Scam! They will send these emails of 'interested" people that would "like" you or want to email you. As soon as you sign up. POOF! No more email, likes. You may get a "wink" once you click on the profile. Is n longer there.
Some real people but lost of fake..
My user experience w/Match was back in 2015 and it was good but I did not manage to go further than a few chat sessions. Did not meet anyone in person or anything like that but I can see it happen if you hang in there. After all, I'd give it an good but would most likely stick with Mingle2day and Tinder in da future.
Mostly inactive profiles and little responses. Read receipts and being able to tell if someone is a subscriber is behind the pay wall. Amazing when the subscription expires likes roll in. Had better luck in person.
I quit this site months ago but my profile is still up and match keeps sending me emails about winks, favorites and emails sent to me, etc. but to answer any of these I would have to sign up again. Now I understand why some of the listings I responded to when I was a member were never read. The people were no longer members and were really phantoms.
On the plus side and hence the 2 stars I did meet a wonder mate, 6 months and going
Why do Match continue to pester me with emails saying I have been viewed when I am no longer on the site. This is false advertising and makes me wonder if, when I was a member, how many false profiles were on then. In fact I had an argument with someone about their having finished on Match when Match said they had looked at my profile, indicating they were still on Match. Very poor service and site management
Hi
Match is an antiquated dating site that is deceitful with it's 'auto renewal' default and also in 'Matching' potential partners. There are much better sites out there that are more responsive to client needs, and I suggest avoiding Match.com
Don't be fooled. I signed up for a one month membership knowing that for twice the price I could have 6 months because I only wanted a one month trial. What they don't tell you is that ALL memberships automatically renew. There is no box to check an no recurrent billing statement just their policy. Guess what, they won't refund your payment! Don't let them scam you!
What a horrible site, they didn't listen to my preferences nobody interesting all old man it is terrible don't even waste your money! It made me more depressed! And I'm a beautiful woman that's fit an interesting, horrible, horrible experience
Don't waste your time or money on this site. Way to many fake accounts. Tried to get my money back a week after I joined since I had seen 10 fake accounts in the first
Week. I get messages from men who know the right words to say to a women
And then goes to say they don't get on match that much so email me at my
Personal email if you don't response or say something wrong they hide the profile
I have seen the same picture for 5 didn't accounts. Will stick with pof at least
That's free
I am not going to go into detail, but long story short. You might find someone, but odds are you wont. There are fake profiles and you have to pay extra just to guarantee someone can email you back. Your either a member or your not, when did it get more complicated than that. Big issue if you do not cancel your auto renewal your not getting your money back so enjoy another however many months you payed of useless service. They are just out for your money and nothing else. They want to charge you for everything. I have another month that I have apparently paid for so I am using my last month to basically say the same thing here... They suck and will take your money that's it.
My account was hack on a Saturday password change and email change... Had to wait till Monday to be able to cancel my account because their office hours are Monday to Friday only. Trying to imagine what two full days with no control does. Must have lost credibility with everyone I was in contact with. I had to shut down everything because there's no sense of reinstating an account that's been hack. I ask for a full refund for my trouble which many other companies would do and they didn't accept it. This company will do nothing for you if your account gets hack. I recommend Zoosk... you'll get more people looking at your profile... Don't bother with Match, you learn really quickly what they stand for when your account gets hack. The receptionist also told me that this was an issue that was common. Not a secure site, avoid it, avoid it, avoid it. Mark my words, had more success with Zoosk anyway.
Its a useful site but the number of fake profiles is ridiculous and annoying. My profile was hijacked and it took days to recover. They don't seem to care. If you have Firefox as a browser you can't even communicate with Match via email unless you change your browser, in other words they want to load you up with cookies. Once you deactivate your account they leave your profile up and then every time someone hits your page they send you a note saying someone is trying to contact you, you better sign back up. Its annoying.
For me, Match has been a BAD experience. I believe Match fails to take proper care of its members. I feel as though I have been dismissed by most of the customer care representatives. Plus, I have had numerous encounters with sketchy guys that, in my opinion, have not been adequately screened. Unfortunately for me I am stuck with this subscription for an entire year because I inadvertently opened two accounts. Match blocked me for using one account. I emailed them and got no response. I called and asked them to refund the one they blocked me from using but they refused. I am so angry! I even sent the CEO a letter regarding this matter and I have yet to hear back.
Whatever you do, don't do match.com. It's a huge waste of money and time.
Bait n switch! Out 120.00!
Selected the one month 35.99 option. The price showed in the right upper box and i entered my card info. The site charged me 120.00 for six month service and ALL the extra services! I called less than 24 hours later, got a rude lady over seas and told me she could not give any refund what so ever. This site is no longer in the us but farmed over seas. You will not get a refund and they will switch your selected one month membership to their default 6 month and you will get no where calling them. And ive been a member of this site off and on for NINE years. I no longer trust this company
I Joined Match, com for three months last winter. About 80% of the profiles I contacted were old, long- abandoned profiles. Only about 20% of profiles in my age group were real. After three months I realized that Match had nothing to offer me. I checked and double-checked with them by phone to make sure my credit card would not be charged for another three months. It was not. That's the only good thing I have to say about Match. My advice is not to waste your money.
Do not attend any of the Match Mixers. They are a scam, over priced and never give refunds once they get your money.
I am so angry at the misrepresentation and have written to Match three times only to be told they never give refunds.
Also, I am not impressed with the contact. The pictures are of handsome men that look younger than their years but all either live long distance or to not follow through with a meeting.
This site truly is a rip off!
I should have just set my $108.00 on fire! What a joke. Don't waist your money. They do get rid of scammers quickly. The dating pool is small. Also anything you get with your premium subscription is just ONE a month. I'll never get my money back from these cons!
I am a woman over 40, okay looking, 3 reasonably nice pictures, professional - horrified that Match.com don't IP ban some of the most dishonest profiles of all time - I am too scared to even try the site again. Guys saying they want a friend, partner, someone they can relate to etc - lots of nice emails then bam - come over to my home or I can come to yours I don't waste my time dating. It's just very upsetting when using a dating site.
I was matched with people out of area age wise and ethnicity that I asked for plus when I cancelled my subscription I told them to take down my profile and photos
I keep getting emails from them saying these are our matches for you and people are looking at your profile and photos. What after you sent me an an email that you took my profile and photos down. That is what I call false advertising no wonder I never heard back from some of people I messaged they are no longer members. Their customer support stinks and is very robotic they do not look into any issues you have with this dating site. They could not match up a cigarette to a match if they tried
Their computer matching system needs to be revamped
They are scammers... BEWARE.
They create fake profiles to make it seem as if you had more likes ( shown below) you can tell because you can't access them. And there place towards the bottom ( because they don't expect anyone to delete their likes like I did). Second, they don't tell you that even if your a paid subscriber, those who doesn't have a paid subscription still can't see your message, even if you pay for free email another paid options they offer. So, your stuck with a paid prescription. With fake profiles and non paid members... they just use you to allure more paid members... FAKE... they're Scammers
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
