Scammers, DO NOT BUY from them

Cancelled our flights 3 days before departure, promised quick resolution within 72hrs to process refund, however 17 days later and multiple emails/chats our refund of $3k+ is still not processed as they blame airline for not responding to them. We bought a service from ovago, they did not provide it and they are delaying our refund so we had to file a claim through our credit card company to get our money back. It is still pending, they sure take your money very quickly, but they struggle to issue a refund. We will never buy from Ovago again and strongly discourage anyone to use them. Go directly to airlines and you are likely going to get a better deal, cutting useless middleman out.
We have reported them to BBB and Federal trade commission to have them investigated and if that refund doesn't come soon we will likely sue the company, because they deserve it for what they seem to be doing to many people. SCAM, BEWARE!

Fraud
August 3, 2022

Booked my trip to Europe and went to the airport to find out that my flight has been changed, Ovago never informed me. Rejected checking in to the new flight and ended buying new tickets. Ovago said that they will reissue tickets but they need a "special" authorization from the airline. It's been almost 2 months now and I'm still waiting for that "authorization". I doubt that there is any authorization, they are just refusing to issue refund or rebook. Don't ever buy tickets from them, this is fraud. I have filled a complaint with USDOT and I'm hoping that they will do something about this. Per US law travel agent just inform you about any change to your trip, they failed. Since they failed they must refund the full amount, they didn't so they are fraud.
Next step will be suing them in the courts. From something beautiful that trip should be I'm here living my nightmare because they will not refund my $2000+.

I booked the ticket through google flights. There was an option to buy ticket from Ovago with discount. I bought the tickets from Ovago but they are not confirming the tickets. It is a scam don't buy ticket from this website.

I booked tickets for a trip to see my parents for $254. When I was asked to enter my billing address, the website changed the passenger name to my mother. Typical technology error. However, I contacted customer service and was told that there would be no additional cost in order to adjust the name change. They emailed me and told me that the name change can be made, but that the cost of the ticket is now $288. Southwest airlines website has a lower cost, skiplagged (where I originally booked the tickets through) had a lower price, and when I went on Ovago website, there was a lower price. I asked if I could cancel the tickets and I was told that I would be charged an additional charge of $50. I have no other option from Ovago to correct this mistake other than to pay more for my ticket. I suggest anyone to go though any other booking site. Horrible customer service. I wasn't offered anything other than a ticket $34 more or a $50 cancelation fee.

My flights were canceled, no other flights were arranged, and they only gave me a partial refund. They refused to refund their commission/service fees. So they charged me money to not take a trip when the airline that canceled my flight. Book with literally anyone but ovago. Terrible company.

BE WARNED...

Terrible customer service - complete lack of response...
All well and good on booking the flight, but changes had to be made and customer service was abominable. Three people promised to call back with details of possible flight that could be taken... no one called back. I even informed the COO, V Mxxxxx who said he would follow up and nothing happened. NEVER use this company unless you feel you are getting a great deal and you are sure you will not make a ticket change... go direct to the airline, my experience for changes has been 1000x better.

Once an exchange has been processed and a fee has been paid that becomes by default non refundable. I'll check on the ongoing investigation and will have someone get back to you on this with definitive answer."

NO FOLLOW UP, and this was a flight change needed as a result of COVID issues. My wife booked the same flight direct and got a change with no fuss and no charges.

Scammers
December 9, 2023

Be careful, when buying flight tickets through Ovago, they will steal money from you even though you purchase travel protection for your flight, and submit the required documentation, they will do everything possible not to refund your money. They are scammers. I have a case opened with them, I canceled a flight a week before the date(enough time) and submitted the only info I have to justify my refund and they won't refund my money. The last thing I will do is open legal actions with them if I do not receive any response from my last feedback.

Ovago trying to not refund tickets purchased thru them, when they have to-- flights are canceled by airline and they are required to do so. Now a month in (DOT says 7 days turnaround) from discovery of cancellation, countless hours on hold (i dream of ovago music), and many unreturned emails. They want to make it very hard for you to get refund, so that you'll give up. The 5 stars here are all bogus, done by ovago/gurufare/wayfare-- read them for fun! This is short version of the hassles-- Beware!

Awful company

Recently I lost my ticket due to this company. I was able to find a very good deal and the agent i talked to told me that he will HOLD the price for me for 24 hours. In few hours I told him the price is going up. He told me not to worry that he promise to HOLD the price for me. HOWEVER I paid that evening and the next morning the agent told me that they couldn't issue my ticket cuz the prize went up double.
I was able to go on a direct flight for 13 hours and they gave me an alternative that is 30 hours. When I noticed the price was going up, even when I bought it that time, I could of bought direct. Even though they promised, no responsibility what so ever. Now, I don't have a ticket thanks to this company. I even had the booking confirmation. I still have all the conversation screen shot. Very disappointed with this company.

Do not book with them

I found a great fare and the times I wanted. Once I entered my credentials and payment, the fare jumped 2k! MOre than anyother site. SO I declined. They put a hold on my credit card whihc is now unusable. I called customer service and they cancelled my request, said nothing was charged but I still have a hold. I do NOT trust these guys

In a nutshell, I booked a ticket months ago. Got an email notification that said my flight changed. Saw the option and they gave me a flight with a 17 and a half layover versus my 1 and a half hour layover. I saw the button to request a different flight. Weeks passed. I emailed, called and used the chat option only to be told that someone would email soon. Nope. So finally, yesterday someone got back to me and said all they have is the original flight offered and nothing else. I accepted but asked if I could be comped a hotel as the layover was so long. No email again. So today I chat with someone and they send me to the help link….she told me that flight changes normally happen. So this was my first and last time using them. Any other company I have went through never changed my flight…and this is over 20 years. This company is a scam and needs to either fix its self or go away. DONT USE THIS SITE, YOU WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!

I searched using Google Flights and they linked me to Ovago for my selection. I booked and immediately received an email telling me my reservation was processing. After 15 min and no confirmation I went directly to the selected airline's website and saw my flights were still available, but I didn't book them as I assumed Ovago was booking them for me. No one wants to end up with double tickets! Well after messaging with 3 reps (no one is available by phone), and being told they are working to book my flights, I found out they did not get my flights and I no longer can book them myself because they are now sold out. This delay cost me an extra $130 when I had to book on the competing airline

Totally disappointed

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE OVAGO!

THe staff only pretend to be nice until they trap you with your money. I've lost the airline credits max they have failed to reschedule my flight. That being said, generally They're scammers and will stop at nothing to frustrate you. First it's very difficult to reach them and when you do, the customer service is extremely rude, I recall one of them called Manuel. Extremely rude to work as a customer service attendant.

I wish I could give them 0 stars, they don't deserve this 1 star.

HORRIBLE TRAVEL AGENCY!

My wife had her passport, green card, ID, everything stolen in Italy.
Ovago said they could reschedule return flight for a later date.
Departure date passed and Ovago said sorry but we cannot reschedule your flight. Maybe refund the taxes but not sure.
Bottom line: Ovago screwed us out of thousands of dollars because they did NOTHING to help us.
Now we have to pay several thousand dollars more just to return to the US because they did NOTHING to help us, even though we paid for travel insurance before our trip.
NEVER book through Ovago because they will let you hang out to dry!

Do not use OVAGO!
February 19, 2023

I had a multiple stop international travel and OVAGO seemed to be able to do this. When I didn't get a notice to check in, I called United the day before departure, the first flight of 3, and they told me I wasn't even booked! So I had to quick buy a one way ticket to Houston! In summary, don't trust that the Ovago bookings actually exist, you will NOT be able to check in the day before, seats won't be assigned, food preferences won't be acknowledged, missed my frequent flier miles and have little confidence that my trip will go as planned. This is not a case of you get what you paid for, it is you will pay low dollar, and won't get what you pay for. I am not pushing for a refund and will update on that status later. USE OVAGO only to see what is possible, do NOT use to book. My disappointment is profound.

I wish I had the option to hand them zero stars.
I was presented with the option of CFAR(Cancelation for any reason) which the agent categorically explained to me that I could: 1. Rebook for free 2. Cancel for free.
When I was about to rebook, they made me pay $300. Now, my "agent " promised helping me get a refund but after a couple of days, he sent me their FAQs link which was like a piece of trash to me. What for? I don't know.
Now, I'm asking for a cancelation and they're not giving me even half the ticket price. I'm getting a 100 percent refund. Thieves!

You will fill in your information and put your payment info, and you will see a text telling you that something went wrong, and someone will call you to help you. Within 5 mins, your phone will ring from a US number, and you will hear a guy talking with a thick accent and tell you, "Sir, the price you saw is not available anymore. You have to pay $500 extra. And you will tell him now. Thank you. You will go somewhere else and buy the ticket. The next day from 7 am, the guy with a thick accent will text you and tell you he charged you the same old price. You will tell him no; why did you do that? I told you no. He will tell you, OK, I will issue a refund. And GOOD LUCK with that. You will think you are smart and call your bank, and your bank will tell you we will investigate this. And will refuse to credit you because this is something you did with another company which means civile. So short, long story, DONT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.

We booked a flight on 3/19/24 & during an itinerary change facilitated by OVAGO, our names were incorrectly recorded. Our first names have been placed in the position of our last names by OVAGO.
Despite efforts to resolve through multiple channels of communication including written correspondence & verbal discussion facilitated by OVAGO the problem persists. With 48 hours before the flight OVAGO stated no further actions could be done, they were closing the case and they advised us to arrive to the airport early to make the name correction.

We arrived 4 hours earlier to the airport & OVAGO did not make the name change & we missed our flight to Barcelona for my kids soccer tournament. What a scam! They didn't fix the mistake that they made which resulted to us missing our flight! I'm currently disputing & filing a claim against OVAGO. OVAGO IS A SCAM!
