My experience with LiveCareer was excellent. They made it easy for me to create a crisp and professional-looking resume. I continued into the paid subscription so I could utilize some of the additional benefits. I felt more confident going on interviews after having my resume updated and re-worked. Within two weeks, I found a good job and called to cancel my subscription. Customer service was great and discontinued my paid membership right-away with no problems. My resume is still on the site and I can use their basic services for free anytime I want to! So worth it!
I had the pleasure of chatting with Maria as she assisted me in cancelling my subscription. She was quite persistent in offering an extended premium service for $4.95 as a safe guard incase my current career plans fell through. I unfortunately declined, but she was very pleasant and courteous the entire time. I will definitely revisit LiveCareer because of her customer service!

Biggest scam going, same deal as everybody else paid$2.95 for resume templates for two weeks, then had $37.05 stolen from my a/c just spoke to my bank and I have to shut my a/c to fully protect myself from them. Same deal not working left me with 48 cents. Do not use this site they are thieves,

I believed that i cancelled this subscription months ago to then discover they are taking money from my card every month. It appears that i got the same response as everyone else which was we apologise but NO you cannot have a refund. When the adviser no longer wanted to discuss it, i was cut off. I am disgusted!

I signed up to create one cover letter last February. I thought the service was free, or at most a few dollars... to make ONE cover letter. I just today realized that this site has taken $40 from me each month for the past 11 months... (I have a lot of payments coming in and out of this account all the time so it was easy to miss). $440 later and I had NO idea that I had signed up for a monthly service, I never would have agreed to pay $40 per month for a service that I needed only one time. Total scam, do not use this website unless you want to lose some of your hard-earned cash like I did. I also did not receive any receipts or email reminders (maybe they went straight to junk mail?) or anything like that. I had one email from when I first signed up, telling me about my "free" account.

I got a nice template for a cover letter and paid only 1.95, but to do so, I had to first subscribe to their free trial which is free for the first 14 days. Then they charge you 19.95! I called to cancel and got my money back. I told them that a payment reminder would have been good. They said they sent one, but I don't remember seeing it. I'm giving this website 4 stars for the cover letter, but I'll give them just one star if I could for the deceptive billing system they have.

That was 3 days ago, sent another email still no reply. The only everyone seems to get a reply is by posting a review here! Word of advice to anyone who is considering using them, don't touch them!

Same thing as the others. You sign up for the $1.95 and they charge you $40 a month. I also noticed on their live chat I didn't mention the reason why I was cancelling but they had an automated response that they DID in fact tell you in the fine print that they would be charging you monthly. That points to the fact that this company lives off the couple of charges they get from customers before that customer notices and cancels. Horrible business practice that should be illegal

Needed to find the info for my account (for my daughter's resume) after some time of not logging onto the site. Used Live Chat and Gustavo was my contact. It took several minutes - close to 30 for him to hunt down and locate my information because I only had very basic info available. I didn't even have the correct email address. He was very pleasant, diligent, and helpful throughout the process. And he found it and got me into my account with just a few questions and answers from me. :)

I am so tired of people and their hidden fees, just make it known to consumers up front without any hidden clauses, fees, etc. Just a waist of time. You can see that you don't even get a sum or total until the very end of building your resume.

I wish there was an option for less than 1 star for this company.
When you sign up, they tell you it's a monthly fee of $19.95 which I was ok with as I am actually in need of constant resume updating for both my boyfriend and I. What they don't tell you is that even if you choose to not get the extra Resume Review product, an additional $19.95 charge, that they still charge you for it. I called and emailed in, as well used their online chat option, and still was not able to get this unauthorized, fraudulent charge refunded. I kept getting told a "Professional Services" department would call or email me within 24-48 hours and still have yet to hear from them. They then cancelled my subscription as a "courtesy" when I actually wanted to keep it. It's incredible that they are able to keep customers when they literally steal your money for services you specifically request to not have and then refuse to contact you back.

Live Career gets you to build a resume on their site then at the point of finalisation advise a payment of $2-95 is needed to download the resume with a monthly subscription of around $35. When you ask them they say its ok we will cancel your subscription so you will only pay the small fee once. Thats all good but then when you download the document it is that formatted you need to be a genius to make any amendments outside their system. They say just use our system to make changes but when you do it never comes out how you expect, then they advised me that they would fix it within 15 minutes, that was about an hour ago and now guess what, the live chat has shut down. What a scam.

SCAM! I am very good about reading the fine print or so I thought and looked at credit card and had 4 months of charges for $34.95. I called them and they then did cancel it, but would not give me back the money from the charges because i didn't' not cancel it! If it says so much for 14 days then that is all you should be charged! Bunch of CRAP!

The GUI version in the resume editor does not fully represent the actual layout in terms of spacing and line breaks. It takes quite a bit of tweaking to make it look good in a PDF. Also, I do not like that I am forced to always put month and year when year would suffice. But those are things I can fix in an intermediate step. Overall, I am happy with this site. :)

I used the service just to produce a CV for my 16 year old daughter and paid the one off fee. Only to discover a monthly payment to be taken out which I did not see coming and can not see an e-mail confirming this.

Answer: This is what the site advertised: For 14 day access, $14.95, and for a year $39.80. However, signing up for ANY service aloows the site to store your payment information for further billing, and getting in touch with them, much less obtaining help is nigh impossible. After two weeks they will pull $39.80 MONTHLY from your payment method (please see my review and others on Google and yelp for further verification of this).

Answer: I had to cancel my Debit Card account with Bank of America, because the Bank refused to block LiveCareer from my account. I wonder if they are in cahoots or what? I believe a class action suit may be required so we can get our funds back.
Answer: Call your bank and change your card number Call them and let them know you have contacted your bank and will contact the better business bureau of you don't get a full refund. Then contact the better bBB and file a formal complaint. You will have a refund within a week. That's how I got my money back
