I have a top-tier subscription and still have to watch commercials. To make it worse, they repeat the same ads dozens of times in each episode. Last night, Hulu made me watch 16 times the same commercial from Baptist Health. Next time I need a doctor, I will go anywhere but Baptist Health.
I am canceling my subscriptions. Youtube is much better!
Has great shows and movies, but for black Friday sale I got Hulu with ads. In a 20 minute show like" $#*!tz Creek" there are 4 minute and a half commercials. In a 45 minute show like "Sons of anarchy" there are 7 or 8 commercial interruptions...and to watch a movie...hope you have an extra 25 or 30 minutes to watch it cause there are so many commercial breakers. Regular TV is free because we watch commercials with it. Watching the commercials is how we pay the networks for watching their channel. With Hulu you not only watch all the commercials the businesses pay Hulu to show us but we pay Hulu for the privilege. They should be ashamed of their selves. None of the other movie apps run so many commercials for paying customers...Hulu is just a money grubbing monster, that I hope will be fined whenever the government figures out what they are doing.
Great site to watch videos on. I regret however that I can not see how much buffering I have accumulated. I have a slow internet connection and it would be nice if I could put a video on pause and wait a long time so that I have enough buffer to watch the video in a smooth manner. There is buffering but you just cannot see how much has accumulated.
Hulu will charge you if you don't want to watch ads and then still run them! Don't bother to pay extra for no ads because they claim that certain "stations" have the right to run ads and they cannot do anything about it. Ridiculous! You also cannot fast forward through ads if you're watching something on demand.
What is the point of paying for "ad free" when you still have watch ads on every show you watch. It's not live tv and I'm paying for no ads but there are still adds every 5 minutes on televised shows. Don't waste your money on the ad free options.
The customer service the is worse. I wanted to add more to my subscription like cloud and other channels but it would not work. Tech support could not explain it and said I should get a refund. Customer service fought me tooth and nail on this and even said I was one of haters for demanding a refund even though the tech support back me up saying it was not working and they could not resolve the issue. I asked why I am a hater she said because I live in Idaho. I told her I move here two years ago from LA because of my job and people here are very nice and diverse. She called me a liar and hung up.
I started out not paying for the ad-on for ad-free commercials but I gave in and and added no-ads for the extra $6.00. Ads went for 30 seconds to 90 seconds and now they are up to over 4 minutes. Seriously, how is that ad-free? I don't get it! Its not the end of the world but I pay $6 for no-ads and I'm not getting that Hulu? And I want to know why?
Please explain this!
Its enough.! This new hulu app is the worst of the worst of apps. Its so frustrating, requires you to go through a lot of steps just to watch or find one show, It is a nightmare owning this shiet. It buffers like crazy. It freezes a lot, is not user friendly. Perhaps it was made for techies alone since they seem to be the only ones giving the app more than 2 stars. I am switching. Even though I love watching the handmaidens tale, I will let my memories of the book sustain me. When hulu changes their App, I will come back. For now, forget you Hulu.
I'm paying for NO commercials and most channels have them! In fact, more commercials than regular cable! They claim they have no control over advertisers, yet, you can pay $11.00 more for enhanced DVR. It's all a scam to get more money from you! So, in order to get commercial free HULU, you will pay $17.00 more on your bill. What a scam!
I like Hulu but paid for the Live no ads well it should say Live Some ads. Only shows that don't have ads are the on demand shows. All other shows have ads. Very disappointed. Very misleading. False advertising
I have two issues with a Hulu that relate to their use of advertising. There are so many MANY ads. You have to sit through four ads before you can start watching. Then there are two breaks and at least one of them features three ads. The commercial breaks often disrupt a show - they definitely need to work on the way they cut to commercials so it's smoother.
The second issue is the volume of the ads is so much louder than the show I'm watching. I constantly have to mute the tv during ads because it's just blaring. When I turn the volume of ads down, I cannot fully hear the shows. Because of these issues I am dropping Hulu and getting Sling.
You have saved my life HULU! Tried other apps. They all had something I had to do without. Finally
Subscribed to Directvnow. Tried to cope for about a year. Just couldnt take the issues of buffering, stopping, and asking if I was still there. Decided to pay higher price and get Hulu! Boy was it worth it! Love it! What a relief. Thank you. (Have had Roku stick and no problems)
Hulu Plus is great in theory. You pay a monthly fee and you get to watch past and current TV episodes. The only problem is the ads. I understand having ads to pay for free content but the fact I am already paying for access just pisses me off. I would gladly pay a higher monthly fee to not have to see ads. I greatly dislike the fact that if I sit through 2 or 3 ads then I pause the show for 30 seconds and when I resume, I have to watch more ads. I will stick with netflix and my xfinity apps. They may not be as up to date with current seasons but I much prefer not having to sit through the same 5 commercials up to 5 times in one television episode.
Hulu is by far the worst. I cant even watch a episode of anything without it pausing from anywhere to 10-20 minutes. I have to restart it to finish watching anything I try to watch. My husband and I have been trying to watch the same episode for over an hour. And it doesn't help that thier are advertisements. I dont wanna pay to see advertisements. There is no way im going to continue to pay for hulu when netflix is 100 times better.
Tired of the ripoff Comcast prices I'm giving Hulu Live a try. Frankly, with the freezing, awkward interface, strange jumping around the stream, commercials... not sure it's worth. Probably going back when Comcast offers one of those new user specials. Since, I've been gone I'm a new user again. :)
I've had Hulu for years now. I pay $60 dollars for live tv and no ads. Now they are raising the price up next month. And now I'm starting to see ads. I spoke with someone from Hulu and he said you only see the commercials to shows we don't own. That's false advertisement then. So now you're increasing my bill and making me watch with commercials? No thank you. I canceled that same day
I'm going back to prime video this app sucks now always disconnecting always errors playing it's a $#*!ty service now and they want you to pay for it if it doesn't work properly they should pay us what's wrong with the world is people keep paying these $#*!ing idiots just like Xfinity another company needs to be burned down and start over so hulu until I see some money back or perks I'm dropping you no more wasting my money
Lost my previous review. I notice the commercials are getting longer and longer 100 min, plus. Why can't you's cut down to minimal commercial as advertised. After my rate 5.99 / month is up ( which will be soon.) it will be up to 7.99 a month ( same as Netflix) it's like watching regular tv only tv is free. Why pay any amount if it's the same as. I will be switching back to Netflix and not recommend Hulu to my friend and family as soon as the rate goes up to regular price. I will not pay 13.00 a month for non commercial when Netflix is none. I know that could be adjusted so why Can't it be changed or at least lower the price way down on noncommercial.
Very aggravating
I pay little for the service but when I noticed how often it buffers or freezes except for the commercials I get it's not my cable service (which is the fastest and most up to date). I guess they want me to pay for the upgraded useless deal instead this us my last month.
The first day I tried Hulu, I have been having nothing but trouble. I was charged during my first week's trial. I tried to place a complaint and no response on line or by phone. Watched a movie and it continuously was buffering. I was able to cancel it for the end of the month. Read reviews that people still charged. I do not trust Hulu worth anything, so, will cancel debit card and get a new one before end of month. Also, I found no good original shows to watch, and, the selection is no better than Netflix. Netflix is far better than Hulu. I am going to file a complaint with Better Business this week, because, Hulu is horrible!
Answer: Not worth it since they updated their interface into an unusable mess. Customer service is awful, stay far away.
Answer: Happened to me. Stay away from hulu. My systems is high speed and works great with YouTube 4k and Netflix 4K HDR. Hulu obviously is bandwidth limited which might work for customers who watch old movies but their technology is not good for 1080P and modern technology.
Answer: It's hulu yet clearing the cashe every time before starting Hulu is substandard there overloaded
Answer: Yes & with Hulu Live you get all of the local channels like CBS, NBC, Fox & ABC. The shows are clearer too because of the way they come in from their On Demand libraries. I love Hulu Live & was so tired of Dish for a few reasons. You should just try it. You get the first seven days free & can cancel anytime. No contracts, equipment or bullshit. All you need is a good strong internet signal which most of us have today. My monthly bill was $100 with Dish. My new Hulu Live bill is $80, but that includes no commercials & an extended cloud DVR where you can fast forward through commercials on recorded shows. You also get access to their whole Hulu library.
Hulu has a rating of 1.7 stars from 1,179 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Hulu most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free trial. Hulu ranks 202nd among Streaming Movies sites.
