The company faces significant challenges in customer satisfaction and service reliability, as numerous reviews highlight issues such as unexpected charges, poor communication, and inadequate customer support. Many customers express frustration over billing discrepancies and difficulties in reaching live assistance, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. While some drivers receive praise for their service, the overall sentiment indicates a growing dissatisfaction with the app's functionality and the company's handling of complaints. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and address billing transparency.

When he arrived temperature in car was very high, only ventilation was working. When he was driving in Gunn Hwy I asked him turn on conditioner but He didn'tunderstand English! And he suddenly stopped! It was dangerous for me and my daughter! How they hiring people who don't know English? When I did request to get my money back they told me that I'll get it back but I didn't get anything!
I am a long time user and I am very disappointed in Lyft! They charged an extra charge for "damage" for having some mud on your feet, which I don't think is justified on a day where it rained and the driver knows that the pick up is in a park, in addition to being late to pick us up and missing the train. The fine was almost the double than the ride fee. If they will be this exigent with the clients, please also be so with the drivers. Please be consistent. For an extra charge you lost 4 customers. Very bad experience in Toronto, Canada.
Scheduled pick up. No driver. Almost missed plane. Never never never use Lyft again. No way to contact.
This is the worst rideshare company in the world they overcharged their customers and underpaid their drivers. And the way they treat their drivers this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The drivers need to go on strike for one month and the company will go bankrupt.
I have been using Lyft for years. However I am no longer going to use this company and I find that they don't give a damn about their riders. On July 1st I took a lift home from Tempe Arizona and it was my birthday weekend however I fell ill at my birthday celebration and needed to come home. Long story short I left my birthday cards in the Lyft and I have been trying since July 2nd to have my stuff returned. I understand there is a lost and found policy however these were things given to me as birthday gifts. The driver was supposedly contacted twice and he stated that he returned my gifts and I was not charged a fee for his Drive. That was a complete lie he knows it, and I know it. He made out with $110 worth of Lottery scratchers cash and a gift card. I sent over 32 correspondents to Lyft going back and forth in reference to that just asking them to please make it right, and even credit me on rides and it was the same song and dance that they gave in reference to their policy and contacting the driver. I will never use Lyft again, and I will solely use Uber. I hope that driver felt great about himself because it's not the money aspect but the birthday cards and what those cards said in them but hey he got what he got and he lied so screw Lyft!
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! First time Lyft user. Seeking ride from White Plains Airport, NY to northern NJ - 35 miles. Price was $30 lower than Uber. Lyft took 5 minutes to assign driver who cancelled the trip several minutes later. Several minutes later another driver accepted the assignment and cancelled the assigned trip. This happened 12 more times and continued for 1hr,40 minutes until I cancelled and chose Uber. Took Uber about 5 minutes to show up with no problem. Nice Uber ride and driver. Absolutely no comparison. No way to contact Lyft and inquire why all the cancellations. If the driver doesn't want to drive out of state why were they given the trip to accomplish. NEVER EVER WILL I ATTEMPT TO USE LYFT AGAIN. 0 points of satisfaction.
The company seems to think it's okay to rip off its own drivers. As a driver myself I was always curious about how my compensation compared to lift itself. Come to find out I was only receiving 35 to 40% of payment from the customer and Lyft was collecting more than half when I'm paying for my own gas I also pay for a daily car wash I pay my own insurance I make car payments I'm the one risking having a stranger in my vehicle I'm also risking getting sick or one of my children getting sick from them being in my vehicle. I'm not sure how lift comes to the conclusion that they deserve a higher percentage of my pay than me. The last straw was when I was compensated $41 for a trip that was 47 miles there 51 miles back. I'm done
Will never be using Lyft again. Had a driver accuse my friend and I of damage that we did not do. He was rude to us the whole way as well. Lyft customer service was of no help and my friend and I were forced to pay an extra $80 on top of our ride fee. Safe to say I will be using Uber from now on.
Scam scam scam, would never recommend, their cars are nasty, broken, some smell bad, they won't give the money you provide back. It's a big scam
What is going on with Uber and Lyft's background check company, Checkr?
I worked for Lyft a few years ago and of course, didn't have a problem passing a background check. Drove for about a year, then started working elsewhere and lapsed. Re-applied in May for Lyft and my mind is blown away by the delay with their 3rd party background check company, Checkr.
Lyft can't (won't) tell me anything useful other than I have address all questions through Checkr (they seem to be a bot company that can't offer any useful customer service communication). Finally decided to just wait on Checkr's time frame for my background to be completed (which is scheduled for tomorrow).
Fast forward to 2 hours ago, and I receive an email that "...your background check has an updated completion date of July 27-Aug 1."
In no universe should a background check take this long...when I originally worked for them, my background check came back in 24 hours and after uploading all of my documents...I was working within 48 hours. What is really going on?
I am seeing other posters commenting on the need to take this to the media, threaten law suits, etc. But I just wanted an opportunity to earn some much needed revenue while I am in between work gigs. What a disappointment!
They don't provide enough rides for drivers and don't care for them aswell I wouldn't recommend them! Uber helps with customer service and gives plenty of rides and gives quest for drivers to earn bonuses! Lyft needs to do better to improve or help with customer service support for questions for their employees that's representing them aswell!
Grabbed a Lyft to run to the Tiverton Casino. $18.63. Fair enough. Couple of hours later, requested a Lyft. Lyft quoted 23. I booked it. When ride was complete I got a msg asking if I wanted to leave my driver a tip. I was surprised to see Lyft charged me 53.+ for the ride quoted at 23. I tried getting in touch with anybody at Lyft...GOOD LUCK! Finally sent an in app msg to Support explaining the overcharge and requesting an adjustment. Canned response from Lyft - "as stated in our TOS there are no refunds FOR ANY REASON. I attempted contact several more times and the same canned response. I went to BBB where I explained issue. Lyft responded with the exact same canned response. I now realize that if my fair quote is $10, and Lyft accidentally charges me $1000, there are no refunds for any reason. What a freaking loser company. I exclusively use Uber now. Lyft is traveling down a bad road.
Hoe $#*! people KEEP sending me Toyotas like they are the only cars that drive with this company. It's real shifty and if a company of people will collaborate to $#*! with you wrong after REPEATED requests to stop then they dont deserve my money. Do better!
It was a Typical Rainy Day in South Florida on July 3 and was overcharged because of Rain! I saw pulling on my driveway and told him please come closer obviously he did not do that. He saw my sister with a cane and did not got closer either I told him you should got closer because know we are getting wet and because of that he decide to charge $20.00 totally unfair. Very disappointed with Lyft because I was overcharged $20.00 because of the rain seriously….I been a customer since 2016
Never mind. I have researched the add on fees and they appear to be included in the advertised price
Why is it every time I call for a lift? I get f***? If you don't know where the f*** you're going with a GPS, STOP $#*!IN DRIVING! I'm not trying to sound racist with this next statement, But if you don't know where the f*** y** at or where the f*** y** going, Stop driving mother$#*!ing lift!
App asks for backup payment. Entered and it takes cards. Added bank account. Fine done. Go to book a ride asks for backup payment method again and again and again. Fed up took Uber. Works every time with Uber. Lyft app broken. No problems with Lyft until this week. Lyft customer service pathetic!
They promised a $350 for the first 160 rides but they never give it to you. They invented a lot of excuses to not give u the bonus. Do not work for them the $350 it's just a scam
I booked a ride from my work to my home. The distance to my job from my home is only 15 to 16 minutes driving. I get off late at night and there's absolutely no traffic on the road. Tonight the driver pick me up and took a route that I've never seen before to my house. We went through dark neighborhoods which made absolutely no sense because he completely disregarded the highway which is right by my job. If he would have taken the highway I would have been home in 15 minutes or less. But because Lyft obviously does this on purpose to make more money on the rides! The driver pick me up at 12:23 a.m. I didn't make it home until almost 1:00 a.m. the route May absolutely no sense. This is the 4th or fifth time that Lyft has done this. I also had an incident last week and was picked up from my home and heading to work. There was an accident on the highway but the driver saw the traffic backed up on the highway well before we approached the exit. He still got on the highway and he could have taken the service road next to the highway which didn't have any backed up traffic. I was an hour and a half late for work. I was charged double the ride amount because the driver decided that he wanted to take the highway which was backed up and he saw this. I disputed the extra charge and they refunded me but Lyft turned around and debited my account later for the charge that I was refunded. These people have screwed me over for the last time. They make the drivers go routes that are longer just so they can try to get more money. I will be getting a lawyer because I noticed that the reviews are horrible. They do this all the time and on top of that they have no customer support. That's a big eye opener! How can you approve a refund and then turn around and still debit my account. I'm not going to stand for it and my lawyer will be in contact with the company. Tonight it took me double the time to get home that it normally does and there was absolutely no traffic and no reason for the driver to be going the way that he did. It's obvious that they're milking money out of people. You should be ashamed of yourself and I would not be using your service anymore.
I ordered Lyft for a ride that was 39 miles, the cost $62. I waited outside, ride never came, check my phone and it says I'm in car. I attempt to contact Lyft and order an Uber as I am now late for work(pediatric homecare nurse). 5 minutes into Uber ride I get a text and email from Lyft stating they are charging me $180 for cleaning fees on a car, I never stepped foot in. Argued back n forth for 4 hrs, finally stating that the cameras at my home clearly show me waiting, driver never showing and Uber pulling up 17 minutes later. Took 4 days but they refunded my money. I woke up this morning and $360 was taken from my account! Lyft customer service sucks! My lawyer contacted them and faxed a cease and desest letter as well as a formal warning of my pending lawsuit.
Answer: They randomly out of the blue deactivated my account. This was there explanation. We found your account to be violating our Terms of Service and you will no longer be able to use the Lyft platform. I can honestly I have not violated anything so clearly there is something wrong with there information but the worst thing is they dont even tell you what the problem is. Oh well guess take my business to uber instead.
Answer: Lft runs different promotions and depending on promotion they promise a signup bonus(500-1100$). Now if they really pay the bonus it's totally up to their discretion.in my case they didn't pay. I completed the 60 Rides required in the first 30 days, which was the requirment to qualify for the bonus but they still didn't pay. After a brief email exchange with a lyft employee(they do not give their position or full name) they stopped answering. Now I am filing a complain with BBB and I will let you know where it goes when I have updates.
Answer: Lyft's customer service is terrible. If they won't correct it, file a dispute with your credit card company.
