before.

Ordered parts on June 5th and received half order on June 15th. I ordered other parts from Rockauto and received everything on June 9th from New York to BC in four days over a weekend. It is now June 17th and the critical parts haven't been shipped yet. Phones don't work and emails get automated responses. Can't cancel order because they lie and say the order was shipped. When 'live chatting' you get the impression that the "Peter" that you're chatting with is in a shack in India and really knows nothing but what they're told to say. When all else fails blame everything on the Corona virus. They even blamed the phone's technical difficulties on the virus. I'm retired and desperately need my car. They don't give a $#*! about anyone. Worst company I've ever dealt with. The CEO belongs in prison. I hope they go bankrupt, but I'm sure they are crooked enough to take the government Corona virus handout.
So many things wrong with this site (mainly the costumer service, or lack there of). I will never order from them again and will never recommend them to a friend. I ordered break pads on April 20th. I was supposed to receive it April 23rd-30th. On May 4th I contacted customer service and I was told multiple contradicting things. One person gave me a tracking number that did not work, another person said it hadn't shipped yet (meanwhile on April 29 I got an email stating it shipped). Then when I asked about this, the customer service rep pretended to not be available. So unprofessional.
Then when the break pads finally arrived they sent the wrong ones. So I had to return them. But I didn't bother buying from this site again and good thing.
I returned break pads and sent them via mail on May 13th and it was 2 day shipping (which I paid $13). Therefore, it should have arrived May 15th. On their return policy it says that a refund will be given within 10 business day. Therefore, I should have received a refund on May 29th. That did not happen.
When in contact with another customer service rep they stated that the return was received on May 24th. Therefore, a late return should've been given on June 5th.
Then on June 11th, still no refund has been given. I contacted them again and they stated I would be contacted within 24 hours. It is now June 13th and still nothing.

Purchased rear calipers, they arrived fast, but returning is being a nightmare. On their site, it's specified 10 business days. I reached out after they had passed and was told that due to covid it would be 20 days. Yesterday 20 days passed as well. In chat, they kicked me to return department where I assume bots are answering. They requested me to wait and co-operate with them without any clear dates! After the question how long it's gonna take, their response was uselessly the same.
I should have done proper research before giving them my money. If you read this review, please avoid this shop like the plague. You'll be waiting for ages if something happens, customer service is impolite and absolutely useless.
I return my unused parts to them. They received the return in May 10. Now is Jun 11, I still not receive my refund. I chat with them, they just ask me to wait. Email to them, 1st reply is - Normally takes 20 business day to do the refund. After 20 business day, I sent another email for the same issue. They don't even return my email.

Parts shipped weeks apart, but ordered at the same time on the same invoice. Ordered on April 29, first parts arrived May 5, last part arrived May 19 (14 days after the other parts arrived) I had time to return window regulator from the same order. No clear answers as to why but they did blame Canada Post. I am sure they where out of the part waiting for it to send out but instead they blamed Canada Post, problem was Parts Avatar not being honest). Contact them after 2 weeks, "It will be shipped not sure when", would not let me cancel the unshipped part, so I had to wait another 2 week for it to arrive.
Sent a part back as it was not compatible with my window regulator motor, (but should have been) 15 days after they received it still not refund. (I tracked with Canada Post which I had to pay for.
Mailed on May 8 It arrived on May 19 at their return center, it's now June 4 no refund yet)

Order was split, parts coming from Ontario location sat in their warehouse for 4 days then sat in Purolator warehouse in Toronto for a additional 6 days. WEB site states that items are shipped within 48 hours. Requested a RMA to return item as could not leave clients car sitting that long waiting for a $3.00 part. Return refused stating that they had not made any errors. Can't charge client for these parts that PartsAvtar sat on so I have to bit the bullet on them. Won't be dealing with them in the future, either local suppliers or Rock Auto in the US.
Do not deal with these crooks.

I ordered brake rotors. Then nothing happened. I chased this up a few days later, they said all is fine the order is being processed. 5 days later still nothing, Chased them again and informed item had been posted. 7days later item was actually shipped. So I was flat out lied to on two occasions. They Can't be trusted. Parts are cheap, most are junk. Pay more and go somewhere local. I went to ford in the end, I'd rather pay more than be lied to. Also on a previous order the transmission gasket leaked on day one. Replaced gasket from Ford, no leak now. Had to buy the transmission fluid twice and do the job twice. Trying for refund. No luck yet.
When you first buy from them they deliver the next day .But that did not last long until they sold me parts and shipped them without any emails or conformations .When I did finally find a tracking number and when asking postal sevices they told me it was not a recognized number and they had no idea where my package was ? The took moneys form my card with out a email of conformation to shipping or any interruptions .As it stands now the parcel is late and they will not return our calls or emails or answer their phones ???????? BUt they state much goodness in their company when reading their written words on site ? Iam never again going to deal with any companies on line sorry have had it ???/ beware of this one /
