While I have not ordered any Frogs from Josh's Frogs... I have ordered supplies and feeders from them. Each them that I ordered the "stuff" can quickly and was exactly as described. I have ordered Spider feeders from Josh's and they came packaged very well... even included a heat pack in one of the feeder orders, when the tamps were coldish. I have sent emails and asked questions... the responses were always the same day and very thorough. I want to start keeping Red-eyed frogs... Josh's learning videos are great! This is an excellent company... I will be doing business with them again.
Was told on website would get my order in 2 days was like fine I got enough till last time then we'll now it's day 3 and now says on tracking package will be here 4 to 5 days so not kool first time ordering from here and will be my late will not recommend ever will take my business to Fluckers
I ordered 5 frogs off a sale they ran the first week of true winter. It took 2 months to find weather acceptable for shipping. When a day with acceptable weather came around their shipping department missed it by a day and shipped the frogs into a snowstorm in Denver. It was pickup at Fedex and I had to drive 80 miles over icy roads to retrieve them. On top of that they failed to include one species, 2 frogs in the box ($70).
It's been a week and I have only received one voicemail assuring me my order would ship on the seventh day, well lo and behold it is the seventh day and it hasn't shipped, nobody will call me or email me back and I'm pretty sure with the weekend then labor day coming up I won't have received my order and my fruit flies have probably been sitting in the packaging department for 7 days, apparently once the order is in packaging it can't be cancelled according to their website? Nobody will answer me back and this is a nightmare. I would have never chosen them with this timing issue if I had guessed it would be this disappointing. Almost a hundred dollar order I'm afraid will be wasted and I can't afford it.
It's the top to Go live cricket company and other bugs. I get crickets twice a month. All the crickets are usually alive. Never fatalities. I do have terrible experience when it comes to the delivery day assigned and when it comes to paying a 2 day express $17 delivery and it's not delivered express. I should of just got the regular delivery, bo biggie, live and learn. Other than that, I tried 4 other difrent companies, this is the top 3 for me, being my number 1.
I ordered 50c Black Soldier Fly Larvae & literally received 2 alive & 9 dead, equaling 11 in total. This is so disappointing since they still haven't responded back to my email complaint—I have a blue belly hatchling that needs very small feeders, so the fact we had to wait 3 days & all she got was 1 larvae in her is more than frustrating! How does 11 equate to 50 AT ALL. Sent in the tiniest cup/and packed in July—ITS MID AUGUST. Not sure where I'll be able to find such small feeders again, really had high hope just to be EXTREMELY disappointed.
The dishonesty and general lack of customer service seem to be running rampant in the industry. I'm ready to sell my collection and be done since it's become impossible to get quality supplies at good prices.
Fruit flies: arrived dead, and I was told to wait for them to hatch. Left the cultures for weeks in a warm area and saw 0.
Crickets: died after 12 hours in the tub. I had water and food sources added immediately when unpacked, and they were temp controlled.
Dubia: came in not only dead but dried dead. Fairly sure I was sent dead roaches since I paid for overnight shipping.
I've been a herper for 20+ years and have used many, many different feeders and probably have as much feeder knowledge as herp knowledge, so the stupidity of the comments from customer service really gets me enraged. I hope they get shut down.
Horrible order! I ordered 1000 housefly larvae and they arrived yesterday in such a small container that a lot of them were hatched out and dead inside the container. The box they sent it in was large enough to use a larger container, not sure what they were trying to save on. I expected some to be hatched out, but if they had been sent in a larger container they would have survived. The order was moist, stunk and unusable from all the dead smashed flies
This WAS the best place to purchase supplies - live feeders & tanks supplies etc...
I have been using them for years but since they have started expanding everything has gone downhill, I thought things would get better once they settled into the new space but things are getting worse - selection and inventory of live feeders are now usually out of stock, packing and shipping are slower than before with incorrect items arriving. Customer service used to be top notch extremely fast n friendly, and would correct the rare problem instantly - that's not the case now. Sent an email about an incorrect shipment, after almost 24 hrs of no response, sent another follow up email, & no response until I then called and sat on hold forever. The rep didn't really seem concerned that my animals could die, I ordered correctly and within the timeframe needed. They shipped wrong item & then tried to make it my problem. Guess they are so big they no longer care. It really is a shame they had great products/prices & customer service before they tried to go BIGGER! Sometimes it's not always better!
Always have a backup plan in place now if you plan to order.
I will not be ordering from Josh's Frogs again. I typically ordered from Flukers or Ghann's, but they were having issues. I decided to take a chance and order from Josh's Frogs. I have an extensive collection and understanding of herps and feeder insects. I have even bred them, but I don't have the time right now, so I have been ordering them. The cultures they sent have 0 surviving flies or maggots. The crickets died within 24 hours (I have water and food sources.) The roaches were the only thing that was in good shape. It was cheaper than I usually pay, but the saying "you get what you pay for" applies here.
One last thing, no offer of a refund, replacement, or even store credit.
First off I paid for 3 day shipping, had to call 10 days later and they said they hadn't shipped. Then they send springtail culture with no springtails in it. They said give it 2 weeks for eggs to hatch. I followed all the instructions. Naturally nothing happened. So they sent a replacement. Same thing. So after a month they finally agreed to 'refund' me, but only $11 of the $66 I spent. What a joke. Clint's reptiles recommended them which is a shame bc it appears they scam a lot of people
Placed an order on Monday morning shipping schedule says if placed by noon order ships same day. You pay extra for shipping I paid for 2 day shipping. Called Tuesday am to make sure order went out Tuesday and was told it will go out on the noon pickup. Called this am wed to find order still hasn't been shipped. Will look for a other distributor as I can't count on joshs frogs to get order out in time and customer service lies.
I just received my blue poisonous dart frog and was very impressed at the packaging and little habitat the frog came in! My frog is very active already and I am very happy! I will definitely order from here again.
They just pulled the same thing on crickets as they did last year on Dubia roaches. You can buy two 500 boxes but not 1000. You pay twice as much this way. When asked about it they state that they are pre packaged. That's not what their site states. So basically you are getting low quality bulk wholesale feeders or they are refusing to fill 1000 quantity orders because they don't make as much money. Bad business.
I used to think this company was alright. Boy was I wrong. March of 21 I ordered three eco terra 18x18x24 enclosures for my crested geckos. Later they came all broken! Shattered in tons of pieces. Didn't even try to package these enclosures in any protection. They threw in some paper and put in the tank. Unreal. They never gave us money or took them back to actually get rid of these huge enclosures. We paid 50 bucks to get rid of them. Later in 21, (December) I ordered a 48 inch uvb bulb for my new tegu. Terrible packaging again! The long box Andes up denting as in, this box was at about a right angle. We open the box and the uvb tube is split in half. Customer service hasn't got back yet. At first, we lost the package and they didn't help at all. We got it finally and still no help. Never again will I order from them and you shouldn't either.
Whoever picks out their 1/8" crickets must be drinking and seeing double or triple! That or the past 10 times I bought from someone else gave me 3000-4000. There is absolutely no way there's 1000 crickets here! None are dead but that's to be expected for paying $23 for overnight shipping! I also got 2000 3/4 and they are a bit smaller and that's ok but it too does not look like when I buy 2000 every 2 weeks for the past 5 years from another supplier. This place is so hit and miss but 70% of the time for me it's a miss for me!
After dealing with some shady business from Back water getting three DOA Frogs in a row I decided to try Joshes frogs they showed up right on time the packaging was excellent they hopped right out and started eating crickets they definitely got my business
I spoke to one person on the phone and to two people over their chat line called "Help" what a joke! They were rude and very short. Not that age should have anything to do with it, but they sounded in their teens and could care less about their job. I am new to the idea of collecting frogs and had plenty of questions about what to order. The website looked good so I thought I could try them for my new hobby. Well, now thanks to the "great" customer service I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I recently ordered a dart frog kit including the tropical plants, terrarium, substrate etc. I specifically paid extra for the order to ship UPS - 2 business day shipping. After getting the plants and substrate on the second day I realized my Terrarium these were ordered with that would house these plants was not there. After checking with Joshs Frogs I realized the Terrarium was shipping Fedex, was shipped seperately and has still not arrived after 4 business days. We are now at the end of the day on a Friday when this was ordered last weekend and I have $300 of plants sitting in a box with no terrarium to plant them in for who knows how long. Not only did I pay extra for specific shipping that was not followed or even on the advertised carrier but now I am potentially out of $300 from dead plants. They used blatant bait and switch tactics on the shipping also and by also stating this was a kit shipping as a single order. I would not have purchased this order knowing all of this now.
Ordered some fly culturing supplies I needed rather promptly. Bulk pricing was $30 less but showed out of stock but they still had single small bags in stock which is the same thing as the bulk media just multiple bags, so I ordered the same amount as in the bulk pack thinking they would easily honor the bulk price. Way wrong. First they couldn't even grasp the concept that the bulk priced item was just multiple smaller bags sold together at a discount. Then to make matters worse what was supposed to arrive in 2 days is now going on 2 weeks undelivered, which they stated was due to flooding? Michigan didn't flood from the hurricane! I had to order from a different company in the meantime while eating $150 from an order that may never arrive. They refuse to refund me until the package comes back to them? The package hasn't moved from Michigan since drop off so... Finally filed a paypal dispute. I will be sending the box right back if it ever arrives and never dealing with them again nor will I recommend them to anyone else. Lost all respect for a company I once loved. Going bigger is definitely not better.
