If you want to lose your money, buy in intacart. If you want to spend your time buy on intacard. I bought an order. I received the email that was delivered and the order was never left at my house. Who knows where they left it at my door. Then you get tired of calling and no one answers you. I wrote an email still after a week nobody has called me. I mean they steal you and you can't claim. Do not buy in this application. They are thieves

April 17, 2020

Zero Stars. Said they delivered to us an hour ago, but I guess shopper/thief Jennifer M. Is enjoying our $150 order. Thanks for stealing from my family with three special needs minors, you C#N*! Perhaps you will get sick.

Bye Bye InstaCart
April 17, 2020

I'm over 60, on disability and due to the Covid19 was encouraged not to go to the grocery store and use InstaCart. I'm on disability and have an autoimmune disease so during the current pandemic I ordered groceries through InstaCart. I did know that $120 would be charged on my credit card but it would show any changes after the shopper completed shopping and delivered my items. I've read and heard from the customer service that prices would be different but not by $54.00! I was charged for items not received and overcharged for items that were also incorrect. (like a chuck steak that was clearly labeled $5.94 but I was charged $13.91) The total bill I was charged was $132.74 but the shopper's receipt was $78.41! I can ill afford to pay such an exorbitant price! No more InstaCart for me!

Terrible Terrible
April 17, 2020

83% of my items were replaced with no communication to be before hand. Many replacements made no sense ie. Two packets of powdered onion dip replaced with a tub of ranch dip? The actual store receipt total was $400 but Instacart charged me 428. And also charged &3.99 delivery fee. 5% service fee ($21), and 5% tip ( my choice) ($21). So my $400 grocery bill cost me $474. When Instacart replied to my question about the overcharging of my grocery items they gave me a bunch of hogwash via email. Never never again.

Do not use them they are very bad and they don't respond no one to speak with.
I used them for the second time. I specifically said do not replace if item is out of stock. They charged me for everything, they replaced 3 items for a very cheap and low quality but still they charged me way extra for the organic stuff the original ordered stuff. I keep emailing them, I have sent more than 4 emails no one respond. They took my money close to $35 extra charged. And they took more $24 for item I didn't receive. They are very bad do not use them. I gave 1 star because I can't write a review without it. They don't deserve any star. I am thinking about calling channal 7 and talking to legal services.

This insta-theif in the photo below stole items out of my order I guess she was shopping literally for the both of us, So beware, Instacart deactivated my account for nothing I was supporting there business by using there delivery service so I wouldn't have to leave The house during this Pandemic with my son that has Autism but I was deactivated from Instacart I didn't get a refund or canceled they just sent this theif to shop for my items I didn't know she was shopping until I got a text that said she was leaving the store and on her way to deliver my items I couldn't contact anyone in support because my account was deactivated I couldn't reach anyone to fix my account or file a complaint on the theif, So use instacart at your own risk they can steal your whole order and you won't be able to contact anyone in support to help you they just send out generic messages about their working hard to get back to you. I will never use Instacart service again

Instacart takes orders and then shuts their site down for "maintenance" which makes it impossible to communicate with the drivers. This company has idiots at the helm and should go bankrupt.

They also charged me $14.56 service fee and $14.56 tip! I paid over $100 above and beyond the actual cost of the groceries! (see below) Won't be using this service again! WOW... especially during a time when people are stretched thin for money due to COVID 19... AWFUL SERVICE!

Order Total
Items Subtotal $291.16
Delivery Fee $8.99
Sales Tax $2.04
Tip $14.56
Service Fee $14.56
Total $331.31

After waiting nearly two weeks, I received my order, excluding five major items that were in stock. There was absolutely no communication, nor even the possibility of me contacting the shopper or anyone else from this company. During a time when people depend even more on this service, and the business is swelling, they've removed all customer relations (work that can be done part time from home) so no one can contact them with concerns. If you can avoid it, do not ever use instacart. They have too much responsibility as an unreliable business that provides an essential service for a lot of people - they shouldn't be rewarded for failing the public. Now I'll have to make frequent trips to grocery stores, on foot, during a pandemic. But at least it's an (ill-advised) option for me, unlike so many others who depend on food delivery, and lack alternatives.

My order was delivered this morning. I didn't receive any of the meat I ordered. I received a huge pack of chicken breast. However, I was charged for the steak and pork chops. I sent an email immediately - they offer me a $22.95 credit. I am livid! Been on hold now for over an hour. I'm not a happy customer.

Priority list
April 16, 2020

Instacart has recently begun a priority list for the shoppers. The people who tip the most are first on the list. If you're elderly, ill, retired on a fixed budget, etc., and can't afford to tip a lot, don't expect to get your groceries in a timely manner or at all.

Buyer beware
April 16, 2020

I understand that during these tough times we have to be patient. But if you were offering a service you should at least be available to take care of the issues that come up. I swore I would not use Instacart again because of a bad experience. Unfortunately, they do not credit your credit account with missed items they credit your instaCart account forcing you to continue to use them. My most recent experience was horrible. I was delivered all the wrong items which I returned to the person who delivered them. I was forced to stand near her car to point out the items that were on my list putting me and the Instacart representative in danger.(which defeats the purpose of having a groceries delivered not to expose yourself in the stores) after I noticed One item was wrong I decided to let it go at that time because the driver was frustrated. When I viewed the receipt I noticed the credit card that was charged was not mine. This concerns me, because I wasn't sure who's groceries I was going to be charge for. The items on the receipt were mine but not the credit card. The only way you can contact Instacart is through an email. You receive a generic email back Apologizing for your inconvenience but not responding to your issue. I now have to call my bank to see what they've done. Again, during this time I understand we have to be patient. But a lot of us including myself are unemployed and cannot afford to over pay for items that we never received.

I wish I could give Instacart zero star.
What Instacart did, in my case, was picked up $38.65's worth of groceries from H Mart (Delivery person inadvertently left his/her H Mart receipt with my groceries) and marked them up between 12% and 151%, and charged me $72.85 plus fees. This amounts to an overall mark-up of 88.5% plus fees! This is a major ripoff!
Patronize them if you don't mind getting ripped off.

Buyer Beware
April 15, 2020

How can I give this service a 1/2 star? I ordered 4 boxes of Pop Secret Sweet n' Crunchy Kettle Corn and was charged for 4 bags of Boom Chicka POP Sea Salty Popcorn. I did not authorize the substitution & it's not even close to what I ordered and paid for. When you submit a dispute you never hear back from anyone. This is the second time does blunder has occurred. THIS IS A SCAM AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.

They are theives
April 15, 2020

I ordered groceries through instacart because I don't drive and needed food during this Covid-19 crisis. And instacart took my ordered, promised delivery with in a few hours and then never delivered them. They charged me immediately for them and when I contact them I get no response. No one answers their phone. They are theives taking advantage of people that need food during this pandemic. Shameful. They never responded to my complaints. I had to cancel the payment though my bank. Beware before using this service.

I used to love instacart in 2017 when shoppers were actually staying in touch, reading your directions, and getting what you wanted or worked with you to find suitable replacements. In my recent orders this has not happened at all. No communication, unacceptable replacements if any, completely wrong items, and items missing. And then: impossible to get customer service at all. They made it impossible to get in touch with them. It used to be that one can call and wait or schedule a call, but now it just says they will be in touch. Guess what? They never are. I am going to dispute the entire charge of my last order because this is ridiculous. The people who shop and deliver are trying their best while being totally exploited. They get a small fraction compared to what Instacart actually gets. Disgusting!
