We monitor reviews for authenticity
We reported a fraudulent copy of an existing domain, the fraudulent domain is actively sending out phishing emails. The abuse report procedure is not yielding results.
NameSilo is making profit our of fraudulent activities of their customers,
I have been a NameSilo customer for over 14 years, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. One of my domain's email stopped arriving, and it took me weeks to discover this after a customer notified me via social media about email bounces. I checked the DNS records and confirmed the issues myself. My MX email platform couldn't identify the problem either. When I contacted NameSilo, they simply stated my account was banned and that I must contact their abuse team. The abuse team informed me there was a phishing complaint from ChainPatrol flagging my domain. However, the domain is used exclusively for a custom AI-powered trading analysis web app behind a secure authentication page that only I have access to—there was no phishing or illegal activity. Despite explaining this, NameSilo refused to apologize, provide any detailed explanation, or even acknowledge that they failed to notify me before banning the domain. To make matters worse, their abuse and support teams blocked my email replies, forcing me to use different email addresses just to continue the conversation. My multiple requests to speak with a manager were ignored. STAY FAR AWAY from NameSilo. Their unprofessional behavior of banning accounts on vague reports without investigation or warning is unacceptable. Such arbitrary actions have caused me severe disruption and loss of service without any accountability.
Thank you for the amazing customer support you guys have. It's gold! Leonid was extremely helpful with all my questions.
The title of the review says it all. Their hosting was horrific. My website would not load or function. For months they said it was an issue with my website itself and not their service. Finally, after a client couldn't load my site and I lost business, I switched to Hostinger. My website is light years faster and actually works not. Do not use them for hosting.
Avoid using NameSilo to sell domains. They impose a 180-day hold on your payment after a successful sale. I sold a domain for $999, but now I have to wait six months to get paid. This is unacceptable and a terrible experience for sellers. Be cautious if you're considering their marketplace.
NameSilo has demonstrated complete incompetence in handling complaints about phishing sites. I have repeatedly contacted their support team with clear evidence of fraudulent activity involving the following domains:
Phishing Report: #******* [orbiita.biz]
Phishing Report: #******* [orbiita.biz]
Phishing Report: #******* [orbiita.biz]
Phishing Report: #******* [orbiita.biz]
Phishing Report: #******* [orbiita.biz]
Initially, they blocked the domain orbiita.biz under ticket #*******, but shortly after, they unblocked it without any explanation. I submitted multiple follow-up complaints, but they either refused to act or provided generic responses with no actual action taken.
Instead of addressing the issue, NameSilo's support team spends time making accusations and neglecting their direct responsibilities. This raises serious concerns about their commitment to user safety and compliance with the Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA).
I have also filed a complaint with ICANN (case number *******) and continue to gather evidence for further escalation. NameSilo actively ignores phishing-related issues, exposing users to significant risks and undermining trust in their services.
If you value security and timely problem resolution, I do not recommend this registrar.
What started out as a good experience, eventually turned to garbage. Warning, they wont let you know if your credit card is expired in advance of the auto renew. When it fails, they will auction your domain. They got $2.01 for my domain vs the renew cost of that.com, and the.net and.org domains. I told them they lost me as a customer over $2.01 and the customer service rep actually bragged that they got the registration fee and a buyer fee on top of that. They have a phone number but no customer service over the phone.
Go with a REAL domain registrar that has REAL customer service by phone and wont let you lose your intellectual property.
Absolutely unprofessional and liability to any business owner. Upon switching to another Registrar, they promptly deleted all data including DNS and IP with no recourse. My website and email was shut down within 24 hours of transfer and left my business in complete limbo. They are absolutely no help unless you are paying for their services. If you choose NameSilo and then decide to leave, they will delete all data immediately - essentially flipping you the bird just for not continuing business with them.
Worst hosting provider. The site is extremely slow and server error 500 is shown 20 times during the day and then the site is not on the internet, which ruined my work. Fraudsters!
Namesilo has this great deal on their home page, its annoying you cannot close that offer I don't want, the only option is to click the Get offer button. Very slick marketing from a slimy company forcing offers down customers throats.
I had a domain up for renewal, I was set to auto renew, I wanted to check what the autorenew price but you can't find it. I want to know the renewal price before I enable or disable the autorenew button.
This company isn't transparent in pricing by hiding this from customers.
Sold domains via namesilo marketplace. Waited 1 week to be able to withdraw funds. Then waited another 10 days for funds to be received. In reality they didn't not process the withdrawl. After contacting support they finally send funds. So they didn't want to part with my money. Received 5% less than was sent. Namesilo explained that they sent the full amount and paid all fees for wire transfer. In reality they sent payment with an option that fees are not paid and they should be charged along the way.
After uncovering this support stopped responding to my inquiries. I consider that the company scammed me.
There is an update for this review - this scammers at first denied everything then they decided to compensate me via PayPal. I told them that I do not use PayPal and wait for payment via wire. Finally, they said that they owe nothing to me.
Afterwards they begin to threaten me that if I do not remove my reviews there will be no compensation.
All responses from the company email were without any name and with grammatical and factual errors.
This company is public and mislead customers in their advertising.
I'm gonna to contact regulators so they be fined for defrauding customers.
Terrible hosting company! Even worse support, I regret trusting them with my websites! I was disappointed with the support when I needed it, my hosting was suspended without any possibility of backup and I only found out why after contacting them as they didn't inform me beforehand.
I have an account with them. They will not allow me to login to it. I know my login credentials. I have tried my username, website name, and even my email. Nothing works and the only way they would let me login is to show proof of payment for something that I have no idea what it is.
When I make a report of criminal behavior to a webhost/registrar I expect them to investigate and take action based on evidence.
NameSilo tries to hide reports of phishing by ignore communications to their abuse contact info and forcing you to use their internal form system so that you cannot prove your communication to them regarding the abuse and they can ignore it as long as they want.
I've included an image where you can see their response to a complaint of criminal activity, they say "we cannot simply take reports at face value " This sounds reasonable at first glance; except then if you think about it you realize this also applies when you submit their form. Or you know they could look at the submitted proof, ask for more proof, aske their customer, or investigate if they were not directly profiting from their behavior.
This is the worst domain name provider I have come across in over 20 years of business, they will permanently deactivate your domain names without any notice. Their customer service is also very rude, always despising their customers, and only one sentence in each reply.
Beware. At one time they were good. But they're upgrading their interface and apparently functionality is not working reliably.
Domains showing as 'active' which may or may not actually be active. Dashboard showing inaccurate information. And support staff who apparently skims support requests, asks for the same thing numerous times and doesn't understand that you just answered that question 3 times, with screenshots. And never actually understands, let alone is able to fix the problem.
I am so glad I did the move to NameSilo. Each and every time I get stuck on something that I am not too sure about, they are always ready and willing to help me out.
NameSilo protects pedophilia
NameSilo protects pedophilia and criminals, after numerous reports they do nothing. Lots of animal and child rape sites.

Please note these are domain name thieves. My company had a simple showcase site. And they suspended me for, supposedly, phishing. When it is false. I'm not a programmer, I wouldn't even know how to do it.
Very brutal communication, which does not allow any discussions. They suspend your account without warning for false reasons.
A complaint will be filed by my lawyer.
I've been a customer of NameSilo for years and have never had an issue with them. I use them mainly for name registrations and DNS and all have been great. I am considering switching my hosting to them. Very inexpensive!

Hi Noah! Thanks for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced.
Our team did look into the performance issues and found that while your SSL was installed, mixed content (a mix of secure and non-secure elements) was causing the site to load improperly. We shared this with you at the time.
It’s possible the transfer process to your new host corrected those content issues, which could explain the improved performance without needing changes on your end.
We appreciate your feedback and are always working to improve our services.
