I purchased a coupon for a massage thru LivingSocial May, 2012 with an expiration date of 2/13/13. I called the service provider the week prior to the expiration. I was told she wasn't taking anymore appts for that coupon but was extending it (for a month thru Mar and then thru April) and would put me on a waiting list. 3 months later she has never called me with an opening. I called her a number of times but she would never book me out into the future. I sent the details to Living Social but they will not refund my money even after providing me a letter where they had told the owner she should honor the promotional value.
Much better customer service from Groupon, SuperDeal, AmazonLocal and PoshBirmingham. I will not do busines with Living Social again. $35 down the drain.
I was told by the living social rep that I could not use a voucher for a dslr workshop after it expired, but I contacted them directly and was signed up for their next class using the expired voucher number. I'm fortunate that I don't rely on the information given out but their customer reps.
Worst customer service EVER! Bought a coupon to a 3rd party merchant for an electronic product. LivingSocial charged against credit card, and 3rd party sent defective product. Contacted 3rd party via phone number listed on their website, and number was "temporarily unavailable". Emailed 3rd party, but (surprise, surpise!) never responded. LivingSocial flatly refused to provide refund for a defective product. Basically, they take your money, then directs you to their "partner", and you're SOL if their "partner" doesn't deliver. Had to dispute through credit card to get a refund. STAY AWAY -- I've heard other people having the similar poor experience. Groupon is 10x better -- they get the concept of "customer service"!
The advertised "deal" was not any deal at all. I cancelled as soon as their website let me get through and the transaction had not happened yet. They used an expired credit card. And now they won't give me my money back or a credit at all!
They are HORRIBLE to deal with.
Bait and switch. I bought two living socials and one was for window cleaning the company went out of business and I finally got a refund from living social--a nightmare and a half to get my $29. Then I have a carpet cleaning, I move the furniture, no show, so I clean them myself--I don't know about you but I wasn't doing the furniture moving again. I finally get a hold of someone--not my issue I had to call 3 or 4 numbers. The cleaners say their equipment broke they can not clean anyone for several weeks. I ask Living Social for a refund, no dice they say they will be back up and running soon and I can get my carpets cleaned then. Well I doubt if any of what the vendor is saying is true, because they lied and told living social they tried to contact me--not once and I have voice mail. So frustrated awful vendors. Avoid all business with living social.
Livingsocial does not even deserve one star! This company is a scam. The vendors they deal with do not honor the vouchers that consumers purchased! The vendors run the customers around with "no appointment time", "come back later", "call back later", or no replies... full B.Sh@t! Livingsocial is not of help at all when their vendors cheated. Instead, Livingsocial must be a part of that cheat scam too because now it turned off its phone line, and all complaints by emails got replied by a fake "Justin" customer service rep! FTC needs to take some action to stop this Livingsocial from cheating more vulnerable customers out there who could not afford high cost but ended up being cheated out their hard earned money too! This Livingsocial.com company deserves to go bankrupt!
I've purchased 3 deals through Living Social. First 2 were great, the last was for Execyacht and they never returned my phone calls or emails so that I could schedule the deal. Living Social won't give a refund even though the vendor is a scam artist. Their customer service reps are friendly and polite, but they can not help you. Terrible refund policy--- you will have no recourse if the vendor is bad. I will never use Living Social again.
I typically have had good experience with living social deals and the companies living social sells for, however, in the past 6 months I have had two deals that the company in question did not honor the deal and living social refused to refund the deal. If I am unable to get anyone from the business to answer the phone, return a phone call, can't leave a message because the voice mail is often full, online scheduling for the business is turned off, living social phone customer support is suspended due to high call volume and I have been attempting to redeem my voucher for 4 months with the business with no contact from them whatsoever, how does this not qualify for a refund? Living social phone support is suspended due to high volume - what does that say about the problems and number of calls they are receiving. I am thoroughly disappointed in living social and considering calling an attorney for a class action law suit.
Good prices on entertainment ideas - we just did a painting & wine class for half price - what fun!
I was trying to attend an event that livingsocial had tickets for. Two types, VIP package and regular. My friends bought the regular package and when I went to the site I was unable to. Thinking they had sold out but still wanting to go I had to buy the VIP tickets. The next day the cheaper tickets were available and I was unable exchange or return the expensive tickets. That's just bad business and I will be sure to tell EVERY SINGLE PERSON who arrives tomorrow what a horrible JOKE this site is.
I have never had a bad experience with them and have used them for a bed and breakfast two times and for about 2 dozen vouchers.
Just read what you are getting and be sure you want it. I did have to get the credit back one time because I did not use the voucher and it was easy enough.
Great way to save money or find stuff in your area that is unique and fun.
I bought this crystal bracelets from them through crystalgemjewlery. I paid $38 for 2 including shipping. I never received them. I was given an email to contact the vendor. The vendor never replied and livingsocial will not refund me or take any blame for it. Shame on them. What a scam. I am unsubscribing.
I bought use at a nearby gym that made it next to impossible to redeem my voucher. Either their customer service person, Benjamin is really that stupid, or it's a tactic to be too difficult to have resolution and people give up. I figure it's an annoying cost, but one I paid not to ever do business with them again. Since the majority of people rank them a one, I say listen to the masses.
Living social is HUGE scam. My wife bought a guided fishing trip for me. Nice present right? Turns out to be a nightmare. I grab a buddy, take a precious day off work, buy a license. The guide calls me on the drive to the lake and can't go cause he's sick. It happens. Except now he won't return my communications to reschedule. And now Living Social won't give a refund. They basically stole $150 from us. (I gave them my money and didn't get what was promised.) Don't EVER use these guys. Tell everyone to avoid them
Living Social deal site is about to go bankrupt so I would avoid them at all costs they are going under. Unsurprising really with their poor customer service! And poor reviews!
I purchased a weekend for this coming summer. A couple of days later they contacted me to say that they had no further spaces either July or August and offered a voucher for Easter 2014. I then tried to cancel this order but there has be no reply to my emails
I purchased a housecleaning service for the city I live in. I read all the fine print. When I went to book my appointment, the housecleaning company said they didn't do my area of the city. Living social will not give me a refund. They will not even give me a voucher for another deal! I had no idea that Living Social is so badly run. I will tell my friends to never use them.
I purchased sky diving tickets for 2 people ($422) through them back last 2012 Dec, and found out there is no such company. It was a scam. Their customer service was terrible. You would think they would call and apologize repeatedly and try and fix the problem asap right? Instead nobody contacted me, nobody responded to my claims, and one day (after I called my own credit card company to dispute the charges), they just deleted the "voucher" off of my account and gave me my money back (probably because of the dispute through the bank). Several months later I thought I'd give them another chance when I saw they had a deal for a "sumo wresting show- with sushi and hot sake" and I made the purchase. Well, this time, I hired a nanny and took my husband out on a surprise date night and guess what? After commuting to the show in traffic for 60 min. We found out at the venue that the show had been cancelled!?! Nobody had called to let us know:(
Livingsocial is a joke! It is a pity because they have some good deals on it, but what good is it if they are a waist of time and money. I am forgiving to mistakes, but what they lack is a good customer service on top of it.
Answer: I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. A total nightmare. They take your money don't send the goods and they don't answer e mails
Answer: There do seem to have been some financial problems with many of the deals from Living Social. But when I had a problem they answered the phone and it was dealt with quickly and the goods resent.
Answer: Have you contacted the customer service at Livingsocial.com? I have found them to be pretty responsive in the past. This is a seperate review site.
LivingSocial is a leading "daily deal" site that sells discounted experiences and local services--restaurants, spa trips, home services, travel, etc.--via voucher. The consumer must pay for the voucher upfront, and the voucher generally must be used within a specified time period or it cannot be redeemed. To make these deals possible, LivingSocial sells merchants on its ability to help "find and keep more customers". LivingSocial is a private company based in Washington DC and its shareholders include Amazon.com.
