I ordered a textbook from Knetbooks. My first order was cancelled and I was informed that there was a problem with my payment and my credit card could not be charged. I only later discovered that I was, in fact, charged in full for the order and I am still waiting on my money to be returned. Meanwhile, I was encouraged to order the item again. I placed the second order. Paid for expedited shipping (7-10 days). After several follow-up emails, I learned that my order was cancelled again, this time due to unavailability of the item and I was told I was refunded in full. I was not. As of right now, I received $10 in-store credit (which I suppose is a return of the expedited shipping fee and it is not what I wanted; I am unlikely to use it since I will not be ordering anything else from the store.), and my order shows still in pending status. No idea if, when, and how much will I ever receive back from the online store. A total failure.
I had no idea there was such a thing as "renting" a textbook. Thank goodness it showed up when I was searching for the textbook I needed. I am now "renting" the book for $10 instead of purchasing a $40 textbook I will never open again after this class.
Book arrived sealed & looks brand new.
I had the option to choose how long I would like to rent it for & may extend that date if need be.
The book that I rented came in poor condition as it was ripped up around the binding and bent at the top half. I believe that the packaging could be improved so the shipping and handling process won't obscure the quality of the book (the book definitely appeared to be new aside from these external damages). The overall website was easy to navigate (pretty user-friendly), and the payment process was relatively efficient.
I rented a college book from Knetbooks in September. In October I received an email that the textbook was due soon even though the semester wasn't done yet. I texted 2 numbers that were sent to me via text... nothing was answered. I called at least 2 phone numbers that were given... nothing. I emailed and received a default email back. They charged me for the entire book (160$) and just this week got an email that says, in essence, you're stuck with the book. I will NEVER use Knetbooks again!
Simply did not want to spend a fortune buying a new AC LS study guide, but needed to find a book that I could use to study for the test at the end the four hour course. This is my first time taking ACLS.
Plan on returning as soon as I finish the class/test! So great that you can just rent the book for a much cheaper rate!
Yes, I do. I have been charged over 500 because my books where late. I have never dealt with a company that does this. Most of the time they charge you a late fee which is the price of a 30 day rental. Yes, I should of extended my rental, but to charge that much is ridiculous. They completely drained my bank account and to top it all off they books are setting in their warehouse.
I have an online class and am provided with an e-copy of the book but I like having a hard copy to review, since it is not a book that I need in future classes renting is much less costly and efficient
The book is a rental but it's heavily marked with notes from the previous owner. Shipping from the site was super fast and the book binding and pages are in good condition. I'll have to provide my own packaging to ship back.
Hi Bobbie! We have notated your account of the heavy markings in the book. We do provide a prepaid UPS return shipping label for all rentals. Please visit our help desk to find more information on rental returns. Thank you for choosing Knetbooks!
Great quality book and there were no markings or stains. I can use this again!
I ordered a used book thinking that, "hey, it's just used it might just have some writing in it and a chip or two." The book was literally falling apart. There was a huge tear in the spine of the book that caused a lot of the middle sections to nearly slide out. It's pretty much almost ruined, and I'll be incredibly upset if they expect me to pay to replace this book if what little of its life expires while with me.
The book I'm renting costs around $60 to $80 or even more when purchased new. This site allowed me to rent it for a few weeks for only $13! I received it in about a week, and I'm so glad I didn't have to buy it new.
The service is quick and easy to use and always a great value for renting textbooks.
I bought two books and it only costed me like 60 bucks. Well I am now three weeks into college and my package tracking only says that shipping labels have been created but no item has been given. So for the past three weeks my books haven't even been sent out, now leaving me struggling with my college assignments because I don't have my textbooks. I was given an estimate that my books would be here at the latest on the 21st and they still haven't even been shipped. I was emailed a delivery confirmation on the 17th. I emailed the company with no reply still. I wouldn't recommend for students who receive their syllabus and need their textbooks quickly or even at all for that matter.
It's very good and very simple, I love how the website is set up.
I rented and bought my law textbooks from here and all of them came in quick, just in time for class.
Shipped quickly. Book in good condition and for a good price. Highly recommend
I rented books from Knetbooks before with no problem. But now with my recent order, I returned a book in February and now April 1,20 they claiming that the book was damage! No way.
I am very suspicious and disappointed with their customer service.
Was very happy it came on time, and was well
Packaged.
I ordered Portales Spanish Book with access codes for $118.00 from Knetbooks because it had a better discount than any company. However, it did not come with the access code. When I called the company, They said it was not guaranteed. They should have said that on the website before I ordered it. No, help or reimbursement or nothing. Now I have to pay the full price at the college bookstore which doesn't include the lost money from Knetbooks.

Hello Mike,
I’m sorry your recent delivery did not include all the supplemental items you expected to receive. Due to the nature of many supplements, these items are typically only valid for a one time use and therefore not included with any rental or used purchase. Unfortunately, copyright issues prevent us from removing supplemental information from the product title listing. In an effort to set proper expectations, we do post several disclaimers on the website, including below the item’s photo on the item description page. Regardless, we understand there was some confusion and we’d like to assist in resolving this situation as quickly as possible. We’ve sent you an email outlining possible resolutions to the address we have on file. We hope you’ll find this email addresses the issue in full.
Our most sincere apologies,
Kate
It was good overall. My only frustration was that my debit card was denied as it has an expiration date for 11/21. I had to use someone else's card to place my order and then pay them back. A little inconvenient.
Answer: Infinity, because you will never receive it. And if you do receive it, it comes damaged and then when you try to return your rental that try saying the original damage is your fault and charge you a ridiculous price for a small damage that had already come with it. Or sometimes several pages are missing.
Answer: Hi Tatum, We do allow some highlighting in our rentals but we ask that you dont highlight excessively. If you return the rental back to us with over one-third of the text highlighted, we may have to mark the book as damaged. Highlighting can be distracting for future renters and we may not be able to add an overly-highlighted book back into our inventory. Consider using page flags to mark an important sentence. Flags can help you easily get back to the page you need. Page flags are also small enough that they can be used multiple times on the same page. Plus, they are really easy to remove from the textbook before you send it back at the end of the semester. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
Hi Katie, we apologize your received an item that was damaged during transit. We have notated your account so you will not be held responsible for the damages. If you need any further assistance, please visit our help desk at https://www.knetbooks.com/help-desk. Thank you for choosing Knetbooks!
