My experience with ID.me in setting up an account to file a complaint regarding identification theft was very easy. The detailed instructions guided me through the form quite smoothly and I was able to complete the form in a timely manner to submit to the IRS.
No one has reached out to assist me in unsuspecting my account. I create the account, double check once it is set up, I even save my username and password. But when I go to access the app and get into my account. It locks me out and I cannot get help unlocking the account. This is very frustrating. You can't even get this survey submitted. What the heck is going on her
The days of live interactive customer support are long gone. While directing access through online portals Live chat bots, and limited online chat support, On a recent government search, was having no success accessing the listed drop down needed. Then, a pop up appeared on screen for IDme, Explaining by creating a IDme account, my access to the government and many additional secured sites would be easy as 1-2-3! Always sceptical, I proceeded to setup an account. Took only a few minutes and once they processed the needed security documents for me. I was reviewing my needed forms and all other needed information. I don't do reviews, I apologize for the lengthy rambling/ My review on IDme. Is finally a User friendly, easy setup and 💯% secured platform to connect me to important and personal needed information/ I would recommend this to everyone. No hesitation. Good luck
Dystopian nightmare for me. Needed ID verification to get my unemployment benefits. Forced to use this system. Photographed my ID, scanned my face, and then….nothing. No feedback at all. Logged back in to web account, no status. Tried support - there is no live support by text or phone. Web form only which gives completely irrelevant form reply.
Someone tried to hack my ID.me account and I didn't allow access but when I needed to login to do my taxes it took 16 days, 3 documents and a video call just to login to the IRS website. If they thought I was hacked they should have contacted me
The questions are easy, they use 3 documents and have a good list to choose from.
Take pictures of the docs, front and back and have them on your computer.
The video caller helps make sure they can read your documents.
It was not a complicated experience like I thought it would be, it was quite simple over all; from start to finish... glad I did it... it ha allowed me to obtain my information to complete current actions I'm working on...

Since we are always in a hurry, this tool helps you to avoid having to sign up, no need passwords for all different websites. You just verify once your identity and it's really easy to follow experience. I use it in all the websites that have this option to sign in.
It's nice to find a really easy to understand and secure.
What's really concerning is not knowing who's at the other end of any communication online could be a villain could be a terrorist could be a con artist could be someone so intelligent that they're all the above that question is what I fear I don't know about anybody else
It was very easy to do the process of getting the account made. It didn't even take me 15 mins to get it started & done. The lady that I spoke with was very professional & nice the instructions was very clear on what to do. So if you need to us this website I highly recommend it.
My experience has been quite interesting. Despite of having a different address, the system was still able to identify my current address, other than what is listed on my Drivers license. Uploaded documents and verifying my education with work experience wasn't an issue at all. I definitely had a great experience.
I was a little anxious about waiting considering WMR kept glitching. I was also a victim of having my taxes files in 2022 with 2021 tax season and was worried it would delay my refund. As soon as the agent signed on, he had a smile on his face and a cheery attitude. He was swift and understanding and I really appreciated that considering I can only imagine how overwhelming being an agent with the IRS during tax season. More so this week as PATH lifted. Kudos to him for a job well done.
It is not ID.me fault that not all individuals on the other end does not know or be properly computer set up for the requested process. Once the computer was set up properly it really was quick and easy.
My suggestion before one gets to ID.Me that you redirected to troubleshooting know how's.and expectations.
My account was suspended. I now have no way of communicating, with Social Security regarding my retirement. I am 64.
When entering your Social Security number twice, ID. Me will change the format of you Social security number on you first attempt. But your second attempt won't match. ID. Me will then suspend your account " for your safety". You will have no communication with Social Security from then on.
I had an extremely satisfying experience using I.D. Me as a source to access my identity for social security disability information. The website in my opinion is very secure and fast, and i would highly recommend this procedure to others to use for identification.
Relatively simple and straight forward with access to many different Federal agencies that offer different services. Logging on and logging off is not difficult and the experience was not terribly time consuming. Compared to the other login service which i finally gave up on because of the difficulty in completing their process, this was straight forward and simple.
Took the time to talk to other users, most whom were not able to get it to work. I previously ordered all med thru MY HEALTHY VET. Never had a problem. Went to VA and saw 18 vets waiting for meds, took 2 hours. Never more then 2 vets waiting. This system will cost the VA. Another bad decision by the Government.
I accidentally created an IP pin on my taxes several years ago. The IRS failed to send me my pin number, and in order to access it, I have to submit to their facial recognition software and upload identity documents through a third party website. Huge invasion of privacy and hassle just to be able to file a standard US tax return, as required by law.
The results are good, but the process took way to long. Many seniors will have problems with verifying their ID to meet the new Social Security requirements, and while ID. Me works people should expect it to take some time.
