The fact that I need to upload a video of myself to access information that I had access to for nearly 2 decades is a terrible user experience. Beyond that, after the process was complete, I still couldn't access my data. Even this feedback form is asking for personal information that I would prefer not to share. Terrible.
It took some time, but at last I succeeded had good experience. Reasons why I said that it took some time from me being that most of the information I got were initially rejected and I kept changing till they were finally accepted; even my email, password, ID and selfie.
Using original documents is fast and a sure path to getting verified without hangups. Verification agents are capacitated, efficient professionals. They are personable and helpful guiding through every step.
This is the most personally invasive experience you could imagine. I just needed a receipt of my payment and had to share every piece of private information you could imagine. I checked if it was a scam. I don't trust that my data will be secure. I'd advise you do anything you can to obtain whatever you need from some other source.
I got through the application process for my identity to be verified. I uploaded everything BUT received a "403 forbidden " error. I attempted to login & move past the error code but was unable to advance. Everything I did produced the same error code. I attempted to locate a contact us number. No luck. In the meantime I received an email saying my id had been successfully verified. It also had links to get into the system I was getting verified to use. I entered my login information got to select what I wanted to do and it wanted me to go through the verification process AGAIN! I decided it wasn't worth the frustration & quit before doing what I needed to do!
I love how easy it was to verify my ID, connect my accounts, and access my information. After struggling to get another service to verify my ID, I tried my ID.me account and it worked great, even with my recent name change.
I found using IDme, easy if you know how to upload photos to a site. That was the most difficult task for me, but I am not good on the gadgets. What saved me was I had an iPhone and an Ipad, so by using one to figure out what I needed to do, and doing it on the other device helped. But it is fast, and I got the info I needed.
Have a photo of your driver's license or passport ready when you log into the site. There are a lot of steps to verify your identity, but they are easy to complete. I don't know if you have to go through this each time you log in. If that's the case, I would reconsider.
ID me makes it very convenient for me to log into the government sites that I need that have a tendency to be easily manipulated by scammers. With ID me I know that I'm logging into an actual website for an actual government office and that my identity is secure. Thanks ID me you guys rock.
Its really cool being forced to hand over multiple forms of ID and Personally Identifying Information to some random site that promises they are secure just like Equifax, Facebook, LinkedIn, CapitalOne, and more... oh wait all of those have been hacked in the largest data breaches in history. Autoverification doesn't work, Sign up is a pain, uploading multiple IDs, Requiring you to allow some random person to hop on a video call so they can see you and where you live, etc. Bad site, Bad systems, I hope the government doesn't try to intertwine themselves even more with this company. Privacy Nightmare.
I have been trying for months to order a new copy of my social security card, I had lost it along with my driver's license and my birth certificate making it almost impossible to replace any one of those three documents. Luckily I was able to find a copy of my driver's license and using the ID.me verification process, I easily verified my identity and was able to order another social security card. While the directions to set up an account are easy to follow, I was unable to merge a non-profit I was attempting to sign up. Frustrated and quit. During the process I bet I had 12 codes sent to my phone lol.
At first I was a little worried and irritated that I was having to upload so much documentation and take selfies. It was pretty daunting and took up quite a bit of my time. But once it was done, now I can sign in with ease. Yes, I still have to take a selfie to prove it's me - which I wish that I could just use my face sign-in. But at least they prove it's me and not someone pretending to be me signing into my account.

I was assisting a Veteran with the ID verification process and it could not have been easier. The agents we worked with were extremely helpful and very professional. They were patient and explained the process very well. The platform was one of the best I've seen and very user friendly! The entire process took less than 20 and that was only because we had to upload a document again due to expired license. The fact that we did this on a Saturday was fantastic and I was able to help a retired Veteran gain access to VA.gov to review his dashboard. Success!
I would encourage anyone needing to verify their identity to use this site. I am 62 and don't have a lot of experience using the new technology that is available to us. I found this site to be fairly easy to navigate would highly recommend it to anyone who is ready to learn more, and who often find themselves frustrated, embarrassed due to their lack of knowledge, which does not make for a pleasant experience.
Worth the effort, carefulness is key, preparation is a must; but the process is streamlined. The key is being able to gather all the data required to satisfy the requirements - which the process tells you every step of the way.
It was easy to use and great. I didn't have that much trouble in getting access to my account. I did have to resubmit my state ID cause it was probably blurry and couldn't be used as well as my video but after I redid it everything was quick and fast and smooth.
