My SSA login stopped working so I had to get an ID.me account to access my tax records for SSI. Had to upload front & back of my ID twice but it failed to take the selfie. After a bunch (12?) of attempts without any alternative, it offered a video chat (great!) but once she got the selfie, she went off before I could verify I was actually able to get in. But the error message gives me a number to call. I call the number to be told I have a 2-hour wait on hold. I can't give 2 hours so I have to hang up as a failure.
I have an account that I set up in 2023. When I tried to use it now, I was caught in an endless loop where they asked me multiple times for a code sent via email, then cell phone, then landline. Despite the fact that I already had an account and I knew my password, they told me I had to upload my ID again, take another selfie, verify the info in my credit file, and then we are back to entering codes they sent to my cell phone, etc. It was a nightmare. I spent close to two hours on this nonsense before I finally gave up.
My interaction with the IDme system was at first very easy, however the further in you went, you experienced it getting harder and more direct questions, and tasks, up to the point I got frustrated, then realized it was the thouroughness that was the cause.
I commend amd recommend the ID.me verification system.
Endless virtual bots. Email only customer service. Slow response time to get assistance. If you can't eloquently define your problem you will not get resolution you will endlessly be stuck in a create a new ticket and start all over again.
I had no choice but to use this signing in method. It took me over a week to get through the multi-factor authentication. I don't know why I had to input the same information endlessly, only to leave in frustration and come back the next day. Whoever developed this process can go f*** themselves
Amazingly easy yet it would be impossibly difficult for anybody to duplicate what they asked me to do to prove my identity. I hope they continue to do business with me I wouldn't want to use any other company.
After multiple attempts over several days to verify my ID with the Self Verification choice... I was unsuccessful, even after following the prompts closely.
When I was unable to self verify... there was not a straightforward means to link to the ID.me customer service.
One attempt using the Video Verify... was successful... so go to directly to the video.;-)
I followed along without hassle. The graphic design was clear and navigable, user experience was outstanding. I had a bit of trouble with one section, but it's clear the devs are still taking feedback and are working that out. There were absolutely no wrinkles or glitches in the software that made me click-click-clickity click-rage quit. It was just, go here, click here, fill out this line, click continue. Boom. Very well written and no moments of /headdesk, or ugggh.
Excellent. I want to know my balance with IRS so I can pay them off before I file my 2024 tax. My tax preparer asked me how much still I owe. I don't know. He gave me the IRS number to call and inquire and I was told I have to wait 60 min but if I don't want to wait I can go to the IRS website which I did and which I didn't regret cause IF. Me assisted me from the start to the end and very happy with the outcome. Highly recommended.
I enrolled hoping to get a PDF of my SS-4 certificate with my valid EIN I reactivated when I changed the name of my business. No such luck. I unfortunately am now forced to call the IRS and wait on hold for hours before I can speak to a human. Very frustrating.
Steps were easy to follow and set up, only issue I had was when I was finished, and it stated you are all set and email verified, I was not redirected to my search page, or home page, left me guessing if all was ready to go.
I went to the VA Hospital this morning to get into the new system to be able to email my Primary Care Physician and download medical records for my disability claim. The technician was trying to help get me connected and he, himself was frustrated by the login process.
1. Options given are not defined. Ie: Authenticator App, which I added - I do not understand how to use this.
2. I added two people to my Advance Designation - after summiting, the names were not saved. How do I fix this?
3. On the page: "Authorize Social Security Administration We've verified your identity! " says: you can remove this access at any time by changing your ID dot me account settings. I COULD NOT LOCATE THIS SETTING. I want my information removed.
I needed to verify my teacher status for a comm service discount. ID.me was easy to verify my status as it also accepted a website screenshot (with a URL displayed). I could complete the verification in a few minutes and get the discount from my carrier on the site.
This is the second time I've created an ID me account to qualify for a veterans discount. The first time I deleted it because they abused the personal information I'm required to provide by sending me Spam e-mail offers (maybe for a mattress or something) almost immediately after sign up. This time, they woke me up twice at 1am with survey requests I never asked for. How hard is ot to add a checkbox on sign up; "Is ot OK of we contact you with special offers or surveys?" I guess just like last time, Ill be requesting deletion of my account as soon as I iuse the discount to make sure they respect my privacy, because clearly they don't care about it enough to respect it while I have an account.
ID.me needs to do a better job explaining who they are, their relationship to federal agencies and why I'm being asked to sign-up with ID.me instead of the federal agency. The "virtual" methods for doing that are frustrating and largely ineffective. The bottom line is I needed to talk to someone on the phone— I still do!
Redundant... Like I mentioned before I was unaware that I was going to have to use another service other than the IRS to file my taxes it's a very inconvenient process when you have to file your taxes and deal with the second or third party
Idme is a win for veterans. You can guarantee that if IDme says they are a verified veteran, that that is exactly what they are! Every company should be using IDme so they know the discount they are giving is truly going to a veteran. Too many scams and scammers out there. You need IDme to protect yourself and to assure those you are helping are exactly what they say they are.
A surprisingly lengthy process made needlessly frustrating by the fact that I had no idea what each step of the process required and what documents were needed beforehand. I found some of the instructions provided within the steps to be inadequate. If it had not been absolutely necessary for me to sign up, I would have exited the process without completing it.
One of the most frustrating experiences I've had lately. And I figured out what was wrong it was even worse. Then I asked my feedback and went on and on forever with questions that were redundant and repetitive. Don't they pay their people to do some of the stuff? They think I have time and effort to teach them for free? Don't bother with these people. Pathetic excuse for a helpful program.
