I used my ID.me account to log into my Social Security account. In the past, it has worked seamlessly, however this time I had to jump through hoops just to get my 1099. Not only enter my cell to receive an email code to then enter the code on my browser, but also take photos (front & back) of one of my identity cards - and THEN take a selfie from my phone that ID.me could access before sending me back to my browser! CRAZY! Yes - it may be secure, but my wife only had to enter her LogIn.gov username/pw, and we feel as secure using LogIn.gov as ID.me.
It was easy to verify my id.me and it was very quick. It only took 5 minutes
I couldn't get into my account because I lost access to my old email and phone number. But I emailed them and they helped me update all my info so that now I can access my account and everything is updated... I would recommend for sure.
The experience was not easy. I had to keep retaking pics of License. After confirmation I still was granted access and I wasn't provided ID Pin
This burdensome system doesn't retain login credentials over a span of time, and I've had to go through the time consuming, burdensome reset process three times. It's 2025! Either design the algorithm to work in a streamlined fashion or scrap it!
