I purchased a pair of eyeglass frames from them. I didn't care for them, I had no idea when I returned them for an exchange they were going to keep my initial purchase amount, & also the $9.95 I sent to cover shipping of the new frames out to me. They claim customer service is a priority. They never answer their phones, their live chat is non-existent. They don't even have a store, it's just a p. O. box in some shipping store. The only person I had the total misfortune of dealing with was an idiot by the name of Samantha Stein.
There are so many reasons I am giving them five star reviews. But I would say original product and competitive price. The model I ordered was not in stock any where but they had it in stock. Thank you!
My transaction started in January and it's now mid-June. I lost $279.
All communication was by email. Initially, "Samantha" helped me along the way; the company shipped a pair of frames after about a month, which were the wrong size. I returned the frames immediately and the company said they would keep looking for the right size. After a while, I figured out the right sized frames were unavailable. Then they just strung me along for a few months without a refund; after a while, "Samantha" never even bothered to reply to my queries. I feel like an idiot.

I am not an employee, I have much better than a fifth grade education, my "Engrish" is just fine, and I was very happy with my glasses.
I wanted designer frames for less than $400 and NYCOptics had the best price I found on the frames.
I wanted the thinnest lenses so that my pretty designer frames would not slide down my nose due to my strong prescription.
They were not inexpensive but they were exactly what I wanted, and they were less expensive than the other sites carrying the exact frame I wanted.
The prescription is right on.
Some people may be unhappy with their experience but they should not accuse everyone who is happy about theirs of being liars.
Beware of NYC Optics. I reported my incident to the authorities who have told me that NYC Optics are under investigation for online fraud through their website and ebay transactions. They will charge your credit card, never send your product, and fight you tooth and nail to keep the money. They wont however take any calls or respond to your emails. Don't go down this path. TOTAL SCAM!
With all due respect people, before you purchase from this "company" take note that all the "positive" reviews are written from a person with either a fifth grade education or someone who doesn't speak English very well, perhaps a foreigner. For crying outloud this website is a total scam. Nice try buddy!
I purchased a pair of glasses frames from NYOptics. They happily charged my credit card and never sent the frames. They also did not reply to my email. Don't know why there site is permitted to be online still.
I've been shopping online for years never had a bad experience until now--guess I was too trusting. I can confirm that this site is a fraud, and like others notified my bank. The phone number the vendor gives the bank for the transaction is a fake number, and the contact number at the website just gets you to a voice recording and then disconnects you. No response to e-mail. FYI, this site (calling itself NYC Optics, but really Popular Optics Inc.--if you place an order you'll get a confirmation e-mail from both) has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau.
First I never received a receipt to send to my insurance company. $400 and nothing. Second -my frames arrived 3 weeks late and without lenses. They said they would ship Fedex and did not. Their customer service were never able to get me my lenses.
I admit, I was skeptical after placing my order. And not having a number to call was making me very nervous. But every time I sent an email, they answered it within 24 hours and I always received and answer to my panicky questions.
Today I received my glasses and I am so excited. They are perfect and real. What a great price. I am so happy about my purchase.
They will take your money. You will never receive your glasses. When you call you will hear what sounds like a professional recording telling you to wait for the next customer service representative and then you will be cut off. If you try to chat with them online you will always find them offline. If you email you will not get a response. I have notified my bank's fraud dept.
Haha, all the 5 star 'reviews' are hilarious, the Engrish is terrible! If you're gonna try a scam and build a pretty good looking website, at least invest a bit of money to make your fake 5 star reviews sound a bit more legitimate! This has scam written all over it!
Site lies about inventory in stock. Charged my CC and told me frames were coming from manufacturer - but I know the manufacturer discontinued this style two years ago. SCAM!
They snatch your money as soon as you order and send you a than you e-mail. There is no customer service. The address they use is a pack and ship store in New York, the business owners are registered someplace in Arizona and their web host is in Virginia so if they steal your money good luck getting it back. I'm still waiting for my glasses that were ordered before Thanksgiving. No customer service phone, just e-mail with one person who answers when they feel like it. DONT DO IT!
From the time of college days, I am very much moody about choosing my glasses, and I was always looking for those who are cheap also. After many unsuccessful attempts I have found the online Shopping site, nycoptics.com that really help me out of my desires. Even I suggest you to many a office colleague and many friends to buy glasses only from this website.
Being very choosy, no local shop can provide me my kind of glass which makes me satisfied, then a friend of mine suggested me the name of nycoptics.com, really the online site is mind blowing in designs and very cost effective too.
Starting from those who wants high end fashionista and to those Bikers who want to protect their eyes and also impress others by their stunts, nycoptics.com upholds a very huge but rare collection for them and ready to provide them safely in less than three business days.
From a very long period I was searching a cost effective but a very attractive Crizal glasses for myself. Recently, my best friend has suggested me the name of nycoptics.com and trusts me this is the most amazing collection which I have seen in my lifetime.
If you are currently looking for sunglasses with the prospect of visibility and for getting the glasses with the exotic frames, then go for the Gucci, and no one can serve and supply such huge range other than nycoptics.com. Without stopping just go for them.
Answer: File an immediate complaint with your bank. Then keep checking to make sure they don't charge you again in the future!
Answer: I don't believe so. I have since found that I can buy my frames on eBay and send them to lens factory (on-line site) with a copy of my prescription, and it costs much less. It doesn't take any more time. For a small shipping charge, lens factory sends you a box with a return shipping label to send your frames and copy of prescription in. I can get decent bifocal progressives for around $110. That is about a third of what I paid for the lenses from NYC OPTICS and about a fourth of what they cost at my optometrist's office! If you go with NYCOptics, don't try to use the phone number. I had to do all my business with them through email. I decided that since my purchase is guaranteed with ebay, after a couple of bad experiences with other places on-line it is more reassuring to go with them and know that I don't have to fight to get my money back.
NYCOptics has a rating of 3.2 stars from 41 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. NYCOptics ranks 133rd among Sunglasses sites.
