I've bought and sold a few things on here. But honestly, most of the time, my stuff just sits on the shelf. Even after creating a good description, great pictures, and continuously lowering the price. I get hardly any traffic, but that's not my main problem here. My main problem is that I got scammed. Some guy named Tanner sold me an xbox. He said it worked like new. When I got it home, though, it didn't turn on. He texted me some stuff he has to do to get it to turn on... that's definitely not "like new." I asked him to take it back, and it's been three days now. Offer up won't help cas they don't cover I. Person cash trades so I feel $#*!ed. I could take it to small claims court, but what if I lose and have to pay this POS even more of my money, cas the system is so flawed. Below is a picture of the profile that scammed me. I'm pretty sure he had a profile picture before we met, now it's gone.
I saw that OfferUp was a potentially good site to sell items. I posted several items and then OfferUp shut my account down alleging 'We noticed activity on your account that violates our Community Guidelines'. I guess posting end tables and chairs is somehow a violation. What a waste of time. I got 2 views but no other activity ie. I'm not sure how that constitutes a 'violation'. Don't bother with OfferUp. I ended up selling on Nextdoor and Facebook Marketplace.
When you sign up they let you post a lot, specially cars. As soon as you get used to doing so, they start limiting your postings to force you pay for it. Medieval and grotesque tactic. Disgusting, truly nasty customer service. I hope some competition comes along soon and bury these idiots. STAY AWAY!
Have several items listed and the ones I have gotten action on start by low-balling to less than half my selling price. Then they sound insulted that you won't sell to them.
Buying: it took 3 weeks for one person to reply. By then I'd bought from a store.
No vacation setting, you have to "deactivate" the item. No way to get back to the top unless you pay the bump fee.
I'm deleting my account.
This app needs to be erase from planet earth. Whoever is the owner of this app are miserable human beings. They never replied back and care less who you are. They also deactivate your account for no reason
There's nothing but dealerships on offer up selling they're cars. I don't think that is fair. For people like me who owns one car and needs the money and is just trying to sell the vehicle to make ends meet. Maybe the makers or the people who run this app could make a separate place or site for them to do they're business so that us little guys can do what we can. With all the vehicles that are constantly posted by them there's no chance for people to see what regular people are posting. Please help!
I bought supposed locked iPhone 12 pro max for parts, and the seller sent me a CLONE phone with a different imei number as ad
Vertised. I reported to offer up immediately, guess what they did, released my money to the criminal. Sending me an email that I never reported on time. Offer up go to your app and investigate it and you will find out I reported the issue same day. Please refund my money. This is wrong and bad for your company.
I've had pretty good luck buying and selling kids items and golf stuff.
Dunno why there are a bunch of negative reviews here but it looks like all the negative reviews are from people who left only one review. Kind of weird
Got a new phone, put in for password reset. Email came full of garbage no link to reset. Email offer up said they aware this is happening that was 10 days ago still no answer several emails … they suck! Can't sell going back to Craig's list. Should be offer little to no help
We should all inspire people to stop using this horrible app. It really deserves no stars. Letgo was a awesome app. The proof is most people gives OfferUp a one-star. You have to ask yourself why is that. Don't waste your time go anywhere else to sell your items. And I mean anywhere else is better in my opinion.
Over half the time the sellers never respond to you when you ask about their items. When you are the seller and pay the offerup fee to have your item promoted, offerup bombards you with fake buyers asking if it's available but then never replying when you try to reach out to them. The entire process is extremely sketchy because the site is run so poorly. Such a shame because this site would be an incredible way to buy and sell things if it was operated a lot better.
I discontinued using OfferUp a few years ago as there was so much fraud on the site. There was never an issue with Letgo. The letgo app and site was user friendly. Now that the two have merged, its just like the original OfferUp but worse. In addition, there are so many duplications of items for sale. Extremely disappointed and not sure I will even use it.
Hope OfferUp sees this
Ever since they changed the format. It
Sucks It's slower
Messages doesn't go through. They seemed to have changed it. But for the worse. I'm sure you had good intentions but you have terrible results. Now it looks like your trying to hard. Make simple not fancy. Might work. Wish let go came back. Sad you bought them and then made it worse
I buy and sell a lot online and overwhelmingly positive experience; this was my first experience with OfferUp. I purchased an antique shaving mirror from a seller CA. Paid A LOT for it because it's exactly what I'd been looking for. Questioned if shipping was really possible, seller said yes. He sent it with NO protection, didn't make the box fragile and NO insurance mailed all the way to MA. I am horrified. He is not taking any responsibility and I cannot get an answer or help or REFUND from OfferUp. Convinced the whole company is a scam. I can't process a for buyer protection because "someone" already did. Hmmmmm, wonder who that could be? Thinking the seller.
I've bought quite a few items and sold once or twice through offerup. It was easy meeting in person. Seems like now a search only brings up mostly items that are miles away, shipping only, posts that are years old and lots of ads. This new offerup sucks... J
Like anywhere, stick to face to face and be safe! Buying off Offerup with shipping is taking a chance of getting scammed. I've noticed they will sell items with zero intentions of shipping and will ghost you after payment. Many will refer you to their bogus rating which are easily manipulated. And, the staff there are more concerned about sellers than protecting the buyers.
Stay clear of this place
Because of their Algorithms, competitors can band you from selling on this site by simply reporting your listing is wrong even through nothing is wrong with posting. No posting without app. What if you use a laptop and a cell? These guys are the worst! Don't waste your time with these losers.
OfferUp customer service has by far been one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had with a business. I have had numerous issues with my postings without any help whatsoever. I don't recommend using this platform and would steer people towards any other platform, such as Facebook, Craigslist, and Nextdoor.
I sold cars on OfferUp. The site is full of scammers and spam. You get a hundred messages a day asking for your phone number from fake accounts. The site will also take your money when you post items, and not even actually post the item. If you request refunds, they will cancel your account. Whole website is a scam and needs to be shut down! Good luck with customer service, they will give you the run around.
I'd like to buy or ask the seller a question. But (almost) every time I try, the Offerup site won't let me send the message - I keep getting an error message telling me to refresh the page. Sellers must not be getting offers or receiving messages from potential buyers and that is a shame. On the odd occasion when I am able to complete/send a message, the seller never responds, so I don't know if they are even getting the communications. Don't waste your time with this site - Offerup sucks!
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
OfferUp has a rating of 1.1 stars from 867 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with OfferUp most frequently mention customer service, phone number and credit card. OfferUp ranks 586th among Marketplace sites.
