The company faces significant challenges in customer satisfaction and service reliability, as numerous reviews highlight issues such as unexpected charges, poor communication, and inadequate customer support. Many customers express frustration over billing discrepancies and difficulties in reaching live assistance, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. While some drivers receive praise for their service, the overall sentiment indicates a growing dissatisfaction with the app's functionality and the company's handling of complaints. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and address billing transparency.

So I have been getting rides with Lyft for 6 years now. Most of the time I haven't had an issue but the past year I have been aced in more danger than ever before and Lyft couldn't care less. I've been on vehicles that have started going down the wrong side of the road numerous times where it could never be confused. Nevermind the one that tried to go on a roundabout the completely wrong direction. I've smacked my head numerous times due to the drivers speeding and hitting speed bumps way too hard and yet all the customer service ever says is here have 5 dollars credit but your health doesn't mean $#*!. You could have your arm chopped off and they'll tell you too bad here's $5. It's not our fault, our company says we can't do anything else. I can't in any good confidence recommend them to anyone ever again. Too bad though cuz some drivers are good but then again it's always the bad ones that the company doesn't care about that drags them down.
LYFT CUSTOMER SERVICE SYSTEMS ARE TERRIBLE, they do not even deserve 1 star. A driver refused to wait a couple of minutes, which left us stranded in the cold and the wind, after dark. Lyft charged me and will not refund the charge. Their customer service options are totally deficient! I now have an unusable credit when I need a refund. They take your money inappropriately and then refuse to give it back = provide a refund. DO NOT USE LYFT, THEY RUN A TERRIBLE OPERATION and HAVE TOTALLY INCOMPETENT COMPUTERIZED SUPPORT. They provide no redress for terrible driver behavior.
Both services periodically suffer from faulty mapping systems where the pickup location is incorrectly identified even after the correct location is shown on the app initially. This happens more often with designated hotel pickup locations, like in Las Vegas. I noticed that many drivers use their own cell phones with Google maps precisely for this reason. When this problem does occur, it is extremely frustrating for the passenger, especially since often the drivers cannot be contacted by phone or text. In my experience the problem does occur more often with Uber
I purchased a $50 digital gift card for my son. He never received it. After a week of no response from multiple emails to the company, I accepted the reality that I had been robbed by Lyft.
DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE I was charged 102 dollars for a 37 dollar ride out of there app and don't know why I will never use lyft again inwould rather walk or buy a skate board instead of dealing with crooks I have the proof of what my ride was going to cost and I was in a camry not a luxury vehicle they screwed me big time use Uber
If you are visiting Miami beach area, please be careful of Lyft con drivers. They will scam you and extort extra $ from you by lying and reporting against you to Lyft management and to their help/support team.
On 12/18/21, I had 4 mins ride in a Lyft car. I was all dressed up to go to a wedding event. The car was clean from inside. Lyft driver charged me $80 for damages and submitted some fake pictures of his car damages.
I am a senior citizen, went to Miami beach for the 1st time to attend a wedding, didn't eat or drink anything in the car. How can I damage the car in a 4 min ride.
Lyft management and support team are not taking any action. They just blindly going by the fake pictures submitted by the Lyft driver.
No wonder, Lyft app doesn't give cash method payment option and forces to link debit/credit card, so that, Lyft can have a control over these unscrupulous charges. Imagine $80 for 4 min ride.
Will never take Lyft again, shame on you.
Drivers are idiots who leave when I'm standing there waiting and then charged me a no show fee! When called again, and they were 3 min away, they canceled my ride. FU Lyft. You're useless and I'll only use Uber from now on.
Never a problem.
I uninstalled LYFT because I hate trolls that email me EVERY Fukin day with emails I cant put in SPAM. I don't use companies that troll me. Capital One found that out after I asked them over and over and over to stop. I tore up thier card and sent it to them. They finally replied and stoped emailing me but to late. I don't want to use them any more now so I don't get trolled. Hopefully some one in LYFT will see this and see people don't want thier daily emails. UBER don't troll and gets my business
You would think that Lyft would be on top of their game! But that's not the case app issue like inadequate locations that stops you from logging in for 3 hours and no driver support to fix the problem
I booked my ride and I didn't look at my address and had to change it and they charged me 50 dollars for the ride if I had a car I would tell them $#*! you but I can't now I think the app is good but all they want is more of your money and I think they over charge for the rides and I can't wait to get a car
Avoid these racist scumbags at all costs! Their drivers profile people based on their photographs as I found out the hard way when I had booked a ride six times with six cancellations! It took me almost 2 hours to get home as a result for should have been just a 15 minutes car ride. And then they had the nerve to overcharge, with of course no one you can call on the phone and truly horrible customer service. I'm also currently suing these duplicitous scumbags for that racial discrimination back in October!
It's impossible to get real customer service - maybe that's the day and age we live in? It's just maddening as a consumer - If you have expectations, you're made to feel guilty because "it's a pandemic." Yes, it is. AND I still have expectations that companies are ethical and do what they say they will. Lyft more than doubled the rate for my most recent ride from the time I pulled it up and pressed "confirm." Additionally, the maps ALWAYS take the driver some willy nilly round about way and I always end up having to walk at least a half a block home. And don't even get me started on the air fresheners in the cars. I'd rather ride in a car that smelled like teenage boys than these damn air fresheners. I had to shower as soon as I got home and the stench is STILL in my nose. It makes me ill. There should be a way to filter those cars out for those of us with allergy and respiratory issues. It's DISGUSTING.
LYFT is a racial profiling company. My FIRST ride was $18 round trip with tip(LuxRide). My driver was nice, and informative. But every since I made my profile like he suggested I can't get a ride under $40. Wow! I wonder how LYFT will reply. I never trusted this mode of transportation. Now I see why. Only in INDIANA. I've used this service with friends in DENVER and received better treatment.
I got a new phone and new number and for 5 days I have been trying to recover my Lyft account. Today they finally changed my phone number but a different name that is not me. For 5 days I have gone thru hell with something that should have taken 5 minutes on the phone with a human. They should be ashamed of themselves and after this week of hell I am going to delete the my account and never use them again.
Driver cancelled with no explanation or communication. 3rd time this has happened. And the last. Bu bye…
Don't get full guys what Lyft advertised about making a lots money it is all false, there is not flexibility when for earn some money you need to work when they want, and I been driving for Lyft for few years now and believe me the only moment that I made the money they state was on holiday time by working at list 14 hours per day per hours and thanks to bonuses and tips, but in a regular day you are lucky if can take home 10$ per hour at the net, beside the fact you will true away your car after one year not matter if your car was almost brand new, because so many miles you will drive many of that unpaid because you don't get pay for reaching the pickup point, and many time for reach the pick up point is more distance than how much you need to drive for the paid ride so no sense at all and if you think to cancel that ride because your are believe is to far because to many miles drive for the money you will make for the ride than your acceptance rating will decrease and so you will lose bonuses and more, so what flexibility they are talking about, there is not at all, costumer service the worse ever so plan in advance there is no assistance with any issue, no benefits and what ever your are going no one accept Lyft as income so LYFT=NO FUTURE
They track me when I go to work so they increase price that I pay $60 for day and I just change jobs and it's close to where I live at first it was $8.98 and now it's $28 this is ridiculous.
I wish I could give negative stars. Yesterday, Nov 2nd I called a Lyft to pick me up at the airport. Bob arrived at 9:57am. He did not get out of the car to assist with the luggage, but instead popped the trunk so I could put my luggage in the trunk myself. He dropped me off at 10:20am CST at ******* Hillcrest and did not pop the trunk for me to get the luggage. In fact, he drove off! I attempted to stop him. I immediately went on the website and called the ghost number provided. I called him 3 times and sent him 3 messages (the maximum communication attempts allowed). No reply! I contacted Lyft for support and continue to receive the same templated "lost item" messages. This is not a jacket left in a back seat. This is an entire suitcase with over $3k of contents. Lyft repeatedly refused to provide me with any assistance. I contact the Dallas police department to report the theft. There is currently an open felony theft case and STILL Lyft will not as much as attempt to reach the driver. I cannot for the life of me understand the refusal to assist in even the smallest way.
Sorry, but if your truly trying to make money this
Isn't the company for you. I literally spent 9 hours driving my own car today. I picked up a total of 17 people and I was only given $154.62. I had to fill up my car two times so take home money was $100 instead of $154.62. ALSO WHEN YOU GET CLIENTS YOUR NOT ABLE TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE GOING OR POSSIBLY HOW MUCH YOUR MAKING. You have to take whatever they give you. AND OF ALL THE 17 PPL I PICKED UP TODAY ONLY 5 OF THEM GAVE A TIP.
I guess ppl think my gas and wear and tear on my car is free? The only people who make money is Lyft, not the drivers.
Answer: They randomly out of the blue deactivated my account. This was there explanation. We found your account to be violating our Terms of Service and you will no longer be able to use the Lyft platform. I can honestly I have not violated anything so clearly there is something wrong with there information but the worst thing is they dont even tell you what the problem is. Oh well guess take my business to uber instead.
Answer: Lft runs different promotions and depending on promotion they promise a signup bonus(500-1100$). Now if they really pay the bonus it's totally up to their discretion.in my case they didn't pay. I completed the 60 Rides required in the first 30 days, which was the requirment to qualify for the bonus but they still didn't pay. After a brief email exchange with a lyft employee(they do not give their position or full name) they stopped answering. Now I am filing a complain with BBB and I will let you know where it goes when I have updates.
Answer: Lyft's customer service is terrible. If they won't correct it, file a dispute with your credit card company.
