“Great host, absolutely horrible support”

I've been using OVH for years. I recently shut down two of my old VPS systems I had with them, and migrated them over to newer ones, as they were slowly beginning to transition away from my old VPS line, (understandably). As far as being a customer, I absolutely love them... except when it comes to issues. Although they don't happen often, if you have a problem with your system that OVH hosts, good luck getting support to respond in a timely manner, if at all. Their support is an absolute joke. It always has been, it still is, and it likely always will be. This company does an absolutely incredible job at everything else. If they would just invest some of their time and money into their support team, they would be hands down the best provider in the industry. Sadly I don't see this changing any time soon, as the powers at be up top clearly don't care, and haven't since its creation.

I paid 266 Euros to get VPS service on 15.02.2023, but they asked for a national ID or passport because the information was missing. They stated that since I did not agree to send, the refund would take between 9 and 14 days and this process was not in their hands. There are also inconsistencies in the messages they wrote on different dates. It's now been 23 days since the payment and they still haven't refunded.

This is a pathetic hosting service. Overcomplicated interface, barebone statistics, and ZERO SUPPORT! The support system was not very good before; now they have done away with it altogether. They force you through a series of questions but you never get to contact a real person. OVH has become worse than a free hosting service in terms of quality. The only reason why I haven't switched yet is because the process is such a pain. Avoid OVH. Get yourself a real hosting platform.

I have used OVH since 2014, everything was fine then, but now customer support is AWFUL. They just try to avoid the problem and the ticket is closed before you can answer it. If you want to talk about the issue again, you need to make another ticket. They don't answer anything about the problem plus it's really hard to contact them. I don't get reminders about invoices and my domain was closed several times because of this. Customer support says that emails have been sent, even though their own system says that they haven't sent any reminders. If I could there wouldn't be any stars for them. I need to change the service asap.

You cannot buy a server in Europe while living in the USA, OVH employees have never helped, they only send it to another department. Or the region, this suggests that the company only cares about payment and not the convenience of customers!

If you in USA, good luck to order dedicated server in Europe

Bad customer support, They are totally incompetent. Not sure how this company survive such a long time.
M advise is simple stay away from them. Look for other service.

Contemporary form of headache in IT field. If you buy a server from OVH-France, keep in your mind that you can't get support in English. They live in the hearth of Europe but they proudly say with French accent "we can'td speagh English, only Fgench". In this manner, Ovh France is a bit racist and conservative. Some teenage guys answer your phone calls and you might find yourself as an object of a joke. I rented a server 26days ago, last night went down. After I open support ticket, they changed the motherboard which was not the solution. I called Ovh 17 times today. During this period of time, I observed that OVH-Canada is better much more than France location. They talk with problem solving approach. What about Ovh France? French companies in general give the same poop with different colors: Some are in blue, some in red, some in white. But all the same poop. You will be glad to keep a safe distance from OVH France location! Finger-crossed and seems like they will kept me waiting until they have willing to solve the problem. I do not care!

Disgusting registrar, buggy admin panel, stupid idiots on support.
They do not answer you for weeks and months, then they close the tickets and you have to start over
Never ever buy domains from them! This is a hellhole, not a registrar

Stay away from these people, their support sucks, its slow, the phones are useless and automated only. They billed me for services i cant even see anymore on my account, a year later after they were cancelled, refuses to do refunds. Theyre scammers. 6 years client, good bye! Money is more important than the customers.

Opening OVH dashboard is really slow, sometimes doesn t open and need to reload the page. Email is not working, i tried different guide but still can t figure why is not working. The customer care in forst place said can t help on this matter. After i requested for refund then they wlling to help. Now they asked to configure MX, and give me a link to read. After configure still not working. I paid the service since 12-09-22. Today is 27 and the email is still not working. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

OVH has a reputation among computer programmers as the cheapest place to rent a VPS server, usually for website hosting. They do have high bandwidth machines for the lowest price. If you are not a programmer you can purchase product support too. So far so good.

However, their marketing website frequently mentions "easy to cancel." Another paragraph states "just stop paying your bill and we will reclaim your server."

I signed up. Their service didn't work out for me. It doesn't matter why. When I tried to cancel they said I owed them $480 USA dollars because I had signed a 2 year contract.

Perhaps I missed some fine print. These are internet snakes. Their actions soil and tarnish the proud history of the French speaking peoples. There are better choices.

Finally: never ever sign up for any recurring charge by filling out a form. Always (always always always) call a sales person on a phone and speak to them in person.

This company requires you to take a picture of your credit card, photo ID and also yourself holding your credit card before they accept you as a customer. If they decline you they will not tell you why and will instead simply close your ticket without explaining why. They also require you to upload these pictures to a sus website and "promise" to delete the pictures afterwards. Extremely suspicious company with absolutely no customer service. I had to reopen my ticket twice just go get a reply that said, "we will not tell you the reason why you were declined." Like I get it guys, decline me, but at least be direct about why.

2 problems in the same month. I had a website with an application for patient tracking that cost me $20,000. The email associated with my account was that of my programmer who no longer works for the company. During the renewal, I was never notified and when I realized the problem, it was too late, there was no way to recover my site, I lost everything. Another problem that I just had, I reserved a domain name a month ago. I received the confirmation of the domain name as expected. I went to install WordPress on the website, received confirmation that everything was done, tested it, and it didn't work. I opened a ticket, which they closed telling me that everything was correct. I opened more tickets, and the same scenario played out every time, they told me that everything was correct. They told me to call CIRA to confirm my domain name, and that they would resolve everything quickly. I called CIRA and after talking with the support, the guys told me that the domain is not reserved... I call OVH to tell the new and two minutes later, they cancelled my invoice without even telling me. I called OVH for more details, and they told me that there was a registration problem and they decided to cancel it, the easiest thing for them to do.

Absolutely unsatisfied at what I thought was a reputable business and service, only to discover that they try using extortion and blackmail type tactics to extract money out of loyal customers who wish to downgrade, then to top it off suspend services which are needed for ongoing business even after having made payment but due to their errors and inaction, one would have thought they would be more swift to expedite such issues where they are liable to prevent litigation, but seems their customer services, support ticket service and to top it off their claims department is in on the extortion and really don't care! I shall post ongoing updates on this matter.

Tip for consumers:
The minute an error with their billing / dashboard exists take to social media and all support services until they resolve, do not give up until the matter is resolved based on facts. Any losses you incur due to liability of OVH should be claimed by litigation.

I open a ticket in OVH no response for 24hours, am looking now for refund same no response am idiot to use ovh without checking in (trust pilot) 2.2 points they let me think before i do this mistake, they give me a fake space 20gb gone fast without doing anything we just start 20gb of SSD go fast i delete some files but the space still changed every seconde i check my space with cmd DF every seconde add space ask him why this happen no response. The french company use Fraud. They response just in trust pilot. Be carefully before using any service from french company they all use fraud if you wan't to use french company check if they have paypal as payment method.

Very bad support.
The only way to communicate is through tickets.
Even with a premium level of support, tickets are not answered.
Servers down for 15 hours and OVH does not inform about problems in any way

I'd purchased a vps plan on 18th sept, tried to setup 3 times but always returned with some error. The first time issue with root access, 2nd time issue with outdated command and third time with securing vps,

I give up after 3rd attempt and wanted to cancel the vps, but their cancel form always returned with error.

Then i'd opened support ticket to cancel the order, they replied after 3 days "Please note that we offer the refund only if there are any hardware faults"

I explained then next day they replied "Our billing team has reviewed your refund request and we regret to inform you that you are not eligible for a refund."

Their stupid server not workings and now they don't refund for it too.

I lost my money but you better be careful.

Tip for consumers:
there is nothing helpful on ovh, try other like namecheap vps.

The VERY slow support and billing service, but it's not the main.

The main is: we received the message that our bare metal host will be switched off in 15 minutes. Of course, we didn't have enough time to do anything and host was powered off.

After this incident we had a week+ conversation with support. No sorry, no compensation. Their position that "it was the scheduled maintenance" because they had written about it somewhere in their status page that we even hand't known about. If you want to know about their PLANNED maintenances you shoud check their updates by yourself.

Btw a half a year ago I tried to learn their prices to set up a few dozens new bare metal hosts. I wrote 3 times to their Sales using different ways but no one answered me. I tried to reach their Sales via their support because we had an account but received an answer "we can't help you, bye". Wow.

I've got some proofs about both cases.

After the fire they just concentrated to their infrastructures. They leaved alone their customers without service and without data. An auxialary server for the customers it would have been a solution for a rapid interaction to the users keep somehow they work (eg. Load back from a local backup). But they did not communcated directly with the customers (ovh did not replied to the tickets and did not picked up the phones. And ovh did not given any help to the users) whos therefore lost lots of work, money and business (a complete life). They caused for the customers a very big damage! It seems for ovh the customer is not important, just the customer's money.

BEWARE CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!! This is an amazing host, but if you have ANY issues, even within their scope of support, you will very likely have issues getting them resolved!!!

I tried their 50GB Additional disks, and it cannot be cancelled. They charged me $8 for the 2nd month, I create a ticket to cancel it and asked for a refund, after 5 days now, they still not responding!

Theres no doubt their equipment is top notch. Any hardware issue, their tech's respond immediately. You will receive absolutely no tech support so do not expect it, General support you WILL expect is also non existent, at least via their useless ticket system which takes 10-15 days to get a response from. However, give them a call and support is immediate.

I went from recommending everyone I know to this hosting company. To now am just waiting to migrate out of here ASAP.

Just this month was trying to get a VPS. As i know before thier server was promot.

Now am waiting for days. Then asked for documents. And ticket respons time is trash. Why my money got deducted instantly.

WHER IS THE SERVICE I PAID FOR. OTHERWISE, REFUND AND REPLY TO TICKETS

Everything seems to have gone to garbage with OVH. It's like what happened with their servers a couple of years ago: a dumpster fire. The interface is HORRIBLE, some times it doesn't even load and you're stuck endlessly waiting for it to just display. I'll have time to write my review before this garbage loads.

The UI is horrible and I can't understand why they don't do anything about that. They have millions and improving the UX would make a big difference in getting and keeping customers.

The second thing that is appaling is their customer and technical support. If you want to TALK to someone, just to take an answer about an error that may be caused by their garbage service, you have to pay a hefty annual fee! It's so gross.

The only reason I keep domain names to OVH is because they wouldn't transfer it quickly and I'd have websites down for a week or two. But even as a registrar their service sucks because their interface is so bad.

It pains me to say that as it's a French service and I'd like to support it. But if you're a new customer, stay away from that host. It's really, really bad.
