They are one of the most over-priced and over- inflated store I have ever seen. I have compared the quality of their products and they are no better than the average department store-and probably worse.
Bean clothes just suit my personality and style. The quality is always great and the fit is good. I like classic clothes like flannel shirts that never go out of style. The Bean clothes last for years.
Found a bathing suit on website but didn't have my size so the website found the suit in my size at a retail store in another part of the country... called them and they honored online price and shipped free. THIS is how a retailer with an online site should be managed! Take note boo to Anthropologie - thumbs down and to other store retailers with online sites - LL Bean has a very successful business model.
L. L. Bean is my favorite online retailer for quality clothing, outdoor gear, and luggage. Their quality is top-notch, and their customer service is the best in the nation. Nothing but a A++ for this reputable and dependable retailer.
I've purchased from LL Bean for 40 years and I'm no longer going to buy from them. Used to be that you could exchange shoes at LLB within a year but today I was refused as my house slippers worn inside for less than a year look TOO worn. So the product wears out fast and you can't exchange it. Goodbye LL Bean.
I order two gifts from LL Bean from a catalog which stated on the front "Order by December 21, get it by Christmas Eve, guaranteed. I ordered on 12/18/16. By 12/25/16, the package had not come. I called them and was told "we don't guarantee you will get it, only that it will get to your city" (!). I explained my son was in from out of the country and I could not mail it to him after he left. I was offered a $25 gift card and was offered to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said there was nothing she could do and offered me a $10 gift card, $15 less than the previous offer. I canceled the order and did not take the gift card. Please be aware that LL Bean does not stand behind it" "guarantees" and don't assume anything they represent is true.
The company was established in Main and has been operating since 1912. Gradually opened retail stores in the North-East US, Virginia and Illinois. The online store and the service are excellent. Many online shop catalogs divided by subject.
Specialized in outdoor and casual apparel. Hunting hiking and fishing gear, outdoor furniture.
I sent a winter shell back three times to have them fix the zipper and all they did was put a new pull on it and send it back then when I questioned why the zipper hadn't been replaced this time after the third visit, they told me they did not have a machine that could replace the new zippers on their coats so I was out of luck, so I talk to customer service and they told me that there was nothing they could do about it so I asked for a supervisor and the supervisor basically told me that it's my problem now yes L.L. Bean has gone the way of every other place for customer service for product
We were sold two bicycles saying that if anything happened we could easily get maintenance on them or could return them. In reality, you can't return them and they can't fix them. Don't buy anything from them!
Product has issues with soles becoming detached I have seen other reviews with the same problem. Company never addresses the problem.
Sent review to Company never posted.
I wish there was a no star option for this company i cant believe is still running after everyone i have talked to that has had a similar problem. L. L. Bean is the BIGGEST joke. I HIGHLY suggest not ordering from them! Debited my account 3 times and i ordered back in june and still have NO PRODUCTS. I Told them to cancel my order and of course then they decide to ship ONE of my products that just "happened" to come off backorder after i said to cancel! I am having the hardest time getting my money back! I have now spoke to 2 supervisors and 3 employees, both of which supervisors said opposite things. Their employees are not on the same page and production is absolutely horrible and unprofessional. I am absolutely disgusted with missing $514 out of my account now THREE times and cant get my money back. What a scam!
Never had a bad experience with L. L. Bean and have always been more than satisfied with their products... Still have some of my NOW GROWN children's backpacks with their initials and they're all still usable!
I ordered 2 pr of tartan pyjamas and was told I could pay in Canadian dollars, so I did. It has now been 19 days that I am waiting to recieve this order although LL Bean has taken the full amount out of my Visa. I have called 3 times to try to trace the order. Three times I have been told they are trying to find the order. The third agent told me that she would ship to me out of Maine and cancel the Canadian order since it takes longer in Canada. Then I had a call asking again for my Visa and I refused as I have already paid over $200 and recieved nothing but promises that do not pane out. This the worst service ever.
I have been a loyal L. L. Bean credit card customer for more than a decade. It has been my only card and I use it for everything. The transition from Barclay to Citi has been a disaster. The communication is Terrible. Citi has suspended my card three times I three weekend for routine charges ($13 on Uber) and does not tell me. In addition parts of Citis customer service office do not work On weekends. The transition lost all my on line statements. I lost about $50 of coupons because my card was suspended for no reason. Sadly I am looking for another card.
LL Bean should offer Free Shipping Always like they used to because they are so slow to process orders. I'm a long time customer- 30+ years- and Bean used to be one of the fastest shippers around. I can remember complaining to Amazon.com a couple of years ago that they were slower than Bean! Orvis gets my orders processed and shipped same day if I order by 2pm. Bean's products aren't all ' that' - definitely not worth the wait- which will further deter anyone from tolerating their snail mail shipping service.
LLBean has good quality clothing and prices. There is frequent sale pricing that is great. I love the free shipping and discount cards that come with your order for use on your next time shopping order. I also love the accessories for winter outdoor activities and camping. Great site for duffle bags/luggage that you can have monogrammed. The Christmas Season has great gifts for all ages. Suggestions for stocking stuffers. LL Bean has clothing specific for the winter season: jeans lined in fleece or flannel, jackets/coats made for snow and low temp, camping needs for all seasons. LL Bean is worth checking the web site out.
I was mid way through my purchase of this top, when I was accosted in the store by another customer. A man threatened to stomp on my child, while the ENTIRE staff at the checkout looked on and said nothing (backstory, my 4 year old son tripped and stepped on his foot). After being threatened by another customer and having all employees look away, I promptly left without the purchase. The woman at my checkout whispering "sorry". I have called and been passed around to 4 customer service reps - and all they can say is "we will review the tapes at some point". Not one person has offered to help me place the order, not one offer to facilitate shipping me the backordered item (since I will never step foot in that store again). The WORST experience, the WORST customer service. They should be ashamed of how they handled that situation and they are handling the incident.
I ordered a pair of hiking boots in March; the boots didn't arrive until May. The boots weren't backordered; LL Bean customer service just kept telling me their warehouses were being reorganized, hence the delay. I asked in April if I could cancel the order, and LL Bean said they were unable to cancel it. I am now having similar problems with a current order; I am being given the same reason as to why the order is delayed. Warehouse issues. Right.
I have been a LL Bean customer for over 20 years, BUT this latest order will be my last order with them. REI, here I come.
LLBean was once a great store. When they had their lifetime guarantee on all products, the merchandise was so well made that it was rare to have to return products and initiate the guarantee. Evidently many people took advantage of that so the store changed their policy. It seems, though, that since now they eliminated or changed their warranty/guarantee policy and are not obligated to stand by their products, the quality of their products has sunk.
I had a pair of walking shoes that lasted 5 or 6 years. I bought a new pair and they wore and tore in the back of the shoe within months. The wearing pattern (meaning how often I would wear them and for how long I would walk) was the same. To exchange them, I would have had to mail the shoe back and have them determine if they would replace it. A picture would not do. Nor would they ship a new pair with my credit card as a hold until they got the other pair back. Maybe they are still a valid option if you live near them, but if not, they are a poor choice to do business with.
I have been an LLBean customer for my family for about 35 years. I've noticed over the last several years the quality has not been up to their old standards. Purchased a 850 Down men's jacket about 3 to 4 years ago. The outer shell ripped when I called customer service they said put tape on it as it could not be repaired. My wife wouldn't go out with me as she said it looked ridiculous. I bought a second one in fall of 1999 for $175 to 200. Noticed the chest pocket was now smaller as iphones fell out of it all the time unless you always zippered it.( save fabric material and save money. Again the shell developed holes or rips. Called customer service and again they told me to put tape on it and actually recommended a tape brand, fabric cannot be repaired. Here is picture.
Answer: Nope. But I have heard the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band's Gorilla album and it's my fav.
Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
