Worst customer service ever. Different answers every time I call. Device has drained 2 batteries within 14 months. If your dui was in another state other than the one your license in make sure they are giving you the right equipment ( camera, or no camera needed) or you will pay for install removal and reinstall of the right equipment. This company does not give a $#*! about you, or your financial situation. Almost became homeless paying for this dui. One bad decision and I've been paying for it for 18 months. Thanks intoxalock for draining my bank account every month. I
Would rather be rotting in jail. At least I would have 3 meals and a cot. This company makes me want to drink. Make sure your last 120 days are perfect. And document it. Document EVERYTHING. GET a lawyer folks and fight the IID installation. Will save you money in the log run.

I called to set this up, and was told there is a 1 time inital charge, and then monthy payments, they set up for auto pay.
I went ahead and offered the first monthly payment.
I got an email telling me date of install, and informing me of a $250 install charge.
If I had been given that info in my phone call, I would of looked into other options.
I did look into other places about a week later, because this was playing out like a scam.
Life Saver! This is the Company you want.
They will look if you qualify for indigent, if you do, no charge on calibration appts.
I requested my back from intoxalock.
They charged me $80.

Horrible company!
December 20, 2020

All they care about is taking your money! Even when your time is up to get a nonrestrictive license they stay to get more time out of you. Even if your car is broke down in the garage they charge you if you can't make the calibration, then give you 2 hours to get calibrated. This thing has cost me over 2k so far.

Fraud and scam
November 29, 2020

A customer service rep set me up with an install appointment in my neighborhood at 8am. Drop my car off on time and go about my business. At 1pm I get a call from the car shop that Intoxalock never delivered their product so they still hadn't performed any service yet. Infuriated I went back to pick up my car. The next day the customer service rep proceeds to tell me that it's not their fault and now they are going to charge ME a no show fee of $50 and an additional $35 on top of the $27 I already paid for shipping!?!? This company is a scam looking to rob you, take it from me, avoid or they will take all your $$$.

I have been locked out twice because this thing sometimes will require a blow test when the car wasn't running. This could mean I left persons in the car with radio on and engine off. Theres NO reason I should be hit with Missed Test for that reason.

And don't ever have a beer when dining out. This thing will fail you if you blow a 0.03 and you're stranded (although it doesn't report you for this). I could see maybe if the device said "wait 5 minutes and retest" and if BAC is rising THEN make the driver wait longer. Remember it's not illegal to ingest alcohol and then drive a car. It is illegal if your Blood Alcohol level rises above 0.08.

Hate you very much. Thanks for the hilarious email inviting me to continue my intoxalock service AFTER my court order AND for a reduced fee! How nice of you guys. But imma have to go with F*ck you.

Which they weren't much help either! Not to mention when I first signed up I was told something tatol different when I saw my bill and called to ask about i got a rude lady.

Auto body repair shop
August 18, 2020

I spoke with a customer service representative named Myra 4 days ago regarding covid and repairs to my car after an accident. She informed me that because of covid the policy is to have the service center disable the unit for $50-$100 so NOBODY with the possibility of having covid would blow in my machine. 4 phone calls to set it up and ALL reps have NO knowledge of this. I absolutely have to have my car repaired and the story now is that it has to be uninstalled and re-installed for $600. Intoxalock will pray to God if I contract covid letting a total stanger blow.

They only want to talk to you to get you to use them. They get you at your most vulnerable. Once you get the device installed, they ghost you. It took me 45 minutes (my first try was 25 minutes of nothing) listening to a recorded voice to finally get it to transfer me to a live person (another 12 minutes). That person had an Indian accent and spoke 7 words before the line went dead. Unbelievable. I was told that my installation fees would be waived, initially. I get to the stereo shop and they tell me it will be $200 to install. I couldn't get a hold of Intoxalock. I had to fork it over. PREDATORS! Find another place! They're NOT the only ignition lock company.

This place is a joke!
August 30, 2020

Been with them for awhile now and had no issues in the past. When needed to change out battery and what not call them no problem. But trying to get a hold of them now is impossible. So much so I ended up with a major violation because fixed my ignition switch and couldn't get a hold of them. Thanks a lot intoxalock and still can't get a hold of them to get evidence for appeal hearing. Stay away from this place. Just stay away...

I don't even drink within 24 hours of driving now and I've had not one but TWO lock outs! And they charge YOU $75 for each one. Guess what they were for! The first one was because the device drained MY battery and I had to recharge the car (It's a 3 year old car btw) and the second was because I had my music too loud and didn't hear the damn beeper while I was driving. Even though my freaking BAC is ALWAYS 0.00 while I drive. $#*!ing thieves. And the rolling blow ALWAYS manages to be when I have a tight curve to go around or there's a semi in the oncoming lane. This is a dangerous and flawed device.

Intoxalock has been the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire adult life. Here are my major complaints: I was charged for accessories (a monthly fee for a warming sleeve) that I was not given; My calibration date was consistently every three weeks as opposed to every month; Lastly, I had to fight so hard and submit multiple complaints to get Intoxalock to approve the removal of the device. It is impossible to reach a customer service agent. The ONLY way to get an agent to address your concerns is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I recommend everyone dealing with Intoxalock contact the BBB immediately. BBB.org

My typical bill from them has always been bi-weekly somewhere around $60 each of the two payments this month 08/ 2020 they charge me three times when I call their billing department they were evasive and lied through their teeth about the overcharge they wouldn't credit my account so I had to go to my bank and put in for a dispute they're so dysfunctional they don't want you to talk to a live person and that person is probably told to lie so that they can get away with stealing your money they put me through to supposedly a manager and she lied also also had a lot of problems with them with setting a service appointment for calibration if you don't plan on moving then find another company that's honest I only chose them in case I had to move to another area

This company has the worst customer service out of any service that I ever had in doing business. You can never get in contact with anyone they all about your money once you sign up for their program. They start digging in your pocket with hidden fees. This is definitely a money grabbing company with the worst customer service I've ever experienced I don't understand why this company is still in business they are not a local company in the state that I live in and you can never get in contact with anyone without having to be on the phone for 45 minutes to an hour and a half. They have a 24-hour roadside assistance that you pay for a monthly so if anything goes wrong with your vehicle are their old faulty devices you supposed to be able to contact them it takes two to three days to contact them by then you are in violation with the DMV. They charge you for everything that has nothing to do with drinking and driving and they have a hidden fee for the calibration that's $25 every time you go to the service center to get your device calibrated. This company should not be in business.

Angry
November 14, 2021

I have to get my car worked on this month. Three times I've had to bring it in. Intoxalock has no way to override the breathalyzer. So, ever time the mechanic works on it it locks out. Intoxalock waves the 70 dollar fee (as the should) but I still have to pay 20 dollars to the service center when it locks out. So that is 60 dollars this month I have had to pay due to bad design. I called for a refund and Rep told me there was nothing they can do. Go with Draeger if you can they have codes the mechanic can use to override the breathalyzer so it does not lock out. Unfourntunatly Draeger is not in my area. This company doesn't care about bleed you of money until you write a bad review. So here I am... Will change review if refund. Otherwise this is going up everywhere!

Never ending billing
June 24, 2022

I had a voluntary device installed in a family members car. This person has some pulmonary issues and was unable to generate enough respiratory effort to make the device work. The device was installed for only a period of days. The local technician was very appropriate and friendly when working with the family member however there are multiple schedule changes and delays.
I contacted the main company and asked for the device to be removed which it was however billing on my credit card which was set up automatically continued
I called and got shuffled through multiple people at the national level taking hours to try to get this resolved. Apparently the device was not sent back by their local technician and they thought it was appropriate to continue to charge me for their technician to not mail it back
Each month I called explain the case there is no record of it being removed they call the local technician who confirmed it was removed and that she just forgot to mail it back after months of this occurring they asked me to go to the local technicians place to mail the device back otherwise they were going to charge me $1500 for the device
Despite talking to multiple representatives discontinued and emails stay my account was late and overdue kept coming in charges kept happening I ultimately had to report my credit card as lost to prevent this never ending billing

I always pay my bills on time and take pride in Paying my way in life. This was wrong and they failed to take responsibility for their own technicians and resolve this problem
Beware of automatic payments I may never end

DO NOT RECOMMEND
December 22, 2021

If I could rate this company less than 1 star I would. This device looks like it's from 1980s. It is faulty. You have to blow into this device EVERY day or it will eat your battery. I have gone through 3 batteries so far where it completely drained it. I could have the car jumped so on top of price of tow, new battery - they also charge &150 and count as a violation. In addition no one with customer service can help at all or speaks English. The whole reason I even chose this company is because the location of the servicer and I went in to get it calibrated and they told me they no longer were servicing Intoxalock and couldn't tell me who was… I
Am writing my lawyer now to see if I can switch places
That's how terrible this company is. I don't know what I was thinking I've lost so much money and am scared this
Faulty device is
Going to get me more time.
This place is AWFUL

I had my intoxalock transferred to my new vehicle. The intoxalock company canceled the work order that was supposed to go to my mechanic shop. Due to that the dmv never received my transfer form and revoked my license. Now I get to miss work since I can't drive, pay for my license reinstatement fee, if intoxalock ever gets the work order sent out. I have spoke to two people as of now. One hung up on me, the second being very rude. I paid my transfer fee but intoxalock never did their end of the job. I have now lost my license and possibly my job due to their mess up. Don't use intoxalock.

Edit: just got off the phone with the second guy. He couldn't even get the work order sent out. He said management is not answering their phone. So I still won't be getting my license reinstated due to intoxalock being lazy. I will be contacting the better business bureau.
