I have used mybuilder loads of times, having renovated a couple of houses in recent years. I love being able to read the feedback left by previous customers in order to help with choosing the right person. For a big job, I would advise still asking to see examples of work undertaken. Overall, the vast majority of the trades people I have selected have been great, producing high quality work at reasonable prices. Most of them have been very personable too. I heartily recommend this approach to finding the right person for the job. Sometimes no word of mouth recommendation is available, and I have found mybuilder to be more reliable anyway, as people often recommend friends rather than the best person for the job. Especially fellow trades people rather than customers!

I have used Mybuilder members for jobs both inside and outside of the house. I can say without hesitation the response to my requests has been amazing. Each trade provided an accurate assessment of requirements and completed the jobs in good time, good order and with the utmost professionalism. Prices given are fair and reasonable. The organisation can be recommended to all walks of life. I will always use in future

I have used my builder a few times to find different services, the first time was for a damp course, which in the end i did not need, but for the chap that came out to quote, i may have ended up paying for it when i did not need it, he said i only needed pointing done. Second time was for someone to cap gas fire, he was brilliant, then last week i was looking for a plasterer, but none were available on this site, so used a different service that also looks for genuine tradesmen.

Does not remove rogue traders even when they are given documentary

Identity. MyBuilder are clearly only set up for one purpose - to retain
All the traders they list at all costs to keep their commissions flowing

The my builder service is ok.It appears that there are not many tradesman who want to do a days work. Totally different work ethic up here moved from the south.The tradesman turn up there here you are hard pressed to even get them to ring. Yet another tradesman has let us down.Its crazy having to pay extra for our old tradesman to travel 90 miles to Telford to get our jobs done.

Had a bathroom fitter carry out a re fit of my bathroom, finishing was terrible, told him I was devastated with the work. He came back and put some things right. On his profile he says says he always prides himself in achieving perfection for all my customers. That's a joke! He also claims he belongs to uk trades federation, this is not true. I am considering legal action. I have asked him to return for a second time as still very unhappy and upset by his work. He refused and said his work was acceptable. It certainly is not acceptable. I have had 2 opinions by other Bathroom Fitters for which I have paid for their written opinions, interesting reading.

Recently I have had the need of several tradesman while refitting my bathroom and getting my shower up and running.
I needed the services of a Plaster, a Tiler and finally a Plumber.
This where, while browsing on-line, I came across MyBuilder.
I could not believe how simple finding a local tradesman could be. You enter your own details, address post code etc, post your job requirements on the site along with who you need, Plaster on this occasion, and within seconds you get a list of that type of tradesman on a drop down list, usually the nearest to you first. Amazing. You then choose up to five Tradesmen to select and then wait for them to contact you via the site with quotes. Through MyBuilder I got a Plaster, a Tiler and finally a Plumber. So easy with all the trade guys doing first rate jobs at really keen prices. So glad I found them and wont use any other site for future work.
