This is quite fishy the company admits that 3 parties have access to your ID and they force you to have facial recognition. My question is why the CA government certainly does not do this for voting, welfare, or other social programs.
So we have to submit to the Orwellian company whose system is deeply flawed why?
Now it gets good I tried to set this up but can't no matter what I do I cannot set up the facial recognition portion it would be OK with me if we could just skip it unfortunately that will never happen.

I submitted a document to verify I am a current student and received an email that they were "unable to verify your status as a current student." The document clearly shows my name, my university's name, and that I am registered for classes for the spring 2021 semester, everything ID.me claims to need. I can't believe a person actually looked at the document since a 7 year old would be able to look at it and see it met those requirements. And then when you go to submit a request for assistance, they have very limited drop down menu options, which leads me to believe they don't want people contacting them. I chose a similar option and submitted it anyways because the issue is theirs, not mine. Truly ridiculous.

I followed all the directions and keep getting "Phone number is invalid" BS my phone number is not invalid! And that's it! Nothing more, as the soup Nazi once said "No soup for you!" Nothing works. It said my wait was 1:50. More than three hours later I got connected with Sheridan F. Only to find out my audio and video wouldn't work. Then I got it working in another window with no indication how to connect back to Sheridan F. If I start over the new wait time is over three hours which in real life means six. What a horrible system.

Started my ID.me verification on 11/30/2020. Hold=3 to 5 hours waste of time. Over 10 emails with apologies and excuses but no solution to my verification. Today 01/07/2021 waste 30 more minutes and back to square one. Trusted Referee still in in vacations because never show up for over 5 times and still waiting for him. If I had the power to out of business/close this ID.me company before I finish my review it would be gone. Good Luck America with this shameful ID.me worthless company.

I don't know who they are or who created their application, but it is a total catastrophe! It is supposed to streamline id recognition but simply does not work. After uploading required documents and taking a selfie, the app could not verify my identity. I had to wait 2 hours to do a video call. When the time came, the app told me I needed to upload another document. Another two hours to wait for a video call. I expect another bug when that time comes.

This system is a complete waste of time. Cannot get unemployment unless My identity is verified through this third party company? Which by the way sucks! Their system obviously cannot read documents that have been uploaded. If you're going to force people to use a system, you should at least make sure it work properly. Upload your ID, wait upload your SSN, wait upload your health insurance card, wait send us a selfie, wait send us another selfie, oh man wait we need to do a video call with you to verify your identity because our system sucks. But now that we have your ID, SSN and Health insurance information we have the ability to use your identity for fraud purposes if someone here chooses.

If you're trying to get your ID done for the California EDD system, good luck! The system continually fails when they want you to use your cell phone for a "selfie" to verify your id. Then, they "are not online" when you try to chat with a rep to find out what to do. I can't find a phone number to call them on their website - which claims 24/7 help (HA!).
If, after trying and failing, you go back to the EDD website, you start all over again with the uploading of documents. Then the ID.me selfie fails (again) with "Change rejected". What change if it didn't work in the first place?
I've turned off the VPN on my phone, turned on the camera for the browser, made sure I'm not in "private" mode, and made sure that pop-ups are not blocked. It still fails.
This is unacceptable - and (dictatorial) Governor Newsom of California gets an "F" for not making sure it works before it was "rolled out"

In dealing with this company, I waited 3 hours for a "referee" only to get kicked off, then waited another 2.5 hours only for them to claim my passport wasn't valid, then signed in to verify again only to be cut off again. They want physical paper bank statements to corroborate identity verification when most of the world is paperless... No phone number, no ways to contact anyone. … This company is terrible, inept and ridiculous and they should be ashamed of their performance and should be reprimanded for their ineptitude and inability to uphold their promises of a streamlined process. If this company couldn't handle the overflow of unemployment verification requests, they shouldn't have taken a contractual payment from our State from the government. Our tax dollars are being wasted on companies like this while most American on unemployment need immediacy and are suffering. I can't wait until Gavin Newsome is gone.

I have been working to verify the identity of 25 unemployment claims. Not once has ID.me accepted the documents they requested. Many of these claimants have already verified their identity thru UI so why does ID.me need a video call? I also have three clients waiting on a video chat for over 36 hours. I have clients with recovery codes, and some without. This leads to duplicate ID.me accounts. I have a client who could not provide requested secondary documents, because the pull down tab for secondary listed primary docs, and you have to choose one. But more importantly, if your email address, phone number, uploaded copies of State issued IDs, Social Security cards, birth certificates, medical cards, along with a face scan and a selfie, arent enough to verify who you are, how is a video chat going to help? My biggest complaint with this company is their failure to just ask, at the beginning, for all of this information, instead of leading us to believe your ID can be verified with a state issued ID. When it can not. The whole process strikes me more as a way to collect evidence against fraudsters, then it is to verify who you are, and sadly many Americans benefits are being held up.

I am never one to give reviews but ID Me is probably the worst put together website on the internet. I joined a que for a video call and it said that it would take 2 hours. I waited the 2 hours and then went back to my commputer, it then said 3 hours. I waited yet again and went back to my computer and it said I had to wait over 5 hours I then contacted there customer support and have yet to get a response. If there was an option to give zero out of five stars than I would.
