An ideal way to find a tradesman. We wanted someone to fit our laminate flooring. Flooring shops didn't want to quote only for labour and we were struggling to find someone to do it through the internet and yellow pages type websites. But with MyBuilder, we posted the job and a few hours later we had great offers from good tradesmen (100% positive reviews by other clients). We were very happy with the outcome and the price and from now on this will be the first place to look at when we need a builder/specialist!

MyBuilder are the worst 'review' website if you want to get truthful reviews about the traders they charge commissions from for referrals from their site. The business model allows rogue traders who change identities to keep old 5 star ratings from closed businesses and does not remove rogue traders even when they are given documentary evidence of the dodgy activities that led to the trader changing identity. MyBuilder are clearly only set up for one purpose - to retain all the traders they list at all costs to keep their commissions flowing in.

We are a loft conversion company thinking we would give my builder a try. To register and to supposedly test your knowledge they asked 10 questions as to what is involved in the work. The questions were so basic that anyone with even limited knowledge could answer them, not good when you are altering the structure of the property. No vetting no qualification check.
They email leads and you click if interested, if the customer short lists you And probably a few others My Builder charges you. Half the shortlist customers
Had no idea what they really want, others just want to pick your brain. You have no come back regarding the fee you've paid for time wasted leads. Take a tip
Better to spend the money in newspaper adds. At least you vet your own leads. All my builder cares about is getting your money not getting you work

I have used MyBuilder three times for different trades, carpentry, electrical and fitting flooring. Each time the website has helped in planning the work to be undertaken, getting the wording right to help tradespeople decide whether to quote, being able to see profiles of local tradespeople and their feedback before inviting them to quote.

I have felt in charge of the process throughout. My details, apart from postcode, are not shared with the tradespeople until I want them to quote.

Tradespeople on My Builder are also keen to keep their reputation for repeat work and good feedback is therefore important.

The builder was wonderful to work with. Built a solid foundation and that was it. The contractors he hired to sheet rock, paint, put the finish touches that make a house like the cabinets (which were awful) and the trim inside were terrible if you use this builder hire your own contractors. The people at Dalton Floors in Jasper and his tile people were wonderful. Also the heating and air people, plumber and electrician were top notch. Just very disappointed the builder did not check things after the work of the cabinet person, we have a lot of cabinets and from the outside it looks good when you look closer you can see how cheaply it was made without any care or concern with how the inside doors and draws were designed with cheap wood. Loved the builder, wish he chose better qualified finishers. The paint job inside was sloppy and after many attempts still not finished to our standards.

If you want to pay for fake leads which I believe are people in their offices responding and making up jobs then disappearing you will be broke before you even start. £200 for 9 leads 1 spoken to and when I sent him his quote I got no response, SCREAMS SCAM!

My experience is shared along with several other trades persons. The service they offer works like this you pay a fee when you are shortlisted but that does not mean that you are in with a chance to quote for a job. On two occasions I have been shortlisted and could not get the client to agree to meet with me. I asked for a refund from my builder and was refused twice. It now makes me think that there are bogus clients out there that do not exist very similar to dating sites loads of photos of people who are not members and are not available my advice is be very suspicious of My builder and certainly don, t expect a refund.

I have used My Builder 3 times up to now & have just posted another job. I like that you can read reviews of the tradespeople first it just makes me feel more comfortable before inviting someone I don't know in to my home.

Used My Builder recently relying on their professional recommendations with vetted professional tradesmen was found not to be true.The experience received from My builder after sending a complaint with their recommended Builder was appalling no feed to answer complaint has been received to justify the builders non professional skill and honesty to full fill quoted work in a trust worthy manor. After finding out other customers have also been effected with the same builder am surprised this builder is still recommended to gain further work.
