I ordered an item paying over £359 in this tough times a special gift for someone special to date not seen my item or any information regarding delivery the most rubbish firm to buy anything I wish never did any business with this company. Today is 20 th of December shame on you
I have shopped with this store for 60 years, from when we bought dress fabric as youngsters, to helping to furnish our home. Excellent an trustworthy quality. Wonderful help with our new kitchen. But something has happened in the past few years. On the whole the staff are pleasant and cheerful; but on rare occasions you get the odd one out - the one who will contradict you, who will be downright unhelpful. And it does not help that if you want assistance, it is often difficult to find anyone. John Lewis needs to polish up its staff training, put more staff o the floor, maybe have a help and advice desk. Today, due to a) a rude unhelpful assistant in the lingerie department and b) insufficient staff to advise on slow cookers, I finally walked out in disgust. Around £225 of custom went elsewhere.
I would like to say a massive thank you to Ben in the Liverpool store, who went out of his way to help me. I was looking for pink ribbon for my Granddaughter, and needed a certain shade, he helped me look all round the shelves till he found the shade for me. He didn't rush me was very kind and polite nothing was to much trouble for him. It is the best customer service I have had in any store. Please pass my thanks onto Ben
I was ordering a washing machine for my mother and had missed the section on getting her new machine plumbed in and taking the old one away. I immediately phoned customer service, got through straight away - (open till midnight 7 days a week) and they cancelled my order and re-ordered including the plumbing in and taking away service - excellent service - well done!
I contacted customer service and spoke to Shaz?
I had a problem with some expired gift cards. I gave my reasons for not using the cards within the 2 years
Shaz was very helpful and listened to what I had to say and then had to get authorisation from her Manager who agreed to issue replacement cards.
Shaz apologised that replacement would not be sent until 30th December which I was more than happy with. In fact I received replacement card within 3 hours.
Exceptional service.

Disgusting company. Damaged our first £1300 fridge freezer, caused massive inconvenience and cost and then damaged our property delivering second one. Waited ages for investigation only to be told we were lying and to try our insurance. Emailed them over 2 weeks ago and not even a reply. Disgusting behaviour to a loyal customer of years. Must not have any profits left after all the glossy adverts. Shame on you John Lewis
Integrated dishwasher supplied and fitted by John Lewis.
Worked for 2 days then showed up faults. Took 2 weeks for an Bosch engineer to come out.
Discovered that the machine had been badly and potentially dangerously installed. Water in a pipe that has electric wires internal!
Bosch can't come back for another 10 days.
John Lewis don't give a! Just get passed from department to department. All very sympathetic 'but not this department"
Had a awful experience using John lewis. Brought my wife a Dyson hair kit that she has wanted for a long time for her birthday.
Cost £480 and you think your money would be safe as you are buying from them and the delivery is signed for and tracked.
We never received the parcel and on the tracking it said it was delivered at 12.30 even tho me and my wife didn't get home until gone 5 and their was a x in the box.
They didn't leave any calling card to say they tried to make delivery or delivered to a neighbour which I have checked with them.
So basically John lewis have just stolen £480 from me and all they say if you got a issue contact your card provider as its nothing to do with us.
Absolutely disgusting service and if you care about your money I would avoid at all cost
AVOID DODGY CUSTOMER SERVICE NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM AS MUCH PROFITS FROM CUSTOMERS HAVING MADE LOSSES IN RECENT YEARS! Complained to John Lewis' "customer service" as my shoes become broken. Entle in their Customer Service Team claimed, as attached, that as the shoes were purchased over 6 months ago, "we are unable to offer you a refund or a replacement as your item is way out of the 30-day return period. And because your item has no guarantee and was purchased two years ago, it is no longer covered by the Consumer Act."
THIS IS A LIE! See the Consumer Rights Act 2015. See: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/section/24/notes. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 note 141, after 6 months you can claim either a repair, or a partial refund, for faulty goods at the point of purchase.

I have recently ordered a large Samsung Fridge/Freezer through John Lewis costing £519. The Appliance arrived with a dent on the side. Photos sent to JL Technical teams and after sending 5 emails and 3 phone calls they offered £50 refund. I am appalled with the way they have handled this. I went to JL expecting quality product and service and got none. I be careful in future!
I have to say this after so long buying from the Johnlewis brilliant customer service never had issues but today I have to deal with the stubborn no kindness to solve my issue to Swap one my Cloth Linear Too big that's fine but the way she answered is no kind at all.I know they got policy but the way she answered that makes me so sad and disappointed I think her name something Hinde she said can't hear clearly.I have to write this review for the public to know how good this Johnlewis customer used to be but not anymore like this new unprofessional way of treating customer like this please be aware.

Purchased 2 phones which were supposed to come with 6 months disney subscription. Tried to access code but really struggled so went back to JL and told that it was in the offer and would work and to keep trying. Yet again struggled so contacted disney + who eventually said my phones weren't in the offer. Went back to JL Who said they'd escalate it and I'd hear back within 48 hours. A week later still no response so I chased them to be told they've been busy. I used to rate JL but I've had a few issues over the last couple of purchases and to be honest they're pretty rubbish now.
Under no circumstances should you buy your curtains from John Lewis. They were put up very badly, so badly that John Lewis agreed to pay me compensation. Over a month ago, one of the finials (at the end of the curtain pole) snapped. I have emailed them on countless occasions over the past month to get a fitter to come and repair the damage. They have phoned me just once to arrange a visit. I stayed in all morning but no one came and despite numerous emails to the company since, requesting a phone call to arrange another visit, none has been forthcoming.
They keep saying they'll phone me but they never do.
I purchased a rug from John Lewis which was badly damaged after a professional clean. The rug had not come with any cleaning instructions whatsoever. I bought a second rug to replace it with which was misrepresented online as a pale grey - but on delivery it was a garish green. According to the reviews online, I am not the only person to have these experiences. After a great deal of communication resulting in an insulting offer of a £20 gift card to be spent 'in-store' which I refused, John Lewis has decided not to accept any responsibility for its mismanagement of my concerns or of its sub-standard products. This is not the same store I have given over 30 years of custom to - it has no effective customer service any longer and my complaint was so badly handled, my family and I will not be returning to this organization ever again. I feel sad that this once trusted store is now reduced to the status of a warehouse of poor quality goods and no recognition of our concerns.
We WERE really dedicates John Lewis customers... However, never ever again! We have paid over £4000 for a new hardwood floor - and have been left with all sorts of problems... and an appalling after sales service. Don't buy from J Lewis thinking they are a reliable UK company - as they aren't!
Lots of long waits on phone. Been hung up on. I paid £95 for "extroa care" -and it's been four weeks and my machine remains broken. Promises on phone and online to assist but still nothing
Previously I've had a delivery not arrive at all and no explanation ( I ultimately cancelled)
I've spent a fortune at JL over last 25 years but won't be shopping there anymore now. Very sad
I purchased a phone from John Lewis online and it went faulty. John Lewis utterly refused to give me an address to return it for repair. The service is honestly the worst ever I have experienced, the two-year guarantee they offer is pointless. I spoke to their manager "Shaun" who said they have a right not to accept goods back. Avoid John Lewis for anything technical. When I asked for a returns number they refused. Avoid this Company.

Sent Laptop in for repair as mouse pad not working, still 6 months warranty left
Tech department sent email back saying nothing wrong and sending Laptop back.
And mouse pad still not working. 2 weeks without a laptop and come back still with same issue.come on John Lewis you are loosing all your customer's due to your incompetence no wonder you are in the red.
Bought a washing machine from them and it vibrates and moves about, we had the Hotpoint engineer out and before he even looked at the machine he said he was pretty sure he knew what it was, basically they have made the drums bigger and cram so much in they come out of balance which apparently is my fault according to John Lewis.
They weren't interested at all so I have issue court papers against them which will be issued tomorrow so they will have them over the next few working days.
Really poor service but after reading on here it seems to be the norm, such a shame seeing they say they pride themselves on customer service.
