letgo Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to frequent reports of scams and unresponsive sellers. Users express frustration over the prevalence of non-serious buyers and automated responses that hinder genuine transactions. Concerns about safety and a lack of effective customer support are also prominent, with many customers feeling neglected when issues arise. Although some users have found success in selling through the platform, the overall sentiment leans heavily towards disappointment, suggesting a pressing need for improved oversight and customer service to enhance user experience and trust.

I gave it one star because I was able to sell 1 item on there.
I have posted several items on Letgo and get plenty of responses but 99% of them are at 1:00,2:00, or 3:00 in the morning. Its always the same thing (is it still for sale)
I always put the same postings on Craigs List and always seem to sell my items through them!

I have sold a few things on letgo in the past. However, recently some of the users are just plan creepy. Asking someone to meet in a parking lot at midnight is not something I would ever do but you will get people asking you to meet them to buy it in very sketchy areas. Then when you don't, they never respond again, which is fine by me. Also, most people will just ask if the item is still available and never respond or try to low ball you. I wouldn't say letgo is a scam but its definitely something people need to be careful on. It's kind of like craigslist, only worse.

Tried selling workout equipment super cheap, then a month later giving it away, and there were five different interests and none of them came by to get the workout equipment. Waste of time. Goodwill takes the equipment. I will just give it to them. It takes up 100 sq ft of space in our tiny rental.

Terrible. Avoid.
March 27, 2018

If I could give this site 0 stars I would. I wanted to delete my account and I have to write an email telling letgo why I want to leave, like you cant be serious. Im not a child let me delete my account. As far as the people using letgo Im pretty sure theyre all delusional I was selling a pair of ugg slippers great condition little wear and a few buyers wanted me to sell them the uggs for 30 dollars. Its honestly such a terrible app. I wanted to give this a try because I wasnt having any luck on Depop but it turned out to be a terrible experience.

This is the worst website I have ever used while looking to purchase an item!
If you enter a phrase any and every item will pop up as an option when most of them aren't relevant to what you are intending on purchasing.

Example: Dog House

ALL decorations, artwork, dog collars, furniture, dogs, T. V. s, gates, cages, coffee makers etc. (anything to do with a house or dog) will come up in your search when all you want to purchase is simply a dog house!
VERY FRUSTRATING! Will NEVER Use AGAIN..

Let Go is alright. I think the majority of the frustration stems from doing things on the buyers terms and believing peoples BS. There is a lot of BS in the world and people who seem to get off on it. So in order to "quick to dead the bull like a matador" the rules I follow to avoid frustration as a seller:

Rule 1: Always make the buyer come to you and on your terms. Using Craigslist I would say 8/10 buyers do indeed buy. If someone isn't serious enough to drive across town to meet you, then they aren't serious to buy and will low ball you because they think you're desperate. Remember, you go to the store, the store doesn't come to you. I stick to a 3 mile radius around my house and only meet across town if it's at my convenience. I almost always have people meet at the front of my street which is pretty busy and public.

Rule 2: Never believe the tomorrow or get on it the weekend people. They aren't serious if they aren't ready to meet today!

Rule 3: Don't hold items for people. The people that say they want it for sure, are most often the ones who never show up.

Rule 4: Don't entertain hagglers. Or sob stories. When the first text is what's the lowest you will take? My response is I am pretty firm on my price. When they have a sad story, don't humor it, they want it for free or pretty close to it. If I am the buyer, I haggle in person. Money talks, BS walks.

Rule 5: Respond back ASAP to all messages. Most buys are whim buys.

I get a lot of people who are who interested, but live 20-30 miles away and don't have transportation. They ask me to come to them. No way, my big chevy truck gets 7-9 mpg. I'll spend all of my profit on gas. Then, there's the type of people that say they'll meet you somewhere but never show or respond to me again. Waste of time!

She has a major attitude. Feels that everything she has priced is exactly what you should pay. If you attempt to negotiate, she becomes irate and tells you the items are already priced at a fair priced. Tells you she will meet you halfway from Noblesville in the City of Pendleton. Either she already lives in Pendleton or her parents live there and she REALLY LIVES THERE. She then goes home and berates you in a review all the while lying and reports your account and even though she has only sold to 2 people. She lies and reports to the LETGO site and they automatically delete your account without verifying whether what she says is true or not. WE HAD 34 GREAT REVIEWS AND A 5 STAR RATING. ALL SHE HAD TO DO WAS REPORT A BUNCH OF LIES AND OUR ACCOUNT WAS DELETED. BEFORE YOU GET DELETED, SHE HAS HER FRIEND MESSAGE AND SET APPOINTMENTS THEN THEY ARE NO SHOWS. CRAZY B&^$TCH

My Letgo Experience
March 8, 2018

Letgo should Explain What it means and what to do when someone favors your listings. Other than that it is easy to use and I have been successful in posting and selling some items. As for security in the end you have to meet we a potential buyer.

Posted great items -- people will reply, negotiate and then promise to show up and you will never hear from them again or you will be blocked? What type of a waste of time in the world lol -- really frustrating and I thought CL was bad (CL is a walk in the park compared to the buyers on here) at least they show up!

Scams
March 6, 2018

I had something to sell and the buyers wanted me to meet them in a very high crime neighborhood. I asked them to meet me in a public place and they said they were new in town. BUT then they suggested another place... I sat there with my son, mom and sister. I think they had other intentions. We were supposed to meet at 6pm... and at 620 I texted them and no response... even though the read it. Not wasting my time again. AND yes folks dont need to favor my things... they are brand new things. Either you want to buy them or just leave the folks alone. This is not FACEBOOK.

Wonderful concept, unfortunately people are a-holes that like to waste time, cause drama and are cheap as heck. Will continue to use it until ebay becomes seller friendly again.
