Adam here again. Im 68. I wrote another review about 6 years ago for newrockies. Installed on 3 cars and this is the 4th one! 6 years with the newrockies module in 3 cars and they still had no starting issues whatsoever! Now I got another one of their bypass for my 2018 colorado another success! Saved 4 times! I still see negative reviews saying they don't get back to emails with returns have you even checked the spam folder? If you didn't just try you wil find out your missing at least a third of your emails. They ALWAYS answer have a neighbor that had to return he was refunded even after almost 2 months. And then the cry babies that say it did not work for them it's a junk. Really? Theres at least a hundred possible causes for a nostart issue don't tell me your thinking the newrockies module would fix them all! If it's not a vats passkey passlock proble it wont fix it! That's pretty obvious to me. It's not designed to fix your car its designed to fix SECURITY in your car! 6,000 people on their facebook page an your thinking it's junk because it did not fix your issue? Just know what your buying instead!
The module works very well we have it installed in 3 of our cars and never fails. They have problems in their support system. I was pissed they did not respond many times to my messages... only to find out they DID answer but their emails were ending up in my junk folder! I found so much stuff in that junk folder that wasn't junk at all! Well I was lucky I found a way to contact Luca Lambruschini which is an amazing guy and the creator of the module and NewRockies. Told him about the problems! They are working on a completely new system and website that will fix all of it. Guys check your spam/junk folder if you don't find replies to your return requests or support emails! You'll find them all in there! NewRockies saved my 3rd car! Yeah!
I try to an understanding and forgiving person... So I leave this review only as a last resort. They refuse to respond to me after almost begging for someone to talk to me over the course of months (it has been their pattern). The unit was defective and left my friend stranded about 30 times. I kept telling them the situation over and over thinking they would answer and say "let's send u out a new unit" (no big deal, things happen). What bothers me is the absence of communication. Out of all my messages they did respond a couple times. One time was when I talked about leaving a bad review. Then they suddenly answered after many unanswered messages. They insisted I had to mail the unit back before they could let me try another. I mailed it back in a super padded package w a note written w all my information, order #, etc. I also messaged them over and over w the same info.
I saw the usps tracking was accepted by them. I waited and waited for response from them like "hey we received the unit..." I sent a friendly message asking if they got it. No response... Waited another week, sent a few more... No response. Got a little frustrated and more stern... No response... So now they took my friends 300$ and also have their unit back and after my begging for a response... It's been a long time and still nothing. They absolutely do not care about communication and customer service. The ad sounds all great until u need to actually have a discussion w someone or u have an issue u need help with. Then, they ghost u. And I'm talking about over a span of over a month, they wouldn't respond. And now after I mailed the unit back, it's been weeks... No response. My poor friend saved up her $ for this and they got her $ and the unit and we have nothing. I am an Auto Technician and I have my own business... I genuinely love my customers/friends and I know how important it is to make people feel safe and cared about. Someone there is simply seeing the messages and not interested. It doesn't take anything to have commination w people especially when it's obvious they r getting desperate and need help. This tells me something about the heart of this place and it's concerning. I really hated to have to leave an honest review like this... I don't want harm someone's business... But I'm about 10 messages past when I should have already done it. I was trying to b patient and understanding. I hope I can save someone else from this experience.
I wanted to buy your product. I had a couple questions I wanted answered before I bought.I sent a email an Justin wrote back wanting to help me make the purchase.I emailed him back with my questions.Instead of answering the questions he again emailed me just wanting to sell me the product.Why would I buy your product when you can't answer 2 simple questions?
For the last 10 days I have been trying to get clear instructions on how to hook this thing up. The instructions on the website for my truck are unclear. Jack, the answer guy is a complete JOKE. I keep getting partial answers, unclear answers, short, rude answers. Jack, you have to know WHAT I am asking so why can you not answer me clearly. I wish I had never bought this thing and if Jack cant get it done today I am sending it back. My nerves are shot...I sent it back. Return was the easiest thing about the whole experience.
After connection it did not have the light on the module, therefore checked the power on B2 with the ground A1 read 0 volts. Ran a new ground restored power to module and van started. Make sure to check incoming power to module pink wire B2 and black wire A1 ground. Therefore in my case I had a bad ground coming into the GM security module connector C1 pin A1 black wire, wich caused the module to act like there is a security problem shutting off the fuel injectors.
Ordered NewRockies Pro Module fall of 2022 for '02 GMC Envoy. It worked well for nearly 6 months then I started having pass key security issues again. Email NR and they told me what to check. Yup I had not secured one of the wires properly. Bingo I thought! But 2 months later the issue came back - light was on, wires were all secure. Oh no! Tell you what NewRockies is legit! Jack helped me the whole with helpful hints and then with a whole new replace Module. If you're having a pass key issue don't sweat it, buy a NewRockies Pro. They will guide you through installation and back their product. Life is good!
This wasn't the fix for me because I had problems with my ECM on my 2009 GMC savana. Newrockies doesn't have a phone number you can call but they do e-mail you back usually within 24 hrs. Jack was helpful in troubleshooting any issue but in the end it was a problem that their module couldn't fix, Justin made sure the refund process went smoothly. So to conclude Newrockies IS NOT A SCAM and I would do business with them again. Scott lipscomb

Don't believe anything you read about "ease of installation." The installation instructions are a JOKE! On my truck you either need to completely remove the dash or cut an access hole to access the GM passkey module. I chose to cut a hole in the inner plastic dash support, which isn't visible after the trim goes back on. So far, so good, it seems to have worked - but I spent about 8 hours on the installation. That might have been ok, except that they made it sound so easy on their website. They should have a huge disclaimer reading "some installations may be challenging or seemingly impossible."
My 2000 Jimmy one morning all of a sudden wouldn't run anymore I tried everything and new ignition a new starter switch I tried resetting the passlock numerous amount of times each time I was just banging my head against the wall. And then I found this promod I wasn't sure if it was what I needed I talk to customer support they were so helpful. I received my package quickly I followed the instructions when I was done I did the relearn and all of a sudden my vehicle was running I couldn't be any happier every time I stick the key and now it starts thank you so much
I want to relay my experience with my 2006 GMC Canyon. I purchased this truck in 2010 and in 2011 began having issues with the Passlock system (key security). I might sit for 30 minutes before it would start. I purchased the bypass module and the problems went away and stayed away. Until November of 2020 (who could have guessed, LOL). Long story short, the original module failed. I contacted Newrockies, and 9 years later they honored the lifetime warranty and sent me a new one. Problem fixed, once again. My daughter now drives this truck, and Newrockies saved her new job with their prompt customer service. I specifically want to give a shout out to Justin, who went to great lengths to get the new one out in a timely manner. Can't say enough good about these folks!

Bought a module for a 97 Acheiva. NewRockies send me a diagram on how to wire it up. I installed it but didn't work. Was able to send it Back and get a full refund. Good customer support. Thanks again.

Modules do not work all the time, and tech support is terrible only can communicate with e-mail so when you have a problem could take days for a response and is real short and brief. Only reason I am giving two stars is because they have work for me in the past but not the last two times?
I purchased the pro module for my 98 chevy truck. Since first installation, I have removed and re installed it 3 times. I have checked switches repeatedly (shocker, they are still the same!)
I managed to get it to start on 2 occasions for about a day at a time before it stopped working again. I have been talking to tech support for DAYS, and there is no phone number and no other way to contact besides waiting forever on a reply via email.
When they do reply, it has consistently been asking if I checked wiring and switches... they literally asked me that when my previous message stated I had already done so. I am very disgusted with this. I wanted so bad for this to work!
Hello Brianna, we are sorry the PRO Module did not work out for you. The business that we are in can sometimes be tricky, we try our best to guide and help customers troubleshoot as much as we possibly can remotely. There is only so much we can do without actually being there, that is why our support staff asked so many questions and asked for so much info. Sometimes there are other things going on in the vehicle that can interrupt the function of the PRO Module, or problems that can masquerade as a security issue in the first place. Every once in a while, we get one of those vehicles that we simply have no answer to without a lot of extra data needed from the customer. Our ultimate goal is to help our customers make their vehicle reliable again for a lesser cost than the typical dealer price. If that hasn't happened, we gladly accept return for refund. I have sent you an email containing the info needed to return. Again, we are sorry we could not help you with your Suburban.
I ORDERED THIS BYPASS MODULE FOR MY CHEVY. DONT LET THE AD MISLEAD YOU. IT COMES WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THEIR WEBSITE FOR INSTRUCTIONS. AND MORE THAN LIKEY THEY ARE NOT CORRECT. I WENT BACK N FORTH WITH THEIR SO CALLED TECH SUPPORT FOR 3 DAYS AND NEVER COULD GET THE CORRECT INSTRUCTIONS FOR MY CAR. THEN THIS GUY SENT PHOTOS TELLING ME THAT THIS IS WHATS IN MY CAR. HOWEVER THATS NOT WAS EXISTING IN MY CAR. HE TRIED TO ACT LIKE I DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS THERE AND WHAT WASNT. I FINALLY SAID $#*! IT. AND STARTED THE RETURN PROCESS. BUY THIS PIECE OF $#*! AT YOUR OWN RISK! CHECK THE COMPATIBILITY LIST CAREFULLY. DONT LET THESE BOZO'S TELL YOU IT WILL WORK ON YOUR CAR. THEY DONT CARE IF IT HELPS YOU OR NOT. *** Check all your plug connections on the steering column, turned out that I had a loose plug connection on the top of the steering column, wedged in a piece of a ziptie to make the plug fit snuggly, and my car started right up. So check all connections.
Rob, again we are sorry the PRO Module did not work for you in your situation. I have reviewed the entirety of your ticket and i agree that returning the PRO Module for a full refund as advertised is your best course of action. Our support comes from the exact schematics and diagrams of parts that General Motors says is in your vehicle. These instructions are linked to at the bottom of every page on our website in the footer, as well as by the list of supported vehicles. If your vehicle is some sort of "one-off", customized, or altered beyond those diagrams, we have no ability to know that or see that. Our support explained what to look for and even went as far as to send you actual pictures of the components in the instructions, but obviously we could not make a connection with what you said was in front of you. We do the best we can in helping customers diagnose and troubleshoot. We have PRO Modules in hundreds of vehicles just like yours with no issues. We'll be looking for your return.
I paid $259 for this bypass. I installed it and it was detective according to the experts at Newrockies. I sent it back and I have not received anything from this company. I know I lost my money and I wished I had not Spent so much on bypass. Best yo go to the dealer and have them repair the passlock.
Hello Robert, we have no record of your return. I looked through the ticket that you started (#63454) and i found the tracking number you had sent us a picture of. After entering the tracking, i see the problem. It has been "in transit" since March 22. It is obviously lost in the mail system. I will inform staff to refund you ASAP as this is something out of everybody's control.

Thank You Newrockies! I fixed my 1997 88 Oldsmobile by installing the Newrockies Passlock Bypass Pro Module! My security light kept flashing and my car would not start. That's the lowest feeling when you live out in the middle of no where, on top of a mountain in the National Forest. However I was able to fix the situation, without trouble shooting in pairs, other than a new battery. It was not the battery. Money wasted. Yet here I am with a running car, because I came across this website and took a chance at beating all odds I recommend you check this out if you're in the same situation or similar as I was. I'm thrilled for my successful self repair- permanent repair I should add. Five stars all the way (be prepared to work, it can take awhile if you have no clue what anything means as I didn't understand any of the instructions and it took me 3 days to finally get it installed. I had to basically find out what every word meant because I'm not mechanically inclined and didn't understand. For a long time I stared into the car, behind the glove box, looking at unknown parts, (to me) at multiple devices with dumbfounded awe and confusion, however if you understand cars and wires and stuff this is EASY) Thanks again Newrockies

Answer: Short answer, "it can". Long answer, there is an issue with the skylark and achieva. On those specific vehicles there is an issue in the gauge cluster that can masquerade as a security issue. If it is indeed a security issue, our PRO Module will work. If it's a gauge issue, it will not. Unfortunately there's no way way to tell. This is why we ended up pulling the vehicles from our list. If you're at the point where you need to try, I can dig up the old instructions for you. 30 day warranty will still be valid.
