The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

I sold an item 3 weeks ago and still have not been paid. They supposedly transferred the payment 10 days ago to my bank. There's not even a number to call for support. Never again! The buyer received the item and is happy with it. There were no issues with the transaction other than I have not been paid. On a $90 item I'm VERY upset!
Since I just join this 2014 everything is fine unit now this year. They are did delete me all my list over 40 item. I don't understand whyyy... i just Delete account after i just make new account again after i post item don't showing my list. I am not happy with this. Please fix this damn Company dude. I
They remove all things guns but will take your money to post it on feature sale, but there letting people sell fake driver's licenses and inspection stickers on here. The only thing they don't sell on here yet is birth certificates and I'm pretty sure they're on her somewhere. Sell on MEWE or let go at least there they allow you to post things that are actually legal to sell.
They have a buyer protection program... um okay. Ruth of offerup who doesnt even disclose her last name because they know that they are running scams denied my claim when I received a unit that was different than described. Seller stated on the listing that the unit was missing 2 knobs. When I received the unit it was missing 2 knobs but a 3rd knob was bent and damaged as well as the LCD Screen (the main function) was damaged and unreadable. I contacted offer up with pictures and a full description and they just got back to me stating that the seller stated that 2 knobs were missing so we are denying your claim. What about the 3rd knob being bent and damaged and the LCD damaged and non functional? Ruth you are a blind bat, it shouldn't be hard to do your job unless you are blind. I will be filling a dispute regardless.
Had a feeling I'd get screwed, sure thing. Now the week long wait to get refunded. Never again will I purchase off offer up, going back to eBay
Craigs list is easier & better. I have found 2 types of sellers on offer up Ones that can't be bothered to remove or update the listings they have leaving you days with no response and second the buyer so DESPERATE to make a few bucks they bug the living daylights out of you till you become frustrated and move on. Offer up should have some kind of a clean out process where if it has not sold it's removed after 120 days both from the site and all boards it was saved to forcing the seller to re add the item. I currently have items on my board I cannot remove & the items have been deleted. This is NUTS I will be moving on to another service.
One bad employee ruins the image for the whole company. They do not maintain the same guidelines for posting by different users. They are biased and exhibit unfair treatment towards certain users. I have used the app for years (active in both selling and buying). I see adds go up all day, every day offering "intangible items" like quotes for services such as appliance repair, window installation and for moving services, just to name a few. I see garage sale adds go up consistently. I make a loop in my city pretty regularly based on OfferUp garage sale adds and have done so for years. I finally move from an apartment into a house, and can host my own garage sale. I posted an add that was immediately removed. I tried again. Removed again. I was told I cannot post "intangible items". Yet I go to scroll again and find dozens more adds offering services/intangibles - some posted as recent as today, some dating back as far as 2015 (before I stopped scrolling). I just did searches for "garage sale" and "quotes" and "repairs" and the number of posts is pretty darn high for them to be so concerned with mine - so either someone lying, someone is not doing their job, someone is doing a really crappy job or someone is acting biased and discriminatory towards certain users. Whatever the case, this incident lost the company my business and all the previous compliments and stars I left when I first started using the app.
They remove all my items with out a notice, I try to call them, I email them and no response, I just want to know why it took my a long time to post all my items. I'm done with offer up.
I'd recently sold my laptop to a buyer on the East Coast I used the shipping label they provided me but it didn't scan I have problems at the post office with it therefore I paid out of my own pocket which I didn't ask for back to ship it to the buyer because I promised I would ship it today and I keep my promises so after doing that I informed OfferUp what I did I didn't have the tracking number but I did confirm that the buyer did receive it and told OfferUp to please verify with him that he's received it and is happy with the purchase I did that immediately after he received it OfferUp made no effort to pay me the money owed to me. Yes I should have just waited to get a different label from them however I promised you I would send it and everything's been confirmed they still will not just bring me my money they said they would but I have not received it and it's been over 2 weeks now I've emailed and I try to be civil about it but now I just want them to know what a piece of $#*! their customer service is they just tell me continuously after emails at the forward it to their whatever Department fill in the blank yourself and then nothing happens I've emailed them three times in the past 2 days still no response itsn been over 2 weeks I'm wondering if I should take legal action but anyways I just want everyone to know shipping with them is a pain in the $#*!, getting your money takes forever if you do get it and they just lost my business which I was a frequent seller and buyer with a 5 star RATING. This is the rating I give them
If you want stolen merchandise letgo is the way to go. The app blows and so do the makers. Pay close attention to the sellers and their half asked attempt to sell used stolen tools for what you would pay for new tools...
Here is what I sent to the company... did I get a response... NO. I am done with them.
I have a major problem with OfferUp. It is most
Frustrating that a person can make several offers. Send msgs to the seller and
No response. To may way of thinkkng if they want to be part of offer up
There should be some sort of rule as to how long they can continue without be
Responsiable. I have only had only two purchases and yet I've made
So many offers but all that happens is no response. Also, why are people
Allowed to indicate a price so low. Then when you offer above that amount
They still don't respond. I have even sent a msg asking what was their
Asking price. One of these individuals have gotten at minimum of 6 offers
And msgs from me and not the courtesy of a response.
Have made at least 20 purchases using e-bay. It is
So much more responsive in all aspects.
Just thought you should know. Also, this is at least
The 3rd time you have told me to changes my password because
Of some sort of unusual posts! What is that all aboutdoes
Not say much for security. Also, trying to make changes too my account
The instructions are not correct! You keep referring to the app... I don't use the app. I use the Internet!
As a webmaster I can tell you that the site has a lot of problemsfor instance
If I put in for instance Seattle I still get items from all over the
Country. Why is that.?
I am so sick and tired of offer up and their limited to horrible bidders. Obviously they are making money but how? 99% of their bidders are con artist, scammers and tire kickers. Want me to prove it? Place five items worth something a a low ball price and see what happens. I have honestly wasted so much time with this absolutely $#*!ty app. Maybe, maybe 1 out of 20 things sell. Dont waste your time with this horribly run app. I deleted from my phone so they cant steal my MBs anymore. They dont care about the customer in any manner. Offerup is a scam app. At least with Ebay, the only honest running selling app, they offer protection and force both buyers and sellers to abide by rules. Free sites? Both really free are they. They take your MBs from you. Look at the app settings under storage and memory used. Do you think that they dont make money? They do, from the seller. Mbs or KBs are what you spend money on each month to your phone company. Offerup steals this money from you and you dont know it. They offer no protection from any scam artist and on top of that, they are the scammers. Taking your hard earned money without care. Nope, it's not free to sell on offerup. Who pays them? You.
Not sure why the bad reviews, this is like parking you car on the side of the road with a FOR SALE sign on the window, you get good people with good offers and then you will get people with bad offers, and definitely you will get people who are nothing but IDIOTS with stupid offers, well I just learn to ignore them and keep on selling/buying, there are some scammers either trying to get your item or sell you theirs,, I always meet in public and only do cash transactions, nothing over 100-200 cause you never know, Aaaah and don't forget them crackheads that like to buy stuff in the middle of the of the morning like 1, 2, 3, 4 of the morning who got nothing to do and really don't have any money to buy, they just want to know if your item is still for sale... but other than that, I have never got any emails from any one else, like some claim, haven't need to contact c. S for anything, what the hell do I need them for? This is like a flea market, your an adult and you make your own deals, if you get burn,,, that's your own fault.,, this is buyer and seller beware and at your own risk kind of deal...
It would be nice if you could actually sell anything, everyone on this sight is a serious low baller & it's quite annoying
I spend thousands of dollars on this app. When I have a problem their customer service is piss poor. You get run-of-the-mill boxed answers. Literally THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. STAY AWAY.
Site is garbage. People love to simply waste time. Attracts broke A$# crackhead people. Badly managed. Have the nerve to ask for promotion money.
I've had pretty good luck buying and selling kids items and golf stuff.
Dunno why there are a bunch of negative reviews here but it looks like all the negative reviews are from people who left only one review. Kind of weird

This app is full of rude, disrespectful, crude, negligent, paranoid sellers. The effort you have to expend to try to transact business is not worth it. Generally the prices are set high and the sellers won't negotiate. But the biggest problem is OfferUp management encourages sellers to be skeptical, doubting and suspicious. God forbid a seller complains about a buyer, the lecture commenses, no matter how frivolous the complaint. Stick with Craigslist. The people there are much easier to work with. This app gets.
This is a very badly managed site. I have items for sale and have received emails
From buyers but offer up claims I have no items for sale or emails. Also getting foridden error message. Tells me it's a scam. Just no good. Check out letgo. Seems a little more reliable.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
