I have be able to get rebates sometimes, but other times, I scan the product in the store and the app says it is valid but when I scan my receipt after purchase the app says it is not valid. I would not have bought the product if I knew I would not get the rebate! That is bad

My experience with the customer service team unfortunately was very untactful. My issue was resolved. However the mishandling of a good customer has left me with negative feelings moving forward I would not use their services.

A friend of mine kept on and on about how she was making money, and while I was leery at first, that soon subsided. Yesterday I "withdrew" money for the first time. After hitting submit, within seconds I had an email saying "Ibotta Colorado has sent you $38.50..." then, transferred that money to my bank account (waiting on PayPal mastercard)
There's a few caveats, make sure you read the fine print under the rebate (sometimes you have to buy more than one to get rebate) also look if it's a bonus buy, you get extra money and NEVER scan the receipt, only the QR CODE. Scammers out here are trying to photoshop receipts and they're smart, they'll shut your account down. Scanning the QR CODE off the receipt also credits your account within minutes.
I'll keep using it. If you're honest & not trying to make this a side hustle, then you'll be fine...
This company is worthless. They offer rebates and it was working fine in the beginning however since they did the update on thier app for some reason it thinks you are duplicating receipts when you try to scan a receipt it doesn't allow you to select the items you purchased so when you try it again they say you are duplicating it. After all, contacted social media and they removed my posting, put in a ticket instead they deactivated my account. There is no way you can speak to someone at this company and address the issues with this app and or get your account resolved and Money refunded. Stay away and go to checkout 51 it's much better and less of a headache.

I accumulated $19.25 in my account (one needs $20 to cash out). When I tried to log in to add more rebates to my account I was locked out. SEVERAL emails to Ibotta went UNANSWERED. A search of the internet shows MANY MANY complaints along the same lines. I've filed complaints with my State Attorney General, the AG in the state Ibotta does business, and the BBB. SCAM!
This has happened 3 times to us. The first time we didn't notice how much we had in our rewards, we thought we had $20.25. The app logged out itself. We tried to log in, the password didn't work. We then reset the password. We use the new password and still it wouldn't let us log in. After 2 days we were able to log in with the new password and the total reward was reduced to $11.
My roomate and I both got locked out when we tried to retrieve our giftcards. They accused both of us of using more than one device. My roomate and I have our own phones and do our own shopping. We never put in duplicate reciepts. After this accusation I responded back that I only own one device and asked them to show me what reciepts I was supposedly trying to duplicate. They will not contact me back. Yep. I see class action lawsuit coming...
My daughter in college try's to earn extra money to help with costs. She opened an Ibotta account and it wouldn't work. So I, her mother was able to open one for her in my iPhone. I went to visit her, took her to buy groceries and had her try to access the account from her computer as I did not have my phone on me. She would have been able to collect $10.00. Ibotta shut the account down saying their rules were broken by opening the account on my phone. Funny they didn't mention it for months until she wa ready to get paid. From what I've read they are a scam. It's advertising and purchase tracking at its finest as scans go.
Finally done with Ibotta. The time I've spent trying to get tiny little. 25 credits that get "missed" when they process a receipt is not worth it, which I believe is their intent. Final straw was a bonus I didn't receive and when I questioned it I was told that because it was so popular, they shortened the time that it was available, without any notice. They're headed toward consumer protection trouble. File a complaint with your state consumer protection agency, it takes numbers to move the government to action. Can't wait to be part of the inevitable class action.
Been with ibotta for a month, earned 25.50 when my phone broke so took over a phone my daughter had not knowing they had ibotta accounts on the phone so Ibotta chose to kick me off FORBIDDEN ME TO LOG ON NOW AND KEEPING MY MONEY!

By giving you your first payment they earn your trust and than they don't pay you anything
They even don't have a contact number on which customer can contact for their problem also they don't reply to any of your emails.

So far I have no complaints. I had it on my phone for years and never used it. I have been lucky and already am up to $23.00 in less then a month. They have my yogurt on sale and Ive gotten some bonuses. I know each month will not be as good.

I used the app for about 4 or 5 months. During this time, my phone number got changed and trying to get them to understand this through customer service was a nightmare. I had built up almost $50 and was trying to cash in, but I could get no where with their tech team. Finally, they locked my account with some crazy story accusing me of using multiple accounts and cheating on the app. Total crap
First of all the threshold to cash out is so high ($20) and the rebates so poor (. 20 for basics, slightly more for stuff you'd rarely buy), that it takes awhile to get to $20. NOW they said they'll be charging $4/mo (!) if your account is inactive. They stated it had to do with unclaimed funds being escheated to the state - BS! They could just allow you to cash in for gift cards at your current amount! On top of that, they give you 7 days to activate your account, but deduct the fee BEFORE the 7th day is done (they stole it at noon!). I'd planned to make some stupid purchase just so I could claim my hard-earned $.
Anyway, I smell a class-action lawsuit on the horizon and the death of Ibotta...
I tried to do a rebate and they said it wasn't allowed because of some BS reason. I bought TWO Glade candles, but since they're in a TWIN PACK, they won't accept them even though the barcode scan agrees with me that this IS the item. I'm getting my first rebate cash and leaving if I can even get it when I do have enough to leave as I see many reviews saying their rebate cash was stolen. I'll add screen shots soon. They had like at least 5 people commenting back to me on this one issue AND they were all saying the same thing so I know a good bit of it was bot work. Cheap a$$es, can't even come off of $2.00 and have way too many stupid rules. Also, they don't have nearly enough rebates nor brands. They have basically NO rebates for any really popular restaurants. There are like 10 restaurants on this and they mostly are rebates for alcohol only!
I purchased Glad products for a raffle and used my 3 year account with ibotta for the rebates. My raffle director asked me to exchange SOME of the products so that all gift baskets had the same exact items in them. I turned in the receipts and was accused of FRAUD! My account was deactivated and ibotta claimed the two pizzas my family are for dinner were returned. I offered to provide proof of the pizza leftovers from my fridge and they refused. This is the ONLY time they have ever had an issue with me and yet I am treated as a criminal. I am a 3 year client of ibotta but this was my largest payout of $50. The BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU has had this same complaint MANY TIMES and most clients lost all their earnings. BUYER BEWARE
I would stay away from e-bate apps. I have had issues with all of them and have had to file more than one BBB Complaint to be issued a rebate. Today, I'm looking into filing an FTC complaint against iBotta. Every time I've come close to cashing out, they send an email on the very last e-bate that says they can't read the receipt or don't see the product on the receipt. You can then click on "View the Receipt", at which point you will see your crystal clear, perfectly legible, unambiguous receipt. Basically, these e-bate apps are trying to track you and your shopping habits for free. Don't let them. This is your privacy we're talking about. They need to pay for it. Their sole function is to issue rebates, yet they engage in tactics to prevent having to pay. I initially liked iBotta because they offered solid rebates on liquor. I was willing to stick with it even though I had a couple of glitches. I initially gave them 4/5 stars; with a star being shaved for the small problems I had with them. But small problems culminated into bigger ones. The problems also show a distinct pattern of fraud. Stay away.
