1st Time Buyer!

I am absolutely impressed at the way I received my 500 crickets1000 mealworms they are wonderful it's crazy they were shipped the end of August I received them on September 5 there was maybe 7-8 crickets that were dead mealworms was great I was totally shocked! I will definitely be ordering again this is my new favorite spot!

Josh's Frogs sent me vivarium plants overnight express; FedEx lost them. Late the 4th day, they finally arrived. They seem to have been repacked, as the outer box was pristine. Inside though, there was dirt everywhere, all over the plants, some of which barely had any dirt on their roots, so they had clearly been tossed around a lot. Yet every single plant was undamaged and healthy!

I have purchased crickets and flies and I am very disappointed of the quality and desire to help customers. I ordered crickets and I fed them the correct way and on the 3rd day they were all dead. Then yesterday i ordered fruit flies for my slings and when I opened the cover the flies were all dead. I called Josh Frogs and customer service told me to forward therm a picture of the flies. Done. Please do not order any live animals or live food from them. Very Disappointed. Not a good company.

I ordered two poison dart frogs one of which was a green spirawalni but received blue dunderbatus. Their costumer service is the only thing good about Josh's frogs.

They chose to send fly larvae in a 103 weather and told us it was our fault, when we did not know what day they would ship out.so we could not anticipate the weather.

I BOUGHT THE WRONG TERRARIUM AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED TO CANCEL. $215 DOLLARS. WELL, IT SHIPPED ANYWAY. NOW I HAVE TO RETURN IT WHICH MAY COST ME UPWARDS OF $100! COMPLETE BS. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON TOLD ME THEY USE A SPREADSHEET TO SEND TO THE WH FOR CANCELLATIONS. I ASKED TO USE THEIR SHIPPING ACCOUNT TO SAVE ME THE COSTS, BUT OF COURSE NOT! I HAVE WRITTEN SEVERAL TIMES TO DEMAND A REFUND NOT A STORE CREDIT. THEY JUST KEEP REPLYING I WILL RECEIVE ONE OR THE OTHER.

WRONG FROGS
August 5, 2021

I received the wrong variation of frogs, and when I emailed regarding this issue, I was told to try and use brighter lights, because then maybe I would be able to see the true color of my frogs. The manager did not help. The supervisor did not help. I spent 2 weeks back and forth talking with the team and no one wanted to admit fault or take responsibility.

I ordered 2 different size crickets, one size was for my baby tree frog and the others were for my juvenile red eyed tree frogs. I received my crickets in the 2 days I paid for shipping, only problem was. They put the 2 quite different sized crickets all together! Not in separate containers! Customer service wanted pictures, which I sent. Then they email me asking if I wanted replacement crickets then I'd have to pay for overnight since the weather where I am was "too hot" for 2 day. I emailed back to just ship when "my weather" allowed for it. I was told, they would ship me new ones, but unfortunately they were out of stock, and they'd issue a refund... not ordering from them again!

The container of springtails they sent me were all dead, I emailed customer service and was denied a refund because "their eggs could still hatch" and was told to wait 2 or so months (only takes ~3 weeks for eggs to hatch) which would put me far outside of their refund policy.

This place use to be a very intimate shop that catered to customers, helped them through issues, and stood by their products. It seems that $$ has taken priority over the customer experience. Recently bought plants and despite having through dialog with many reps over there, once its in your hands, they wash their hands of the transaction. Its sad to see a establishment go from backing their customers, to the bottom dollar. Even after countless emails, conversations, and overly preparing on my side, if the plants die from good or bad advice from them, its your responsibility.
These views are my own, based on my experience with my own purchases with this company. These are my opinions based on my own interactions and transactions with this establishment, as such, they are just that, my own personal opinions.

Josh's Frogs is the first name you hear when you are looking into the live insect/feeder trade. I have an array of amphibians that are constantly in need of crickets/mealworms/fruit flies/etc. I go through about 1000 crickets a week at this point. For the first order I placed with Josh's Frogs, I got exactly what I was looking for. The insects arrived on time, alive, and all seemed well. So, I placed a larger second order that included food, water gel, and more crickets. Well, since there is no sticker/indicator on the box that it contains live insects, my package sat in a FedEx holding facility for 3 days before arriving to me. I got a box of mostly dead crickets. In addition, the water gel had leaked all over due to a flaw in the packaging. It was a mess. Josh's Frogs refunded me for the crickets (nothing over cost, I still was responsible for the shipping charges). I decided to give them one last try the other day. Ordered on a Wednesday, usually 1-2 day turnover until it is shipped per others comments and my own experience. I expected I would have crickets by Saturday/Sunday as only Monday was a holiday. Instead, Friday rolls around and I see my order still isn't being packaged according to their records. I email them and get a response saying my order will be ready to ship by Tuesday. Almost a full week after I ordered! I request to cancel the order because I'm going to need crickets before then and I know a local shop by me sells boxes of 1000, just for a higher price. I am told that they will cancel the order on Saturday. Instead of canceling my order, knowing that I didn't need the product anymore, they shipped it anyway and did not refund me/cancel the order as they said they would. They have a disclaimer that says something to the effect of they may not be able to cancel orders if they have already been packaged/shipped, but apparently that gives them license to just not cancel orders at all. This place has horrible customer service, they are a scam. Do not buy from them. There are other, better, and cheaper alternatives out there. Do not waste your money or time with Josh's Frogs!

I placed an order and paid for FedEx Overnight ($32.92) shipping.
They immediately charged my credit card.
After five days I checked down the order and they said back an excuse of why it didn't ship.
After seven days it still didn't ship but I did receive another generic excuse of why the order didn't ship.

I ordered a male dumpy tree frog, he came overnight as stated. He is perfect, the packaging is great and he seems completely healthy and fine, I've had him for 6 hours now and he's just been chillin, happy to have him! Great company :)

I rescued 200 green tree frogs so I needed food. I found them and ordered. Every order came either all dead or half or better dead. So after EVERY order they did ho or replacement but I had to go and over pay for crickets local. I usually 2 day or faster shipments to make sure they came fast. Nothing mattered they came dead. One attempt took 3 or 4 times before I got them alive. My last order was 60.00 plus and I overnighted... Over 50% still arrived dead. My credit was 25.00 AND I HAD TO GO TO PETSMART AND BUY CRICKETS AGAIN COSTING ME 40.00 SO... DO THE MATH! I QUIT... I was patient but if i am gona throw money away i dont have i would rather burn it then give them any more of my time or money. You decide for yourself.

I've only ordered once and have yet to receive the product I ordered so I can't comment on quality of feeders, but the customer service and shipping speed will prevent me from ordering again. I ordered on Wednesday 3/17. I did read that they ship live feeders Mon-Wed, so I didn't anticipate them being shipped until the following Monday. I was running low on food for our bearded dragon and knew I would not have enough to hold us over until this shipment was delivered so I purchased a pack of crickets and some super worms from petco on Sunday. When Monday came and had gone and I still had not received shipping info, I was a tad annoyed and decided to just cancel and find a verified vendor from a Facebook group I am in. On Tuesday morning, 3/23, I called at 10:37 AM and was sent to a voicemail. I explained I needed the order canceled and left my contact information. I then went and ordered from the approved vendor. By 10:51 AM, I received notification that a shipping label was created from Josh's frogs. At 1:28 pm, I had an email from the approved vendor that the order from the other company had shipped on the same day as purchase. My voicemail was returned by Josh's frogs at 4:45 pm this evening and I was told the order could not be canceled because it loaded the truck at 4:30 pm. Seems that they only get the ball moving when you call to complain, and now I'll have entirely way too much food for the baby bearded dragon and at least a portion of the orders will spoil before consumption which is an insane waste of money.

I have been a customer, and I have spent hundreds of dollars for years on there website! So you would think that they would try to keep a good paying customer. I order a desert plant kit, but when I got my plants it was not even close to what they advertise on there website even though they did say it is a growers choice emailed there help desk and got nowhere with that so I called to speak to a manager or a director the next day the manager called me and just like the help desk they don't care so I told her I would not be buying anymore from Josh's Frogs and she said to me have a nice day can you believe that! That's the manager...

Great customer service and quality products

I am very satisfied with my dart frog kit purchase. The plants that came in the kit are absolutely beautiful, it was like Christmas when I was unwrapping them. Such a great variety and I am very pleased with them. I purchased the kit in January and I live in Wisconsin, I was concerned about the plants getting too cold, but they packaged them perfectly and are doing great. One of the LED light bulbs did not work and when I contacted customer service they worked quickly to get me a new bulb. They also offer great "how to's" for people like me who are interested in frogs but have no idea where to start. Some feedback: The only thing I would've liked to see is detailed instructions on assembling my kit. I watched videos and read about it, but would have loved an "instruction manual" with the kit. Besides that I am Very happy overall and can't wait to get some frogs in my tank! I will be a return customer at Josh's frogs!

I have ordered twice from Josh's Frogs in the past 6 months. The first time (within that period), I ordered gut loaded banded crickets, I ordered 72 count. When I received my crickets, most were dead. I counted about 15-20 that were alive. I took a video, I took pictures and e-mailed them immediately. They responded and sent me a new batch, no cost to me and didn't have to pay for shipping either. I received it right away. It was a healthy batch and 96% were alive. This was great and they responded quickly. I ordered again about a week or so ago, crickets, a long with other dry goods. I paid for expedited shipping due to live animals ordered (the crickets). I received my order right away. Here is where I I had more issues with them. First, I ordered 3 different fake plants, I only recived 2 and was charged for the 3rd one I ordered. Secondly, I ordered 5 mini deli cup squares (lids included as stated on the site), without their lids. Finally, I ordered more gut loaded crickets, again, most were dead. I also ordered some pinheads which arrived just fine (mostly). I took pictures and immediately e-mailed customer service. They refunded for the missing plastic plant and sent me the lids at no cost (no cost for shipping as well). The also currently sending a refund for the mostly dead crickets. I moved the crickets that were left to a separate container with fresh food. They ended up ALL dying the following day. A few days later, I received my lids, but! I received my lids with 5 more containers without lids! So I have 10 mini square deli cups and five without lids. I just have no idea how Josh's Frogs has been screwing up these orders? Are they paying attention? I will no longer be ordering from the. It is too much of a hassle, especially when I need these items ASAP and need to feed. This last experience was disappointing because I really like Josh's Frogs, they have so much at great prices.
