They take your money before asking or warning you. Took my bill money sitting here without lights. Thanks for warning. Or letting me know. Would have discontinued. But some people get caught up and for get. I never got email from them saying they took my money or it was trial period was over. Want refund. Don't use this site.if I don't get refund will be back on to tell people. Warning don't use
Don't ever use your phone number to get a two steps identification code from my heritage. If you do and then for some reason you can not get the code you will lose your account and all you have in it. There isn't anyway to get help by calling all have to be done by email and they will never answer your mail. I made the mistake of using my phone number to get the codes for more than I asked then one I never get one and now I am out of my website account with them.
My experience with MyHeritage was exceptional. The results were emailed within the indicated timeframe, and the results were clearly, and interestingly presented.
I was surprised, despite a somewhat vague family oral tradition, to discover
That I had some Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. When I called in to inquire about this
Connection Maya, a MyHeritage geneticist, was very helpful, and friendly. This experience has led me to want to do additional DNA testing to further refine matches. I would like to see if there are any connections between the Ashkenazi and Eastern European ancestry. Overall great experience.
I have had a very good experience with MyHeritage. The information I have received has enabled me to add many ancestors and facts about ancestors to my family tree. They send regular emails about matches that their software has found with other members' family trees and their process is simple and easy to learn. I recently asked for directions on how to turn off a feature and received a simple, effective suggestion the next day. The only fault I'll cite is that I wish there were details about the facts that other members cite - - how well those facts have been documented.
Signed up for the free two week trial. And it was the biggest mistake I ever made. I found very little information on my family heritage. And then I tried to cancel before the two weeks expired. Good luck doing that on their webpage and even better luck trying to do it on the phone. They want your heritage account number and if you don't give it to them immediately the computer system terminates the phone call and you have to start all over again. Each phone call was at least a half an hour of being on hold. Then they promised you a call back. They let the phone ring one time and then they shoot you an email saying they tried to call and you didn't answer. Who makes a phone call and allows only one ring before hanging up? Numerous emails are received with all kinds of excuses and blame. Took me two weeks to cancel this membership. And I still haven't received my reimbursement as of yet
One gigantic scam!

With reference to MyHeritage ticket #************** the problem I had been submitting for 15 months was eventually brilliantly identified and explained.
Unluckily, an easy solution seems to be unaivailable.
In addition, I didn't get any information about some commercial issues I had submitted, too, this time. I suppose It is other people's task.
I called Myheritage twice last week regarding 2 different issues. Both issues were solved quickly & professionally. Regarding my ethnicity estimate; I tested with both Ancestry & Myheritage. Ancestry's results were very broad. Example, they showed me 83% Great Britain, 8% Scandinavian. Myheritage broke that down to 50% Scandinavian (paternal grandmother from Sweden, great grandmother from Norway, maternal unknown), English 16.2%, Irish Scottish Welsh 14.8%, and Finnish 1.5%. (Not my complete results). Based on personal knowledge & paper trail, Myheritage is more accurate. Finally I want to say a big Thank You to Maor, one of Myheritage`S support team members who has gone above & beyond helping me with my DNA research questions. I highly recommend Myheritage.
I discovered things on this website that were very intriguing about my family, while attempting to find out more about my genetic profile. Unfortunately, at the time I couldn't afford premium access, but contacted them, spoke with a man named Josh who helped me cancel my subscription for now. He was one of the most helpful representatives I've ever talked to, 100%.
Great site, and great support!
Myheritage has improved quite a bit since last time I was customer. Still some things the adress, imo, the user interface is quite outdated when in Family Tree mode, also the cost is too high. Well worth the money, but for retired people it's way too much sometimes to subscribe for one year. Monthly payments should be allowed.
The most significant improvement is that today the staff at the service center has upped their skills tremendously, thus enabling us users to have a much better experience. I highly recommend Myheritage because of its sheer size, the cooperation with Geni and Familysearch and not the least, the excellent help I received from the support team. Thank you!
Called twice to get information on both issues. Both dealt with speedily and accurately. Learnt how to compress photos using "Office Word" so I could upload them onto the site as a result. Very useful. Thankyou
The site has lots of pluses, but a few irritants as well. After several tries at support I found courtesy and good intentions, but I didn't get the answer that worked until my 3rd or 4th try. Also it is frustratingly difficult to extend known lines of descent.
However MyHeritage has superb tools for finding links to possible relatives and for getting in touch with whoever posted given information.
First over charged me, didnt give sale price. Second after 9 weeks still no results have been sent. Was told not to contact them. Use another compan because this one is not honest in there dealings with customers.
Dear Dave,
I'm sorry you feel that way about MyHeritage and your overall satisfaction is extremely important to us.
Your feedback has been reported to our support department to ensure a better overall research experience for the millions of our members.
That being said, I'd like to learn more about how you were charged for a membership without understanding the sales price. I'd also like to assist you with tracking your results and find out who told you not to contact us.
Please E-mail my inbox at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com me so I may locate and verify your account and assist you with this issue as soon as possible.
I'll be looking for your e-mail.
Warm Regards

I know there's number of genealogy software with much wider functionality but unfortunately they all were written with old technologies and cannot be really used online alike to social network. MyHeritage has limited genealogy functionality (in comparison with old-school professional systems) but up-to-date interface and great tools for discovering documented information makes it all.
Frankly speaking support might have been working quicker for the paid account. I believe in 2018 professional service desk built by ITIL guidelines is a must for worldwide business.
Anyway I wish them success so that stability will never be a subject, functionality grows to address all types of genealogy problems and support works smoothly. Good luck!
The US postal service failed to find there address given on their sample self addressed envelope and I have noway to contact them through e-mail of phone. My sample remain still undelivered after 15 days.
Dear Zamir,
I'm sorry to hear about your struggle with sending your vials and I will do all I can to help.
It is also important for me to report any issues one may have with sending vials to better our DNA research experience.
In order to help, I must locate your registered MyHeritage account. Please e-mail me at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com from your registered e-mail address so I may help you with this as soon as possible.

I have been trying for 4 weeks to get results of DNA kit testing. Was told it would be available Feb 22 thru March 8th. Have contacted them by email 3 times. Tried calling and have been in due for at least 45 minutes (number 39 in line) Suddenly call is terminated. Surely someone out there can reply. I hope your kit has better results.
A special "thank you" for Julia, who, with patience and efficiency, untangled all my problems... Now, I am reconciled with my genealogy, left aside for quite a while, because I just could not fix the problems by myself (I am no GEEK!). I must add that some of your correspondants are more efficient than others... Thank you again Julia!
Just one regret: so sorry not to be able to have a direct phone line to get in touch IMMEDIATELY when there is a crucial question... try not to let us on tender hooks too long...
On the whole, am very pleased with My Heritage... greetings from Paris, m. Meier
Used once a year ago---think I signed up for a one month trial---and just got billed $153 even though I haven't used since and don't recall any email or any box I checked giving them approval to automatically renew. Phone rep had to get manager and then offered half off. So I pay almost $80 because they scammed me. No legitimate business has to operate this way.
The offered software from MyHeritage is beautiful to start putting your forefathers into it on a clear base. To me it is a wonderful experience to search for my roots. It is still a challenge to learn even more with all kind of matches. Questions are even handled by telephone upon request. I am still impressed.
The results for some of my family members show that MyHeritage has no sufficient data base for Asians. They cant differentiate between Chinese nor between Indonesia, Malay or Philippines. Both are huge groups of population and certainly not homogeneous.
Another issue was my own result. It was highly improbable. It left out two groups of ancestors (German and French) that I have reason to be sure of, but came up with 4 groups that I cant trace at all (English, Scandinavian, Greek, Italian). One or two surprises in a profile might make sense, but six? There must have been a sample mixup.
Dear Helmut,
I regret to find you are unhappy with your ethnicity estimate and I will do my best to help.
In estimating your ethnicity we compare and reference your DNA with other DNA testers around the globe whose genetic ethnicity is known. This has indeed helped many people in the DNA research community to find new discoveries.
I understand you tested a family member that is showing common DNA in the East Asian region. As you know, there are many different ethnic groups in Eastern Asia that are culturally and linguistically diverse. However, a lot of people in that region have not contributed their DNA for research purposes which would allow science to establish better ethnicity models.
With regards to your DNA, people in neighboring countries in Europe are found to have similar DNA for various reasons such as people moving around frequently and official borders and communities being occupied. Your ethnicity estimate does not measure the migration pattern of your ancestors but it does estimate the ethnicity that has been passed down to you. Therefore currently where there isn't sufficient statistical difference, the ethnicity estimate is retained on a higher regional level.
To view all the ethnicities we compare DNA with, please visit the Ethnicity Estimate page and select the 'All supported ethnicities' view. You will see that we currently reference 42 ethnic populations and this number will be growing even larger because of our own Founder Populations Project — one of the largest of its kind ever conducted. Our current amount of supported ethnicities is vigorous compared to other major DNA kit providers and this can be verified online by all means. Not only are we researching more ethnicities, our DNA database is robust and is constantly growing as we give the option of FREE raw DNA upload from other popular autosomal DNA test providers.
All this being said, what is most important for us is your overall satisfaction and research experience.
Therefore, I'd like to examine your research along with your DNA to ensure there indeed are no sample mixups as you describe in your feedback. In order to do so, I need to locate your registered MyHeritage account.
Please e-mail my inbox at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com at your nearest convenience so I can look into this as soon as possible.
I'll be looking for your e-mail.
Sincerely
Rafael

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
MyHeritage is generally well-regarded for its user-friendly platform and extensive database, which many customers find invaluable for tracing their ancestry and connecting with relatives. Users appreciate the regular updates and the powerful search capabilities that facilitate discoveries. However, concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to billing issues and the difficulty of reaching support. Some users have reported feeling overwhelmed by the volume of information and have encountered challenges in verifying data. Overall, while the service is praised for its features, improvements in customer support and communication are necessary to enhance user satisfaction.
