I have been having a problem for weeks and I cannot get a person to respond. Everything is an automated response that has been unhelpful. This is completely unacceptable. Someone needs to be accountable for the customers having difficulty especially when this is used for employment and unemployment.
This was my 2nd attempt - first attempt a week ago, the app hung.
Much better and cleaner this week. Be careful with the Yes / No answer... the app seems very sensitive. For Yes hit the very upper part of the bar - I touched the middle and got an error. I think the app needs a little tweaking. Overall it was easy to navigate and provide and submit what was requested.
Setting up the ID me account was quick and easy, only took me like 5 minutes.

We have used id.me since the beginning to fight the possibility if being victims of fraud. The old system was easy to use and very straight forward. The new system website is not user friendly and I could not get it to work. Despite the fact that it stated it opened multiple browser tabs for data entry, it never did. I even made sure I was using a recommended browser. I had to use a chat agent to get everything strsightened out. The web software is apparently using old cached data instead of the newest data entered in input fields. The cache must be cleared to get fresh information in. In short, the web software needs a lot more testing before the developer gets paid.

It went well until I had to take a picture of my drivers license. I took a picture of the front and back of my drivers license. Both times it said something was wrong, but it didn't tell me what the problem was. I decided to use my passport instead of the drivers license, that went well and didn't have to retake the passport picture.
Discouraged. If IRS and other government agencies want its citizens to use ID.me it must be easier to comply and speed up response time. Takes way too long to sign up/in. A telephone call is a lot easier and faster.

Was very confused as to what to do or navigate the website. I'm elderly and it needs to focus on knowing that elderly don't have the knowledge of computers. I finally sat down an it took 3 hours to figure it out. Very frustrated.
Although it takes a while and a lot of verification process, I think it was for the best for the overall protection of vital information.
Self service option was confusing and I could not complete verification. However, video chat was quick and easy. Service rep was pleasant and courteous.
