I asked them to host website. They removed website because l didn't pay 10.94.l never received email Now it will cost 2,500 to replace it. This is a very vindictive company.
Watch out once you log into your account. I am learning the hard way one day into my subscription. All those bells and whistles that most hosts include with hosting and actually looks like part of your new account already? Don't click to install unless you want an extra bill! Apps you may see once you log into your hosting account such as the website builder look like they are already yours to use and do not mention a fee, but if you click they WILL charge you! I found out only because the email account included is only for storage and I was calling to cancel. As it is now, the basic email offers no way to create and send an email unless you pay more! Any company who tricks their own customers like that does not deserve to be in business. Oh yeah, I am already getting spam trying to entice me to add even more!
I may be a customer now, but only to keep my domain I am not a happy customer, and definitely not a loyal one! As soon as enough time has passed to move my domain, I am out of there! Keep the change and lose my number!
Buyer beware of the $1 domain price lure. Once you take the bait, you're hooked into a contract that will spring on you all kinds of surprises. This company does not work from a platform of integrity. They cancelled an account of mine one week prior to the domain actually expiring! They would not allow me to access my account, would not provide any explanation as to why, and would not follow up via telephone even though they promised they would. Upon calling the company back and trying to explain the situation, the Ionos representative admitted that the company conducts business in a ridiculous way as she responded with these words: "I can understand your frustration. I know that [Ionos] has a strange way of doing business but there's nothing I can do."
This company was formerly 1 & 1. In an effort to camouflage its terrible reputation, it changed its name to Ionos. Folks, it's the same brand of poison in a different wrapper.
In short, when you see the Ionos name, turn the other way.
Terrible experience and they make you call in to cancel. Not user friendly at all and it seems cheap because the thing you need that is cheap requires a bunch of add ons to be functional and secure.
BAD BUSINESS DO NOT USE - This company thinks its ok to have had issues for over a week with over 130 domains i have registered and hosted through them, that I am now going out of business. They don't see a problem, and I have called over 75 times in 1 week trying to get answers and get things fixed, but they just hang up on you and don't care. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY EVER! If you are with them now, MOVE YOUR ITEMS, this happened after 5 years of loyal service with them. 5 years!
After my experience with Ionos, I can say with certainty that I'd never deal with them again. They managed to deliver an unprofessional and unfriendly experience from the start. First, the contracts they offer are misleading and reflect their low standard of business ethics, for example they will include terms such as "30 day money back guarantee" in emails however they will refuse to honour it stating "the hosting contract that you have ordered does not have 30-days money-back-guarantee", why include that in the footer of the conformation emails then? However, the other main issue with Ionos is it's lack of customer support for the southern hemisphere, If you have an urgent problem with the hosting provider, you will need to wait until their customer service team wake up before you can get help, Their preferred method of contact is by phone which is useless if you are outside the small list of countries with their call centres in. It is for these reasons I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your hosting provider. Check out Bluehost a much better service and 24/7 support, definitely worth extra!
Same old story as everyone else is reporting. You try to let the domains expire and they charge you anyway, and then send the bill to a collection agency. One additional thing I noticed is that they KEEP your original registration (as evidenced by the start date) and keep renewing it, but then substitute their own contact info in the domain records. This effectively "hijacks" the domain names and they never get released for renewal elsewhere. They have done this 2 years running for a whole batch of names I wanted to let go of. Customer service is horrible with long waits and many pass-offs. AVOID 1&1, THEY HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO OFFER, EXCEPT TEASER RATES!
I had a website almost a decade ago for a couple of years. I still to this day get cold callers (who know my name) trying to sell me SEO, web design BS etc. Now they won't let me access my account, and therefore I cannot take my phone number off a directory for a domain that hasn't existed since Leonard Nimoy was alive and kicking. Every time I call these guys it's an international call, so it's very expensive to call them and be told I'm not who I say I am.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - THEY WILL GIVE YOU YEARS OF HEADACHES AFTER YOU CLOSE YOUR DOMAIN
I was sold something were they did not deliver and I am so disappointed. I could have thrown my money in the garbage can and probably gotten better results
These are scammers who will continue to harass you for years and set collectors on you even after you close your account/contract. Be careful, stay away from these scammers!
Ionos is a company with fraudulent billing practices.
I signed up for a domain with them with the understanding that the rate would increase from $12 to $150 the next year.
IONOS is supposed to provide 30 day notice before the recurring charge and they did not do so. They charged me $150 and I immediately contacted them to cancel - they did not respond at all.
I filed a PayPal dispute and IONOS lost, so I received a refund. IONOS then decided to go to a collection agency, even though they lost the PayPal case
Sleazy company - stay FAR away
We had to create a new website when we acquired our business so we went online to cancel this hosting service. First, the option to cancel is VERY hard to locate on their website, Second, to actually cancel you also need to call their 877 number. Third, after 20-30 minutes on hold, you will be connected to a representative who will try to convince you NOT to cancel with any means necessary. Fourth, they may eventually agree to send you the domain transfer code but beware, if they also offer to update your contact info bc that locks your account for an additional 60 days (aka 2 more months of fees charged!) Also check your email to see if the sneaky bastard cancels your cancelation (like mine!) bc if you are lucky enough to get the 60 day hold removed (after multiple very long email complaints!), you will have to log in and cancel AGAIN and then call and wait on hold AGAIN and if you survive the hard sell again, your call will be transferred which will cause you to be on hold for another 10-15 minutes. Ridiculousness!
I had previously used IONOS to purchase a Domain Name. That went ok. I'd give them 2.5 Stars on that. I got a call from one of their telemarketers offering a free trial for a web site builder with the option of canceling within 30 days at no charge. They said that there was simply a link that I could click on to cancel. Well, there wasn't one that I could find. So, multiple times I had to deal with their Cancelation department and Billing department to try and get this cancelled. I have spent hours trying to get it right. I also had to dispute their charges on my credit card (automatic billing) and even change my credit card number to prevent. As I am typing this, I am still on the phone, again trying to get this resolved.
I recently came across a concerning situation, with IONOS, where they charged me a $12 without any notice or reminder. It was really disappointing to see such a lack of transparency and communication regarding this fee.
What stood out to me the most was how unjust this fee felt as it came out of nowhere without any warning. A trustworthy service should make sure that users are well informed about any charges so that they can make decisions based on an understanding of the costs involved.
Unfortunately I didn't receive any notifications or reminders about this fee, which left me feeling frustrated and unsatisfied with their service. Transparency plays a role in building trust between service providers and users. Sadly I felt that IONOS fell short in this aspect.
By sharing my experience my hope is that other people considering IONOS will be aware of these issues and can make choices when it comes to selecting their hosting service. I strongly urge IONOS to enhance their communication practices in order to provide a user-friendly experience, for their customers.
They're silly cheap, how can that be? Simple, they're fraudsters.
Their password didn't work. Their automated password change service didn't fix the issue. I've never been able to login to the account I paid for.
Can't log a support ticket, because you guessed it, their password doesn't allow a login.
So you can email their support to resolve this issue, right? Wrong. Their support staff won't talk about your account unless you're using the email registered with them. I use aliases, and don't have this issue with ANY other company.
So you can at least sort it out over the phone, right? Eventually, if you have lots of time and patience on your hands. So their customer disservice has been offshored to the Philippines. Their staff hang up on you when you ask to speak with a supervisor. They won't talk about your account until you provide the pin they provided, except they dont recognise their own pin either! Eventually I asked to speak with sales and managed to get a refund. There's a reason their prices are so low. I know tech folk who have used their services, and they attest to an intolerable customer disservice level.
I like to not 1and1.com because I was there just ripped from front to back. I just find it unfair prices are unjust and customer service is not exactly nice. A poor rating means here exactly!
The 24/7 support they love to advertise is just the tier 1 reset-your-password type of staff. Tier 2 is not available on the weekends (they say they are, but when you need to be escalated, it's a 1-3 day wait for a call-back.) We're just building our site, we are a very busy small business and asked six times (with six different chat reps) if tier 2 was available on the weekends because that is when we would be working on our site, and we were answered yes, (which we have in writing.) However we tried to get our site up this weekend and it was not possible because tier 1 said their site builder was "broken" so we could not finish building our site this weekend and there was no tier 2 support available. The tier 1 guy said he thinks the web site builder (their version of drag-and-drop is broken but there is nobody available to fix it on the weekend. He said they'd call back in a couple days.)We had set aside the entire day to get the site up and running. If they hadn't literally promised tier 2 on weekends, it wouldn't be so egregious.
My husband and I opened a £10 a month contract with Ionos last May. I was to pay for small extras for
Google or something. My husband was paying £10 a month for the contract. But they attempt to take his money as well.was told that these extra's were not part of the contract and could be cancelled
At any time. Firstly I have cancelled them several times and then they put them back up and try and charge me. 3 invoices and one of them for £24 which I would never have agreed to because it would take a while to populate the website. You cancel them and then they want you to ring them. And when you try and ring them you can't get through which is why we cancelled with them in the first place. There is no telephone support. You can't get through. My advice to anyone is take it to Action Fraud. I have cancelled my card twice and they just pick it back up. I have already registered this with Action Fraud and they are waiting for confirmation that they do it again. They knew they had done wrong and refunded everything. These people
Must be desperate. I am instructing my bank to dispute them if they are not cancelled / refunded. This is cyber crime at its worst. Don't touch them with a bargepole.
First they reply after 24hrs, once they do its baseless and useless with no information in it! Frustrating situation to resolve one basic problem with no proper reply!
THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WORST I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMP AGAIN, THEIR BILLING IS THE WORST, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST DEALING WITH A CALL CENTER IN INDIA WHERE YOU CANT UNDERSTAND A $#*!ING WORD THESE IDIOTS SAY.
THERE WAS A BILLING ISSUE THEY SHUT MY SITE DOWN AND ITS TAKING A WEEK TO GET JUST THE BILLING ISSUE SOLVED AND STILL LOCKED OUT OF MY ACCOUNT THEY ARE A SCAM COMPANY A FRUAD
STAY AWAY FROM IONIS.COM
Answer: Scam! Theyll charge you randomly without your consent.
