I called because I was concerned about the length of time the test was taking. I spoke to a very understanding, helpful person who looked at my account and assured me that everything was fine, just taking a little extra time. And the results were available within 2 days - even quicker than she said they might be. She was very, very nice. I can't say anything to the validity of the results but I am hoping they are accurate.

Grateful for the Support

A few days ago I received very helpful assistance from Lidija. I have used MyHeritage 10 years now so my online view is somewhat different than what family members on my genealogy site see and she helped me identify the differences so I can best help my members. She also helped to re-invite a member who lost her password and get her started again. It's support like this that makes using MYHeritage much simpler and enjoyable. Thank you Lidija.

Support help for renewal

My cc had expired so auto-renewal did not go through. I did not notice it; myheritage.com contacted me personally and helped me get a discount on their 2 services. There was an error in the billing dept. (my payments had gone through but the dept. thought they had not). I contacted myheritage Customer service by email. They got right back to me and straightened out their error. The customer service person, Mia, was courteous, responsive and efficient.

I started having save and sync problems with My Heritage Family Tree Builder. Eventually fixed with some boxes being ticked deep within the program files. I would never have found them myself or even known what to do. Thanks to Jonas and Noa for figuring this out after exchanging a number of emails. One suggestion to improve would be to have a direct link into My Heritage on-line support as the help icon (?) only goes to a PDF user guide. It took me a google search to get to the right place for contacting the support people.

Results & return postage

I should have read all terms on DNA package and how results are giving to us. First off, cost of postage-for return of DNA sample should be included in cost of DNA package. A very big inconvenience for the price of package. My fee was only $4 for return via usps, but is very petty and bad customer service. Secondly, too late I realized results are only emailed to client - not forwarded via post office with a hard copy. I already paid for three test kits as gifts and some of these recipients don't email...". What a fiasco that will be. I hope most people read "small print" before purchasing... Just make a buck and that is all your company is interested in. I feel scammed"...

I do understand your frustrations regarding the mailing of the envelope to the laboratory at your postage expense. The postage price depends on your local postal rates and shipping type you choose. As there are a number of ways in which our members choose to return their envelope and the different postage procedures around the globe, at this moment, we cannot offer one standard return solution.

Regarding receiving your results, we do not send a copy of your results by mail simply because MyHeritage DNA results are subject to changes as we improve our DNA matching technology, add new ethnicities to make our estimates better, and develop new features. The online format of your DNA results allows us to update you from the moment adjustments are made, so you can enjoy viewing your results over time. If those were provided by mail, they would eventually become outdated.

Although your results are only available online, you have the option to share them and print them. Instructions on how to do so can be found on our Help Center.

I enjoy using My Heritage. I paid for an upgrade but was limited to the basic features. One call resolved that problem, however the new information that had been found prior to the upgrade was lost after the upgrade. Expect the software to show pending matches even after youve confirmed them all, its just buggy that way regardless of how many times you log in and log out. I do love this software though - within 2 weeks Ive been able to learn more about my family than Id learned in my 47 years on this planet. Overall, well worth the money.

So trying to call is an experience in itself, Maja was nice yet no help at all. Just kept repeating that it will get there, even though I purchased one for my mom and she got hers a week ago. Call the post office and they stated that only a label was created and the package never made it there according to the records. So got no where and with most of the morning wasted on hold. This is not encouraging, if they can't ship it how can they make sure your DNA test is accurate? I'm very disappointed in this, not a great Christmas gift after all!

I wanted to experience this website last month (((for once))) and therefore I ordered the DNA test and that was it for me.
Now am surprised of cutting 129,50 € from my account!
I do not agree on any subscription and I am not interested in that and never have been. Thus I wanted to receive my money back and cancel all kinds of subscriptions! But I tried to contact the support and no one answered me!

I couldn't find any way on the website to stop my Premium subscription temporarily, and revert to Basic. I used the Contact link, and in a very short time, received an email from Sebastian letting me know that he had changed my subscription status. Nice to feel there are helpful staff when you need them.

I spoke with Lisa today in Tech Support. She was very kind to answer my questions that to her I am sure were quite immature. She answered the questions as if each one was the most intelligent ones she had ever heard. She seemed really happy to be able to help eliminate my confusion. Each person I have talked with treated me as if I was the only customer they had, never trying to rush my questions and concerns.

There service is fantastic. But also I accidentally forgot to end my auto renewal end ended up paying for a full annual membership accidentally. I messaged through Facebook and within an hour got a message from Shane M telling me a refund had been authorised. Couldn't be happier with the customer service and the speed of reply. Well done.

Argumentative over Refund

Don't use them. You sign up for trial then charged $315 if you don't cancel. Then they argue with you about what I did wrong and have to contact their "finance dept". Finally they "said" I'd get a refund in 5-10 days. Hope I'm not getting scammed.

I'm thinking it was a software glitch where I had differing sibling results from each parent's tree. Luckily I contacted Mathilde in customer support. She was extremely friendly and did a nice job of not making me feel like an idiot. She was very helpful and used her super powers to solve my issue. If this is a typical representation of customer support personnel, then cudos to MyHeritage.

My wife and I both got DNA kits and she has received her results already. Mine, however, have not been updated yet. We sent them in months ago and every time we call, there is a wait of 20+ people or the offfice is closed. It's interesting though because when we first got involved with this company, they were able to call us when they saw we were using the program to sell us the premium membership. They sure have customer support when they're making their money, but when they've dropped the ball, they seem to not want to be held accountable. I don't suggest people use this company.

I fully appreciate the complexities of running My Heritage and appreciate the great support I just received from Ron G when I got into a big spot of bother. The past process that required you to save your changes at the end of a session precluded saving mistakes. The process of repair by going back to a previous version is a tad complex for those not endowed with computer literacy. I must say I am aware of minor errors in my tree but I am apprehensive about trying to fix them lest I cause a cascading stuff up. The bigger the tree gets the greater the risk. Unfortunately some tree mistakes/poor research get perpetuated (I accept that its not My Heritages fault and we should be encouraged to point such issues out when we see them {life wasn't meant to be easy!}.

I paid 200.00 for the full access package to Myheritage. Animation feature does not work. Other features work randomly. I've reach out to customer support and just get replies saying "a ticket" has been made for my issue but they aren't doing anything to fix the animation problem. I've found this to be a total waste of money.

Scam
May 13, 2017

I have a multitude of Scots and Irish names in my family yet the swab test claimed I was 100% north and western European. Even more insulting is that I have found others that received the exact same report as me knowing it was false. Cannot speak to anyone at MyHeritage as calls are put into a queue with recording saying you are 25th in line. Have little hope of getting my money back, but hope to help others not to get ripped off by this scam.

I'm a new subscriber and had some install issues. They got back to me quickly, personally, and solved the problem very quickly. In days of old, this level of support would probably be unremarkable. Nowadays, it seems to be the exception. They seem to really care. I'm looking forward to researching my family!

I started my family tree on MyHeritage several years ago because it's free, and it was easy and very intuitive. I've recently gotten back into researching my family, and the tools and information they provide are just super. I've upgraded my program to the Premier version because I exceeded 200 people on my tree, and it was so worth it! They are continually adding new resources that have been very helpful. I had a problem recently with the upgrade to version 8.0, and they told me how to solve it, which I did with no problem. Also, the variety of reports that can be run are amazing. I love MyHeritage!

I cannot even make it through my trial, this website is so poor. First you pay a monthly fee just to store your family tree and info, then there are additional charges to search for records. What a ripoff. The directions for dropping my trial subscription are impossibly small and two hours of trying have gotten me no closer to getting rid of this scam.
