Auto renewal is in very fine print. They will put your credit card on auto renewal! I tried calling customer service and they were not helpful at all. BEWARE!
Buyer beware. You are on your own with this site.
I had one transaction that was bad all around. I won an auction for an antique figurine from Kavanagh Auctions in Montreal. It was described as wood, old, paint loss all over etc. The figure was in the photo standing on a base, both feet grounded.
It arrived and one foot was not attached to the base and thus will not stand. It swivels 360 around the other foot. No such damage condition was described in the auction description.
I emailed Invaluable several times and received no response whatsoever.
I then emailed Kavanagh with Invaluable copied on the emails and nobody responded to those emails.
I then telephoned Kavanagh several times, finally reached someone who said "Let me consult with my business partner and I'll get back to you." After several days when he did not get back to me I called him again, and he said, in effect, "its old; you didn't ask if it was broken; and maybe it broke in shipping and that's that."
So, in essence, tough on me.
Kavanagh is bad enough -- they should be blacklisted -- but the site that sponsored them, Invaluable, should have had the decency to reply to my many contact attempts, much less to make good on the repair or a reduction in the item's cost.
In any case, it appears that with Invaluable, you have ZERO assistance for purchases made by vendors they host. And, worse, some of those vendors are obviously shysters.
Shame on you both.
Examples - purchased a silver coin and a gold coin -they ended up being painted led...
He charged me almost $100 for shipping between 3 boxes and the most one was marked was $6.25.
Total fakes hiding behind their "terms" which is supposed to sell items as authentic. There only claim to fame is that people who buy on here aren't well versed enough to spot a real from a fake.
Never recieved the item i had bid on... customer service is disasterous you get pushed around from one rep to the other and they all say we are just a platform...!
BEWARE! BEWARE!
Invuable has a BIG PROBLEM with their live bidding. This is now the THIRD TIME I have placed a bid live and it read "just missed it, try again!", then I instantly placed another bid, which read "bid sent", and the item sold to a lower bid "floor". I would of won the item for $50 and I would of re-sold it for at least $1,000, if not more. I called and the person on the phone said next time I should "clear my cookies". Um, my bids were SENT, nothing to do with cookies, your website SUCKS. Byebye invaluable!
I am an auctioneer in Maine Daniel Alllen Lic#1431. I held and online auction thru invaluable and it was the worst experience of my 25 yr career! Every bid stated not accepted bid so the online bidders could not bid and the bids would not advance. It also
Stated that a "floor" bid won the bid when actually it was an online bid that won. So... that being said... the customer service was horrid... it was trainees training, lack of english speaking employees not understanding the question, my auction was on a Saturday the online bidding had major problems and I was given 5 different excuses and told no supervisor or manager on duty on Saturday! When I finally received a call back from them it was an international phone number... wtf! This auction was a live audience as well as an online auction... I had to cancel the auction, send everyone home and lost 1000's of dollars worth of sales...
I AM NOT A SCAM AUCTION... I was screwed as much as the bidders! DO NOT USE INVALUABLE... DO NOT USE
With Art Legacy Auction House I bid on and won a Paul Klee lithograph from 1954. When I didn't receive tracking info after paying for the item I called Art Legacy about the shipment. They said they'd get it right out and I gave them my business address to ship to. A couple weeks go by without an email with tracking and I call them again and Kathy asks, "Did you receive your Paul Klee lithograph". I inform her no, I did not which is why I am calling. Kathy says, "well the reason you haven't received it is because it was damaged in shipping and it is being returned to Art Legacy. She asks if I would like a different Paul Klee lithograph that they have and I clearly stated no, that Twittering Machine is the exact work that I want because 30 years ago in college, I discovered Klee because of this piece. Kathy says they will inspect the returned Klee and if it is in good condition, they will re-frame it and send it on to me. A few days later I receive an email with tracking info from Art Legacy. I'm excited because it must be that the package was damaged but not the lithograph. The package arrives and I open it to find that they shipped a different Paul Klee piece. Why on earth would they do this? Because Art Legacy is a hack auction house that apparently deals in fakes framed in $#*!ty plastic frames with $#*!ty plastic lenses. Still waiting for my refund.
I HAVE DEALT WITH THIS AUCTION SERVICE FOR OVER FIVE YEARS, AND FIND THEM TO BE VERY PROFESSIONAL. ANY PROBLEMS THAT HAVE ARISEN WERE DEALT WITH IN A TIMELY MANNER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AS AN AUCTION SERVICE FOR COINS, PRECIOUS METALS, CURRENCY, AND COLLECTING SUPPLIES.
I saved and saved to buy a Jim Morrison album signed by him and I paid $800 to Eye Candy Pop that is one of the AUCTION companies
Invaluable had in their auction. He took my debit card opened a Square Cash account took my money and I never got the album. Invaluable would not stand behind someone they had in THEIR auction.
Joined.
Made bids and then couldn't sign in using there app.
WTF
Unhappy with the service. Contacted the company via email.
Still waiting...
Not helpful at all.
They sell FAKE ARTWORK -and not even good fakes. Bought a piece described as - lithography print, signed by Picasso in red crayon. Wish I did more research before I put in a bid. The art was shipped in a bubble wrap envelope, no cardboard, just the letter sized FAKE artwork and letter of authenticity printed on cheap printer paper and with a cheap printer. The FAKE artwork and letter of authenticity were both bent during shipping. You could see the print pattern on the FAKE artwork -clearly not a lithograph. The letter of authenticity was fake too, bearing a low res graphic of a notary stamp. The stamp graphic was so low res, you could see the pixels. DON't BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. invaluable.com is a TOTAL SCAM! You'd get a better fake from the dollar store.
Online bidders are only used to push floor prices up, no online bids were accepted during my auction and the floor price was the same as the online bid, how are sites like this allowed
In online bidding in auctions sponsored by Invaluable.com, you are prompted to enter your maximum bid which, you are told, will not be divulged together with the assurance that their bidding tool will only go up by increments.
Do not believe that. Once you give your maximum bid, you are 100% assured that you will pay that amount, due to shill bidding which will increase the bidding amount to that immediately below your maximum bid, thus making your maximum bid the next bid. Then, there will be no more bidding and you will end up paying that amount while your intention was only to stay on top of the honest bidding by other interested parties.
It is a certainty that all maximum bids are immediately know by the seller and its shill bidders who then go into action with the sole purpose of increasing the price of the lot.
Invaluable.com does not keep your maximum bid amount secret but makes it freely accessible, thus setting you up for a big loss, while they and the seller profit.
Never, ever, put a maximum bid amount in invaluable.com or any auction. These people are dishonest and only interested in ripping you off!
I bid and won 5 autographs. After 2 months I haven't received them. After several attempts, nothing. I contacted invaluable, nice person Topher) nothing. Bottom line. They stole $500.00 from us
I have been ok with Invaluables until today. If I bid at an auction house through Invaluables I knew I would pay an increased premium Then, Invaluables went to BID PARITY. This means it is the same premium you pay if you were on the auction floor. This was acceptable. NOW... invaluables. Com is charging for accounts. So, they have now come full circle to the buyer paying the bid price, the auction premium AND a fee to have an account. Today, I was asked to select an account type. ALL choices included "pay for play"! I have bid on their site numerous times. NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE TOO? A buyer pays the bid; pays the shipping, pays the tax, and now pays invaluable.com for the privilege of bidding on their site. As a result, your bid price can be doubled by the time invaluables.com is finished with you. I recommend every buyer and auctioneer boycott invaluable.com. It is simply too expensive to pay all the fees! I haven't seen liveauctioneers.com do this yet but they would be wise to stay clear of charging for accounts for buyers.
I won one of their on-line auctions on July 21,2018, paid for it by debit card on July 23, and as of today, August 7, I have still not even received a billing invoice from their shipper, Pony Mailbox in Galatin, TN, nevermind the item itself. Phone calls and emails have produced no positive results, just excuses that they have a large number of items to transport to the shipper in the same town, and the shipper says they are doing the best they can to get invoices sent out and items shipped.
This is no way to run a business. If the local shipper can't handle the load themselves, then Invaluable, doing business through Worthington Galleries, should seek additional help from other nearby shippers to reduce the backlog.
I doubt I will be doing any business with Invaluable/Worthington Galleries in the future, unless they finally streamline their shipping arrangements.
If I had known I would have to wait this long for an item that I paid for and still has not been shipped, I would have made the 10 hour drive out to Galatin TN, picked it up myself and brought it home. I may do it yet if something doesn't happen pretty quick.
The process is definitely fixed to sell items at a certain price. They sell items that don't match the photo and description. They don't care that the auctioneers are scamming people. They don't help resolve issues with their auctioneers. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM INVALUABLE!
THOUSANDS OF FAKE FINE ART PIECES AND ANTIQUES/ANTIQUITIES ARE SOLD EVERY SINGLE DAY BY HUNDREDS OF AUCTION HOUSES ON INVALUABLE.COM. WHEN I EMAILED INVALUABLE INFORMING THEM THAT I HAD BEEN SOLD FORGERIES BY AN AUCTION HOUSE VIA THEIR SITE, AND AFTER LOOKING INTO THE AUCTION HOUSE FOUND OUT THAT IT IS A 100% FRADULENT COMPANY WITH A FAKE ADDRESS AND FAKE WEBSITE WITH ALL DEAD LINKS THEY NEVER RESPONDED TO MY EMAIL AND THE FRAUDULENT AUCTION HOUSE... ART LEGACY... IS STILL HAVING AUCTIONS EVERY WEEK WITH THOUSANDS OF WORKS THAT ARE ALL 100% FAKE! AND FOR THE SAKE OF MY OWN ABILITY TO MAKE SUCH A CLAIM... I AM A LICENSED ANTIQUES AND FINE ART DEALER IN CALIFORNIA BY THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE WITH A BRICK AND MORTAR GALLERY ON HOLLYWOOD BLVD (AS WELL AS AN E-STORE), AND I ALSO FUNCTION AS A PROFESSIONAL AUTHENTICATOR AND APPRAISER OF FINE ART, ANTIQUES, AND ANCIENT ARTIFACTS.
***DO NOT BUY FROM INVALUABLE AUCTIONS****
Having an issue with an item that was purchased from Invaluable over 3 weeks ago. I have Not received the item, NOT RECEIVED HELP, or a Refund. I have been trying for over a week to contact Invaluable but CAN BOT GET A SINGLE REPLY OR HELP FROM INVALUABLE. Has been over 3 weeks. I have NOT received the item or Tracking number from Iconz Memorabilia and Invaluable will NOT HELP
Answer: Same thing happened to me. Don't wait, they'll give you mumbo-jumbo.
Answer: Because you take a cut but accept ZERO responsibility. When called on to help, you disappear. That's why.
Answer: After three different experiences buying through Invaluable, I can confirm and assure that all three pieces of art are fakes. They sell pieces under the name of the original artist and shield themselves in their terms and conditions, but the truth is that after more than five months writing to the support service, I haven't received any answer. The three auction houses are still repeatedly selling fakes and are doing nothing to stop it. Invaluable is protecting all these auction houses from fraudulent auctions. And this doesn't mean that all the auction houses that use Invaluable are fraudulent, but a VERY high percentage are. Just do a Google search to find hundreds of results on different pages and videos. It's a shame, this seriously damages the credibility of the industry. Shame! Stay away from Invaluable if you're looking to buy an original piece.
Answer: It more than likely means the item didn't make its reserve and was not sold.
