Process was way too complex and convoluted to figure out myself! So I ended up having to give my personal information to someone else to help me. Just put the DD214 on the VA Benefits website where the Disability award letter is! It took waaay too much time to figure this out and added a lot of extra time and I ended up not getting the DD214 when I needed it. Absolutely HORRIBLE! Veterans deserve better!

The ID.me agent was nice but he gave me false information regarding what personal data would be provided to the IRS. When I checked the ID.me site after verification, I learned that everything he told me was untrue. Also, when the agent asked to see my documents, I noticed that a "streaming" balloon appeared on my computer screen. No one disclosed that my video call with the agent would be streamed anywhere. If you care about your privacy, don't sign up with ID.me.
