They didn't inform me of an almost $$300 handling and tax charge until my credit card has already been processed. AND how convenient in my purchase email they don't show the $300 charge but instead cost my my contacts were much higher.

They auto charged my paypal $45 for contacts I did not order. Customer service is horrible to deal with and still dont have my money back yet. Had to open a case with Paypal which is pretty sad.
I was shopping for contact lens on google and found opticontacts.com. The prices were great so I placed an order. Upon checking out, I noticed there was an extra charge of $99.40 for handling!
I called customer service. They told me the fees that are tacked on when you use the google link to buy contacts at the special price.
I feel this is very dishonest and false advertising.
I ordered one box of contacts at the promotional price, something I have done previously. The order was accepted and confirmed. Days later, they called and said that they cannot honor that order price as I had previously ordered from them (which it doesn't say anywhere on their website or promotion). They were willing to send it to me if I paid them double the price for "processing." This is totally deceptive and false advertising and bait and switch. They refused to honor the pricing they advertised AND was already accepted in the order. Total scam. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Opticontacts has a particular customer service rep Stanley whom I nominate to be given a raise for his kindness and prompt effective help. The guy has the kind of suave and tact to be selling Rolex watches and making big bank. You will be delighted to have interacted with my guy.
Watch out for the 'shipping & insurance' fee added just before you pay! On my $183.92 order total in the cart, $165.53 was added in the shipping and billing section for a new total of $349.45!
The live chat said it's a processing fee. Mailing 8 boxes of contacts requires $165.53 to process?!
I did not place the order. Reviewed a prior receipt and it was the same scam which I missed last time.
I don' t know why I tried to use this site again. Last time they overcharged me, didn't meet the shipping promises they quoted and failed to offer the discount promised. I was charged almost $40 more than the cart said at checkout, but didn't catch that the total had changed during checkout so I was stuck with the difference.
This time I go to order 4 boxes of contacts at their price of $24.95 per box. My cart total after the discount is $99.80. Looks great. Go to put in shipping address. The shipping for expedited is $12.99. Fine. But my total is now almost $200! Why? They charged me $79.99 in "taxes and fees," with no explanation of what those fees are for. It's not clear at all on the website. A $10 processing fee is fine. Almost $80 is not.
I will be leaving the same review on yelp with photos of the bogus charges.
I DID NOT complete the purchase because this time I noticed the change in total before finishing checkout.
UPDATE: OptiContacts issued a $120 refund. They explained that if you "mouse over" the rebate offer on their site, it explains that the rebate is actually a credit. I am satisfied and impressed with the professionalism of Sylvia, the CSR supervisor who called me.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Do not use this company! THEY RUN A REBATE SCAM. On Oct. 19,2021, I purchased $325.51 in Acuvue Oaysys contacts based on the OptiContacts.com $120 rebate offer clearly posted on their website. I emailed opticontacts a week later to ask when I would receive the rebate, and was told 90 days from purchase. Yesterday (1/4/2022), I called opticontacts.com and was told I would receive an email by 1/14/2022 about a CREDIT with opticontacts.com, not a REBATE! News flash. A REBATE IS NOT THE SAME THING AS A CREDIT. A rebate is a partial refund (think visa debit card or cashier's check) for the purchase of an item, typically from the manufacturer (think Acuvue). It's an incentive to buy. Why would i want a credit with a business that runs rebate scams?!?! I explained the difference to the CSR I spoke to, who said that offer had been "pulled from their site" and promised to speak to billing and then call me back before 5 p.m. Spoiler alert. No phone call. I will NEVER use this vendor again. I hope my review discourages hundreds of customers. My next stop is the BBB.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! Still waiting to hear from an order I placed Dec 16 and supposedly shipped Dec 20 but still do not have! Nobody has returned my phone call as to where or what will be done!
You'll waste your time until the last moment when they unleash their Handling Fee upon you. Then you will leave and buy from EZContacts.com.
I ordered a 90 day supply of contacts and used a coupon which made the price seem really good (40.48/box). $9.95 for shipping - not great, but, fair enough at 40 bucks per box. My contacts arrived. On top of the charge for two boxes and the shipping, I was charged $48.58 for "handling". This handling fee was not included in my purchase when I ordered. There is NO WAY I would have agreed to $48.58 for "handling" on top of a $90 order. This is a huge scam. I am waiting for their customer service to open to get an RMA number and return instructions, but I have a sneaking suspicion the "handling fee" will not be refundable. (I hope I am wrong). Avoid this website. They are SCAMMERS.
Update later same day: Contacted customer service and obtained a return label. After I specifically asked if the handling fee would also be refunded, was told the entire amount would be refunded. I asked for this in writing and got an email from the individual customer service representative. I really don't know if this will mean anything, but, I returned the contacts. Now I wait to see if I am refunded. (Word to the wise - it would be far easier to shop somewhere that is upfront about price.)
I was offered 20% off for new customer promo but was unable to input the code. If we're unable to use this with some discounted contacts then say that on your site - otherwise confidence in the site drops for me. Seems like other people here ran into similar checkout offenses.
Otherwise, my contacts are apparently on the way already so we'll see what's up with that, or i'm calling my credit card company and getting my $$ back.
My contacts were $40 and there were $50 worth of BS fees to get my contacts. Even worse, when I needed to return the contacts the fees are non refundable just the $40 for the contacts. Just BS all around. Definitely go anywhere else to buy your contacts. They advertise lower cost but it is actually the highest price I found without the option to refund.
I have ordered from OptiContacts before - they had a fair price, quick service. I went to reorder my contacts and the processing fee more than doubled. They stated that they price match so while I was chatting, I sent several screen shots of other sites where the processing fees were reasonable and the total price was less than theirs. Also you have to pay for shipping.
I payed for 2 days shipping and without surprise, a week later it is still not here, and instead of helping me customer service wanted to argue about how it is my fault. Which is absurd because i can't come to the warehouse and control it only they can. After literal days of going back and forth the only thing they offered me was to refund my 2 day shipping. This company is extremely unprofessional and does not care about their customers, especially first time buyers. I will never be going through this mess up of a company again

Company does not provide you with accurate processing times, states it will take 1-3 business days and if it exceeds 3 business days then they will email you an expected ship date. Did not receive a notification that the order was delayed and did not receive an expected ship date. Currently trying to contact customer service to see when they will ship the contact lenses and NO RESPONSE from their end. HORRIBLE COMPANY! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Placed an order on May 5th and because we were leaving town we paid 12.95 extra for the two day FEDEX shipping. Called today on May 11, and the order still has not shipped. Horrible customer service!
Was quoted a Thursday arrival and when I checked back today the arrival time changed to Monday. Very slow delivery speeds will not order from again in the future! Poor Customer service, Poor quality
On Friday I was ready to place an order after verifying they don't have the hidden "processing" fee. On Thursday it was stated on a phone call "the price you see is what you will pay."
After filling their form several times because prices and details rapidly changed completing the order form, I called. The same representative that I spoke with on the previous day answered. Things did not go well and I requested my information deleted. Now I have no intention of ever becoming a new customer. It's Sunday now and I received an automated email from them.
The per box price listed as an Online Promo is just under $23 and it stated somewhere always free shipping when it's over $99. At the price listed I was purchasing 6 boxes, more than I planned to buy. As I was about to check out this dishonest company tacked on surprise charges and the amount was just under $300! That's when I called and got a super run AVOID this company.
