Have a pending transaction with Netspend for 2 weeks and Netspend won't release funds back to my account. The merchant (my Credit Union) has verified they don't see transaction to verify, accept, or cancel. Netspend has a moving target as to when the funds will be put back into my account. First it was Jan. 19, then Jan. 24 and now who knows... On vacation and really need the funds. ($1318)

Have a pending transaction with Netspend for 2 weeks and Netspend won't release funds back to my account. The merchant (my Credit Union) has verified they don't see transaction to verify, accept, or cancel. Netspend has a moving target as to when the funds will be put back into my account. First it was Jan. 19, then Jan. 24 and now who knows... On vacation and really need the funds. ($1318)

I was supposed to have received a $50 pre-paid card from them. The card never showed. When you call their customer service, they do not let you speak to a representative without said card number. So then your last resort is through email, to which they just tell you to call the number and speak to customer service.

After all of this, out of pure exhaustion I gave up. Recently I received an email saying the card would soon expire due to inactivity. I once more went through this process and experienced the same run-around.

It's one circulative process that is scummy, dirty, and mad evil. No doubt the worst company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

I bought a visa netspend card at Walgreens for my kid to play games online. It wont activate. I set up an account to no avail. I emailed netspend. No help there. I "chatted" and...no help there. I called. It wants me to give my social security or pin. I have no pin! They send me a card to set up which had nothing to do with the prepaid card I bought from Walgreens. So frustrated.

Horrible customer service, I was transferred many times without anyone being able to activate my card. Customer service representatives were rude and un knowledgeable. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT buy a netspend card.

Card hacked, Disputes filed, clearly was fraud. They denied my disputes, I now have an attorney. They inconvenienced me and now do to over 30 day to get a refund my bills were late. This is totally on them get your money out. They allowed the hacker to change my PW and phone number. They knew when my deposit hit, how much was left after their attack on me. Poor Business and practices. IC3 filed with the FBI

Bought a prepaid $100 prepaid card at the end of november 2023, and could not access the funds. I could not get the card activated, and after multiple emails and calls they tell me that their records show my account has already been closed, and my social security number showed up as belonging to a deceased person. I checked my credit report with all 3 major bureaus, my chex systems report, and my records at the social security administration. None of them list me as deceased. They told me to get some form from the social security office to show I was mistakenly marked deceased, but I cant get it because they never made that mistake. I recommend not even making eye contact with netspend cards.

So this is my 3rd day on the phone with them. First car was very rude. Sent them documentation for last year to verify who I was still won't reactivate my account. I may lose my job because I can't get to work. Information sent license, tax information, paystub and others. I'm tired of jumping through hoops work theses people. DON'T ACTIVATE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM. Save yourself the trouble. They are not willing to work with you at all.

Recently on 12/25/23 my card was somehow hacked, account drained, and netspend has been no help. They tell you to file a dispute which can take anywhere from 10 to 90 days and in the meantime you are out your funds. They do not do like traditional banks and credit your account.

It costs just shy of $4.00 to load AND they charge you $1.50 on every purchase!.they sent me a new 'chip' card to keep spending,but $#*! that.

Charging me $1.95 FOR EVERY PURCHASE is theft. I put $300 on my card but after your exorbitant fees I only spent about $200 of it. Lesson learned!

Severely pissed off after waiting over a month in a half for the dispute team to get my money back from a transaction I didn't make in the amount of 157.98 they denied it and won't give me my money back this is wrong and netspend can go to hell stay clear of getting a netspend card nothing but hell on earth with these people this is not the first time I've had an issue with them. I've had several and they don't do $#*! about anything

Somebody was stealing my money over time off my NetSpend card. Only when they start making big purchases for almost $100 that it started to be noticeable. Contact NetSpend they told me that they could not find no fraudulent claim. Because my card was charged over long period of time. Mind you without me knowing. To me they didn't care cuz they were receiving a portion of that money

Took 3 weeks to get card, then 3 phone calls to get it activated for the app wouldn't do it, then 5 phone calls to attempt to put money on the card to be able to use which still won't allow to do it not online on the phone and not in the app spent way took much time and effort to even consider using it ever!

Back in December 2023 I had a fraud claim open and settled in a claim to have mailed me a check to my mailing address here we are in March 2024 and these people have to say message me anything or send anything in the mail and when I call it is they have working for him have no knowledge of what they're doing or any procedures to get your money back and the emails ha see any emails I've sent them and they said they don't know what I'm talking about when I have proof in my email and in my physical mailbox. So it needs to happen to companies like this. We need to come together and sue them and bring them down so they don't get away with garbage like this and they message you saying contact their email don't waste your time just take them to court.

I pay the same bills every month, same companies every month and netspend keeps denying my transactions an blocking my card. I have to go through hoops to use my fund. It feels so illegal. Customer service will put me on hold an leave me there, hang up on me, transfer me to random departments. This company is horrible. Time for me to bank somewhere else. I have kids. I dont have time for my money that i worked for to be blocked from using. What if i was stranded or had an emergency an cant access my money. I dont know how this company is still in business. The worst thing about this company is the customer service. Worst experience every single time. Every single person has broken English. Can barely understand them an visa versa. Horrible horrible horrible. 0 stars

I was a loyal NetSpend customer for many years with any trouble. All of a sudden just before my payday, I called NetSpend to ask a question, when I found out that my account had been closed! They did this without calling, texting, writing, or emailing me! I asked why, and got an answer that made absolutely no sense at all! Unfortunately, I live from payday to payday. So, because they decided to close my account just before payday, my family and I were left without any way to access my money! That was almost all of the money that I had in the world! We live in a hotel right now. I have to pay for it weekly! It is by the grace of God that we didn't end up getting put out into the street all because NetSpend! It took me a week and a day to finally get my payroll check! It costed me $27 just to cash the check that they sent to me! They put me through all of this for no reason! Future or present customers of NetSpend beware! They will burn you! This is a chicken crap company.

I was given a NetSpend Debit card of $50 as a bday gift. I tried to activate it online only to be told to call their customer service number. I called and spoke to a rep and they said I have to talk to the primary account holder. It was purchased as a gift and no account holder is listed on the account. I can't activate the card and now the person who paid $50 plus the NetSpend $2.95 fee is out of pocket. NetSpend is a rippoff and scam. I have a copy of the receipt. I hope more people realize that this company is out to make money off of people and will take advantage at any cost. Please stay clear of them! Go get a reputable debit card at a local credit union or local bank.

Do not use this company they not only will charge you ridiculous fees to do any type of transactions they also take money for non transactions even though you have me transactions and they're saying your card has been locked no one wanted to help you but they take the last little bit of money you have on your card and $#*! you over

My account got hacked and I've been going thru the process of filing my dispute and they just keep on sending me in circles! And when ever I ask to speak to a supervisor they put me on hold FOREVER! Hoping that I'll just hang up and the supervisor never answers the phone!

I admitted that I was the one that used my card for a transaction that I found was a bad deal. So NetSpend went ahead and blocked my card. The money on it is to pay my bills which I can't now. I asked the man to expedite my new card and he said that it will cost me $25 and then he tells me that he can't expedite my new card to my p.o.box. That is a bunch of crock

They will not activate my son's card after numerous attempts. Now they want documentation of a social security card, proof of address, and 3 months worth of utility bills. It's all over seas, they will take your identity! I really hope this corporation gets shutdown.

Hi, I am having major difficulties with NETSPEND as a thief got into my account on the 19th of February and waited for me to get paid again, then locked me out of my own account and changed the info to theirs. NetSpend would cancel cards as they came in but would not freeze the account for suspicious activity. They let my account drain to about $150 and now I have about $1500 gone because this fool made a virtual card in my name so they could keep transferring my money undetected. They went on numerous Lyft rides, bought Panda Express, tried to buy LEGOS, and who knows what else. PLEASE look into this as I cannot pay bills nor buy food to feed my family! I have kids on the spectrum and one cannot get much-needed therapy because I don't have access to my account. This is a nightmare! These pictures I uploaded are just some of the funds stolen. I AM LOCKED OUT OF MY ACCOUNT, the hacker is using his info as mine. Thank you

**UPDATE** I thought that Netspend had closed my account because this hacker is connected to this and was waiting for more funds to be added, and cleared by the bank to be returned to me. As soon as $900 something was redeposited by Netspend, I got a text, and within minutes, I was down to $6.98. I now have to wait until all pending unauthorized transactions are cleared which is going to take time. I still do not have money, so can't buy food or pay bills. THANKS! Is this an inside job because it's pretty sophisticated!

I have been with Netspend for several years; once in awhile there would be unauthorized purchases and they usually helped me right away. They did block physical cards but allowed this person to continue to drain my account by the use of a virtual card in my name to put my hard-earned money into their own private account. I have lost count on how many people I have talked to, how many documents sent in and rejected, and been given a complete run around. This has been going on since Febuary 19th.
