ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

It's quick. Got it done. Need to know the next steps
I was surprised how easy it was to use this process. I really feel there should be a process, system and requirement in all areas where you must show proof of your identity. Very easy to use and secure.
Easy to set up and the video conference went easy as well.
The process was easy, and I had a great experience
And she always wanted to be a mother. A simple project turned into a minor hassle
The IRS Made me do it, and it wasn't terrible...
I'm adding more so I can hit the arbitrary limit of 50 characters that Sitejabber requires.

I recently used Id.me to get in to community college website. The process is very easy, smooth and quick. Even changing the existing details due to error in id.me also got updated with in 24 hrs even though they mentioned it will take 1 to 3 business days.
I'm not a proponent of technology therefore I would always prefer speaking with a human from start to finish when it comes to matters of this sort.
I didn't realize when starting this process that it was not going to be easy to do on my phone, I had to grab my daughters laptop to guide me along. Once I did that, I was good to go.
Good overall experience with the few things I needed taken care of
Good hard working and hard work is all it took for me and I have been blessed with my life today
I was trying to establish ID.me credentials. I am using AdvancedMD EHR. They referred me to Dr.First.com. They gave me a link to ID.me. When I entered my information. The screen message informed me that I have an existing account. Of course I do not know such an account and it would not tell me what it is. It turns out my hospital registered me to ID.me for electronic Rx purposes. When I asked DrFirst, they told me that I have a duplicate account and I should delete one of them from ID.me. So, I emailed ID.me. They sent me instructions on how to delete one of the accounts But they did not tell me which one again. By trial and error I found an account opened in 2023. So I deleted the newly opened account to continue with my credentialing for my personal EHR, because I did not want to delete the older one because I still work in the same hospital. Once I did that. I re attempted ID.me credentialing, again, and chose the existing account (the old account). ID.me now tells me it cannot be done because I do not have sufficient credentials and I should contact my systems administrator, which is basically me. SInce DrFirst knows my current email I used it when I bought the AdvancedMD services, and, apparently, they automatically informed ID.me of the new email address. So ID.me expects me to use the new email but when I go thru 15 minutes of painstaking ID picture taking, and facial recognition, it puts me into a vicious cycle of repeating the same procedure again and again. Once, I deleted the my application with the new email and restarted using the old email address, ID.me now tells me that it is not sufficent credentialing as stated above. And finally ID.me locked me out, recommend me to contact systems administrator or wait for 24 hours to regain access. I am at a loss, and in the mercy of chatting on line. I spent well over 5 hours yesterday. And another 2 hours today with no progress. I guess this should explain why I am so disappointed. If this issue is resolved for Florida, I will also apply for Illinois for the same privilege as well. I am already having nightmares. There are no doctors who can afford to waste so much spare time. Any timely help will be greatly appreciated.
I mailed my IRS payment and needed confirmation of my payment. Since I already had an ID.me account setup, the process was EXTREMELY easy for me to activate.
