Though Instacart was an amazing concept, put into action, they do NOT have their lives together. Like, at all. I feel sad they have my credit card information! First of all, they only processed one of my orders because their credit card processing is messed up. It declines my card even though I have plenty of cash and was ordering other stuff at the same time through other sites. It's not a me issue it's a them issue. So I started ordering through King Soopers website directly which links to instacart but they use their own credit card processing company that actually works! Next they come whenever they feel like it! You pick a window and they just show up whenever before after or during said window. What's the point! I had to speed home from work to handle it. Last, they don't shop well. They sub dumb stuff! I ordered 6 pizzas for my family, they subbed 2 (little french bread pizzas). Great now I have to go to the store to get the rest. I ordered a six pack. She couldn't get three two packs? Like with? Over it. The cherry on top is they have no customer support. You will not hear from them. Get your life together instacart!
Hmmm. It's a shame (and a bit scary) to read so many negative reviews. I just used Instacart for the first time and had no problems (as far as I know, although I will be going over my next bank statement to make sure they didn't charge me twice.) I don't mind paying a little extra for groceries because of the convenience. However, I gave it four stars instead of five because it appears they don't treat their employees well. A five percent default tip is ridiculous. The default tip should be 15%, the typical tip amount. I gave my shopper a 15% tip on your website and also gave her a couple of extra dollars when she arrived. Your workers need to make a living. Perhaps all the negative reviews are reflecting how you treat your shoppers, If you don't care, why should they?
I received my order when I looked at my receipt, there was a charge for a coke for 1.88. (I didn't order any drinks). I got charged for 8 paper bags@. 77 each, I received 3 bags. Instacart has tried everything to cover up for the driver, I guess the surveys mean nothing to them. The best part was when the driver pulled up to my garage and told me I could pop the lock on his hatchback they way I could unload my own groceries. Instacart won't even address that issue. Never using them again!'
Please do not use this, they have a policy that prices in instacart platform are higher than store, however they are still charging higher than the advertised price in the website. SO IT IS A SCAM,, DO NOT EVER USE THIS INSTACART. USE WALMART OR LONGOS THEY ARE WAY BETTER, I purchase a papaya the store price is $2 vs. $5 dollars charged, the watermelon the store price is $6 vs $11 charged prices are almost double.
Been using them for a little while now. Living in a city and not having a vehicle, I am able to do large amounts of grocery shopping. Where as I used to pay for an Uber or Lyft to help me get more than 2 bags of groceries home with me, now I have the convenience of having them delivered at a fraction of what I would've paid for the delivery. I did have one challenge, where they replaced sausage with ground meat, that didn't work for me because (1) I don't have pig intestines on hand to make my own and (2) nor was I going to try. I did get in touch with their support center and they were able to refund me. Other than that though, solid service, that I will continue to use.
I really enjoyed having Instacart until I had a problem with my delivery. I was supposed to receive my order between 5:40-7:40. At 7:40 I received a message stating it would be a little late but should be to me by 8:20. It's 8 am the next morning and I still have no groceries. I emailed three times in which I was told that my order would still be to me by the selected time, even though it has well passed. I called on the phone. There was no apology no explanation, no compensation for my time, just that the could have my delivery to me by 10 today (skeptical) and I could have a $5 dollar coupon to be used NEXT time I used there service. Their customer service is terrible and there is no system in place for if your groceries don't get to you when you order them. Ridiculous.
Do yourself a favor - uber to your supermarket, do the shopping yourself, then uber back. Don't get insta-scammed.
The mark-ups on items, missing items, unauthorized substitutions.
Not worth the missing items and produce, and perhaps you DO get the requested produce, yet it is far from a quality choice, coupled with head aches of complaining again and again only to get a small credit just to keep you on the hook for another hit-or-miss attempt at what at first sounds like a great idea, just so poorly performed on all ends of the spectrum.
Human resources and a better vetting/interviewing/accountability structure needs to improve substantially if this type of service expects to be what it claims to be.
Today. 2 separate store orders.
Wegman's order goes nearly flawlessly (shocking) Got everything as ordered and delivered timely despite delivery being 2 houses down for a minute, no sweat the gps corrected.
Aldi's. Where to begin? Despite making replacements for everything on the list so 30 items, all available according to the app, with 30 substitution items - also available says the app.
Either we got a rogue shopper or the app went haywire as items were being recklessly added, substituted or downright incorrect. Contact was attempted yet not responded to, before anything had any semblance of sanity there was a notification of the shopper checking out. Great, so I suppose we needed a chat in person to see what the issue was.
Unfortunately, by the time of being notified of the shoppers arrival, I reached the door to see the aldi's order at my feet and the vehicle with a beep of the horn already pulling away.
2 -5 lb bags of apples? Nope, 2 apples.
2 -5 lb bags baker potatoes? Nope, 2 potatoes.
2 head of Cabbage? Nah, here's two heads of iceberg lettuce. Same thing, who cares?
No pretzels. Yet we get charged for them, I suppose shoppers get a little craving being around so much free food all the time it never hurts to indulge, since we customers can only complain and get a refund credit to our next order and never an actual refund for what we order including a refund for the monthly subscription... keeping us on the hook to have another similar episode the next time around, perpetually never getting the order just right/shopper "forgetting" an item purchased/etc.
-This is barely the beginning of winter and were looking forward to how helpful something like this could be, my wife and I really feel for the elderly and folks who really need this service and see the horror stories on this site and can only wonder if this service will ever improve if even any steps are being taken to try - it really seems like a great idea but just an enormous mess and whomever is handling this is showing lack of empathy and effort. Hope with each and every complaint that a message will become clear and we pray it will be for the better and improvements come swiftly or a better service will surface elsewhere.
Regards A&K
Long story short: I live in Midland and ordered 2x but never got my orders. Their drivers decline my orders. Waited 30 hours for one order. Rushed home for it and waited all day. They keep offering credits and free delivery but they won't deliver to me even though they claim they will. So what's the point of the credits? Walmart and Superstore lost my money. I won't go back. It's not worth it. They are full of empty promises and are unreliable.
This morning I checked my bank account and noticed an astronomical charge of $99 from instacart! I have only used this service once and to say at the least very disgusted and as expected very dissatisfied! The delivery driver spoke no English, not that that's problem but the fact he didn't even acknowledge me he was on his cell phone and didn't even come to door I had to go to where he was parked because he honked his horn obviously!
I work for a retail company that gets quite a bit of business from instacart. Because of their employees that shop, I was so against placing an order that one time. The employees come in my store and expect to hand there instacart orders to us like we work for them and are rude and nasty. Most of the Instacart employees look like they have no sense of urgency and have poor hygiene for that matter.
Anyways when I spoke to customer service today they were trying to spin it off as my trial free membership was over and that's my fee. I never signed up for a membership I promise you that! And I placed my order 2 weeks ago for $19 and that included tip. Customer Service was sooo nasty and rude just like there shoppers. They told me to learn to read and now my refund won't be here for 5 days because of their mistake! What if I was not in a position for a mishap like this? How am I sure this won't happen again? They have all my info, conveniently around the holidays so to speak.
This is disgusting and from reading all the other reviews there needs to be a lawsuit! Which by the way when I asked to speak to a manager today they refused to give me a corporate number and they had no idea how to obtain that number?!? Which is straight bull $#*!!
I am in complete amazballs over this delivery service! I ordered a $#*! ton of groceries, like enough to feed 10 Honey Boo Boos! $250 dollars later online, I completed the order. I got a play by play real time txt messages from the shopper Gal. I mean she had better communication skills than all of my ex boyfriends combined! My groceries quickly arrived shortly after with a knock on my door. This girl doesn't mess around you could tell she was one of those "try to get all the grocery bags outta the car in one trip or quit" kinda Gal. She dropped off with a smile, said that completes the order, I thanked her and she left quicker than any of my one night stands. Superb!
I needed one item for an upcoming party, so ordered a few things in order to give the order picker a decent tip. The order picker was quite good, but the item I needed was not in stock and the replacement suggested was not even close to the same item. Instacart needs better connection to the store's inventory levels. Running low, is NOT completely out.
Instacart charges an insane markup on the groceries purchased from my local Wegman's compared to the prices in store which averaged about 25% on my order. This is in addition to the already hefty fees and suggested tip. To add insult to injury, they have the audacity to tack on an additional "tax" for which no representative I spoke to when I called to complain could articulate what it was based on (there is no sales tax on groceries in PA and it is very unclear what amount they are charging the "service"). All told I ended up paying $150 for an order that would have cost me $107 to purchase directly in the store.
This was my first experience with this company. Absolutely awful. I spent an hour putting in an order, and I got a confirmation that it was immediately canceled. They said they detected fraud. I called three times and spoke to people from different countries, most of which I believe was India. Possibly Bangladesh or Pakistan. They barely spoke English. They said somebody would call me back, nobody did. I kept calling back. My problem was I didn't want to waste all that time spent placing the order. I said I want to speak to a supervisor, finally. She kept me on hold forever, and said he's too busy right now, he'll call back in one to two days. I said just delete the whole account. I said I could give you a tremendous amount of business between personal and business. I run a large company, and we could definitely see where their services of grocery delivery would make sense, but they have competitors, and I can assure you, this one I would not invest in. Total disaster. Told them to delete my account.
I am being charged weekly even though I bought the annual subscription. I do not recommend. Customer Service ignores complaints.
I ordered groceries through Kroger, a delivery person named Angelica in College Station, Tx took the groceries to her car and called in and said she had a flat.So She call in and canceled, I never got my groceries, and it took hours to get through to talk to someone about getting my money back. When I. Finally talked to someone they said it was channels I had to go through to get my money back and it could take up to a week. Now my son is without groceries I ordered him for Thanksgiving and I'm out of $100 plus dollars
UPDATE: Instacart offered me $125 credit and free delivery to try again. Guess what, they charged my card $160. No credit, after double checking their process with Taylor. MAJOR SCAM - STAY AWAY!
Um, no. This is the one and only time I've tried this service. The ordering and delivery process seemed to go well, but when the man and woman showed up to my house, their trunk "wouldn't open" and they couldn't complete the delivery. So I'm sitting here, with Instacart holding $155 of my money, and nothing to show for it. The best answer from customer service? It will be 24 - 48 hours before my money is refunded. Not only did I not get what I ordered, I'm out $155 and someone else has my purchases because the trunk "won't open". Seems like a scam to me, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I had questions regarding a refund and tried to explain several times. I felt they delivered a standard repl. Then it became dismissive when I explained it again.
Wish there was an option for quarter or half star. Instacart is a rip off when ordering items by weight. Do not order from Instacart and keyfood. Their costumer service agents are not competent in doing simple math. Worse experience ever. I never received the item i was billed for and never received a credit. I will never order from Instacart again. I ordered fresh turkey breast advertised as $6.99/lb. I ordered 10lbs for a total of $69.90. They delivered a turkey breast of 8lbs at $2.99/lb for a total of $23.92. Where is my difference of $45.98. They refuse to credit me my money. I will take this further because it took a whole day on the phone with their uneducated agents trying to explain the issue and it by the end of the day my blood pressure was elevated and my anxiety level was increased.
I have a foot injury so shopping is difficult. Every time I placed an instacart order there was something wrong. The shoppers look for the easiest answer and don't care about customer service. If you call or email customer care, they do nothing to remedy the problem. DON'T WASTE THE EXTRA MONEY, IT ISN'T WORTH IT!
I used instacart to supply groceries for my granddaughter while she is in college. Whatever your total is (in my case $69.00) your bank account will be billed an additional $85 that will tie up your money for days. So, my $69 cost was really $154.00, $85 of which was "pending" and therefore unusable by me for days. Stay away from them and yes, their customer service is overseas.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
