Had to get 3 secret numbers to verify my identity --& still gave my drivers license & still got no where its- just like you call anywhere to access your account- answer 10 questions-your put on hold -& then you have to do the whole thing over again
Yep yep there are a few hoops to jump through then there comes more hoops but in the end you will look back and wow really that was easy just very detailed oriented but that's what make you feel safe
As a veteran, I have gone through similar online verification sites for benefits, can't understand why each government entity has it's own process. Should have one process for all govt websites.

Went the extra mile, by staying on the phone and walked me through, confirming that all steps where correctly completed before moving to the next step, and ensured first that I could sign in to myhealth e-vet portal, before ending our call.

Then I made an attempt to LOGIN to Social Security services at: https://secure.ssa.gov/
And as soon I PRESS OK I receive the following message:
"We are unable to verify your identity
Your identity information from ID.me does not match our records. To resolve this issue, please report any changes to your personal information, such as your name, to the Social Security Administration, External website ID.me, or both.
The identity information mismatch will not affect your Social Security benefits."
- I have tried CHROME and Microsoft EDGE, and I face the same problem!

My experience with ID Me was extremely good. I was able to follow the prompts to scan my documents through the camera from a mobile device. My phone number was utilized to verify I was the owner of the phone number and email by providing security codes for the next level of security. Once all my documents were uploaded it took less than an hour to successfully link my benefit site to my data.
I am an old school,69 yr old that struggled to get all the info ids to get through. I use a desktop to look up sites,able to print everything. I have a horribly low signal in my rented older movile all metal on the outside so to use my cell phone I have to use bluetooth to be able to try to talk on the cell phone as it sits in my kitchen window to get a signal,hoping not to get disconnected before completing my need call. Such a difficultly to such a long difficult process but forced to do so to go to some sites.
Given these choices by the program, my selection of III was "accepted". When data input was completed and the review of input arrived, the Roman numeral 3 appeared as three small i's. Iii
A final question invovled a review of input, and if everything was correct. My situation-the answer is NO. After multiple loopings of answering NO, the overide was to accept use of the three small i's. Iii as my suffix-which is not correct. I am able to access ID.me, but with trepidation.

Set up account and when I try to login to IRS, password is not recognized. Tried "forgot password" reset but I don't get the email. Should be able to use Login.gov, not just this outside contractor.
I was very satisfied in general with the entire verification procedure. The US Department of Homeland security should contract with "ID.me" to process immigrants seeking asylum in order to take this burden off the shoulders of our border security guards, and to free up the guards to have more time to catch criminal illegal immigrants and deport them back to where they came from.
In order to prove to the government who you are, you have to give all your data to this third party. Not only do they want a picture of your ID, they want a video selfie. Why would they need to store this data? And the video uploaded returned error messages 4 times. We shouldn't have to do all this just to interact with a government agency.
Too many hoops to jump through just to get an account. Takes forever and then when you type in your e-mail address that you have used forever, it gives a red! And states that your e-mail address is not a valid account. You then proceed to use another of your e-mail addresses that you have used forever and once again you get a red! And states that your e-mail address is not a valid account. Ask for too much personal information and then wants Face ID! Really folks?
Initially, was somewhat frustrating but became easier with repeated tries to complete the process. Would certainly recommend to anyone who needs the services provided. 👍
The verification process is thorough, and the options to use additional multi-factor authentication methods is something every website that holds customer account information should utilize.
