Kentbooks has been my go-to for renting books for law school since my first year! The prices are affordable compared to other sites and I have always received books in good condition. However, sad to say that this experience was not as great. The casebook I received was in bad condition. I do not place any blame on Kentbooks, but more on the previous owner of the casebook. It's evident that they either did not care to maintain the book or had a major accident where the book endured a lot of damage. My suggestion is that Kentbooks either reduce the money charged for renting the Community Property casebook to other customers in the future, or discontinue renting it out to anyone else.

If you do order from Knetbooks, you can expect free shipping and a wide selection of books. You can also expect to never get your book, and to get really terrible customer service. My book didn't have shipping information for a week after I ordered it and I just had an interaction with the customer service where they were quite snippy, and according to the new tracking number they gave me, my book has not even been shipped as of yet. A week. So I am now terribly behind on getting my work done. Do not waste your time with this company, despite their price and free shipping, they are a disaster as a company and you should look elsewhere for books.
I never received my book. I emailed them about it and they basically said "well our records show it was delivered, so it's on you". They then repeatedly emailed me about when I needed to return my book, even though I never received it. They said that they I would have to buy the book if I did not want to receive late charges. Customer service was rude, and this company is a scam.
I am a week late on returning my rental. I totally forgot and noticed this after my account was charged $200. I called the number listed on my bank statement and spoke with customer service about receiving a refund if I return the book asap. They said they would only refund 50% and to me that is still too much money for me, being a college student without employment. I pleaded with the representative letting him know I did not see any reminders but that didn't change anything. It wasn't until I asked to speak with a supervisor to discuss if there was anyway to get a full refund that things changed. The representative put me on hold for 10 secs and was like we can do 75%. I felt like it was a scam but at least its better than 50%. I wonder if I actually spoke with a supervisor if I could have gotten a full refund. Lesson learned, return your rental on time and if you are late ask to speak to someone willing to help you to get better results. Hope this help someone!
The process of purchasing and searching for items was very easy and went pretty smoothly. The price that I was given on this site was way cheaper than competing sellers and the textbook quality recieved surpassed my expectations. The textbook also arrived within the provided time frame without delays. Would definitely repurchase or rent my books for this website again.
We ordered from them for spring and summer semesters and everything was fine until we tried to order from them for fall. They sent an email saying we never returned books, we replied with the tracking (that they provided) and proved it was delivered. Then they come back and apparently everything was "damaged with a dark colored liquid" and we would have to pay. Thought you didn't have those books? And really? We poured coffee on every book before we returned it? Obviously this place will eventually scam you, people should look elsewhere and not give business to them.
Wish I would've read these reviews before I rented from them. I had the same problem being charged 100% new book price the minute my book was late with NO REMINDER EMAILS until they sent the late one and had already charged me. Then when you return the book(within a specified time) they give you only 50% back. What a rip off! They get the book and the money! No satisfaction from customer service. I will never give them business again.
As the title of the review says, it was an easy and quick rental. Knetbooks had my title when no one else did, and it came to me quickly and in excellent condition.
I was very nervous to order from this site after reading the reviews, especially when I didn't receive the email that my order shipped until the next evening, but my book came in 2 days even though it said 4-8! It was the exact book I ordered and I saved almost $30 bucks by ordering from this site rather than Chegg or Amazon.
They ignore customer service requests completely, nothing comes back, it's awful. Plus I just got charged for a book they told me to throw away because it was so scribbled in I could not use it. Told me to throw it away, then forgot and charged me! I am in a state of disbelief and no one is contacting me back to make it right. Stay away is my advice.
This is a terrible rental company for books. Don't rent with them! I rented a new textbook and returned it in great condition and they still charged me almost $300 for the textbook. I did not damage it and customer service was unhelpful. It took a few weeks for them to receive the return after I returned it and it was damaged during the return. As a struggling student you should not be responsible for damages sustained during transit that you did not commit. They have a policy where you have to report any damage within 30 days after you receive the book, but this is impossible to do if the damage the book sustained happens AFTER you send it to back to the company.
To make matters worse, Knetbooks still charges you another fee to send the book back to you if you want to keep it. Cannot stress this enough, take your money elsewhere! They don't have a customer service phone line either.
I ordered a book from this site. Originally said it would be here Jan 18. Now its not coming until March 2. I need the book for a class which will be over by the time I get it. The customer service would not let me cancel. They said I could send the book back once I get it. If I do!
I have rented from them several times, and up until recent I had no problems; however I recently returned a rental, only to find out later than I erroneously sent them the wrong book back (lab book instead of actual book, easy mistake.) They notified me by email of the mistake, and advised I would need to pay $10 to have the book returned to me. I contacted them to do so, and mentioned that they charged my card to purchase the book ($298). The agent said that i can still return the book and be credited or refunded. I attempted to do so, but the return shipping document would not appear in the website. When I called them back to advise, a different agent now is advising me that I cannot return because I purchased it. Not very happy with the service or outcome. Don't think I will rent from them again except to use my other credit.
Came when expected and was exactly what I needed. Also helped the price of books because they were cheaper
I found the Applied Physics (11th edition) textbook available for rent at a fraction of what other vendors were charging and I immediately completed my transaction. I received the book in about three business days and in decent condition(minimal wear and tear). I will definitely continue using Knetbooks in the future.
It was a fast arrival! Here before I knew it but at first, it was weird cause they gave me a tracking number but never was in the system until 2 days later. After those 2 days, I got a tracking number and another update. From there on out, I got messages of more updates. Then my package came in

I ordered my book on a Monday and received it by Friday. The book was in excellent condition, and the directions for returning the book were easy to follow. I especiallly appreciate receiving a confirmation when they receive my return; most companies do not take this extra step.

Update- After many unanswered emails I was able to get someone to reply to my cancellation request through Knetbooks' Facebook page. My order was finally canceled and the money was refunded.
My class already started and my textbook has not arrived. I asked for a status update and asked for a refund. Neither have been addressed. I just want my money back since I had to buy it elsewhere. Don't buy from them!
Text was in good shape and arrived in a timely manner. Cannot blame Knetbooks but the UPS shipping schedule showed a Thursday delivery date but that was to the USPS transfer facility rather than here. Plenty of time tho since classes don't start for a while.

Placed order-3weeks later told my order was cancelled. Reordered same book based on the website info. Waiting for second order info. Received info cancelling an order I didn't place. Very confusing! If book originally ordered twice doesn't exist, why list on the website?
So far, so good. Will walt for the book I purchased to arrive.
Answer: Infinity, because you will never receive it. And if you do receive it, it comes damaged and then when you try to return your rental that try saying the original damage is your fault and charge you a ridiculous price for a small damage that had already come with it. Or sometimes several pages are missing.
Answer: Hi Tatum, We do allow some highlighting in our rentals but we ask that you dont highlight excessively. If you return the rental back to us with over one-third of the text highlighted, we may have to mark the book as damaged. Highlighting can be distracting for future renters and we may not be able to add an overly-highlighted book back into our inventory. Consider using page flags to mark an important sentence. Flags can help you easily get back to the page you need. Page flags are also small enough that they can be used multiple times on the same page. Plus, they are really easy to remove from the textbook before you send it back at the end of the semester. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
